  1. >I hate it when foreigners refer to Great Britain as 'England'. You know, you people on the funny little foggy islands can only blame yourselves! Who in their right minds would have messed up a perfectly good geographical location with so many countries and areas and stuff? Seriously, it's confusing! The names of the countries are easy of course. But then: -The United Kingdom? That's England+Scotland+Wales+N-Ireland, right? Is that the same as Great Britain? -What do you call the main island(E+S+W) ? -Is there a name for the whole bunch(E+S+W+N-Ireland+Ireland)? -Who can I call british without insulting them? Erno
  2. I'm no TM, but according to what I've heard, most pukers toss their cookies during the canopy ride or after landing...
  3. As long as my stuff fits in, and and the bag is made of some durable fabric, I dont really care. Oh, yeah, since I'm a cheap bastard I don't want it to cost too much. So: -Large -Durable -Inexpensive Smaller sidepockets are a bonus, of course
  4. I have no idea what he's babbling about, I'm going to have to consult the list myself... I'm hazarding a guess : You said "Thanks for nothing"?
  5. Try this page for a rather comprehensive list of abbreviations. There are some that are specific to skydivers and/or this forum, so they wont show up on the page. BTFU comes to mind as an example.
  6. Heard on the news that the storm has escalated to a "Class 4"-storm, whatever that means. Doesn't sound too nice. The winds have been reported at over 60m/s(http://www.convert-me.com) (edit for typo)
  7. You haven't played the Skyball Challenge yet?
  8. "I'm gonna open a can of whoop ass on you!" What movie was that again?
  9. >If a door remains closed at all times, doesn't that make it a wall? If a guitar is never played, what does that make it?
  10. >I tried that too, it comes up as a broken image.. (see to left) Looks fine to me.
  11. >Any suggestions on what else to do with my time? Well duh. Challenge Clay for the place of DZcom's alfa post-whore. You won't have time to do anything else besides posting here...

    Hey Erno?

Pidetään ne PM:t ihan vaan privaatteina, on täällä muitakin suomalaisia... and mouth; I haven't seen you say that to Sangiro when he posts in Afrikaans...

    Hey Erno?

    >After "Intertran"'s attempt to translate your phrase, it really >didn't make me want to buy their software. Yeah, it wasn't too convincing... >apparently english is one of the hardest languages to learn? I wouldn't think so. English wouldn't be in such a widespread use if it was particularly difficult. Of course it does help that there isn't any shortage of practice-material; all I have to do is turn on my TV. Half the programs shown here are in english. Try Finnish if you want a difficult language: the already mentioned word-endings will be fun to memorize: For example, the verb "to jump" in english, has let's see... 3 different forms for the persons and tenses; jump, jumps, jumped. Pretty simple, right? In Finnish on the other hand... the verb "hypätä" has 13 forms for different persons and tenses: hyppään, hyppäät, hyppää, hyppäämme, hyppäätte, hyppäävät, hyppäsin, hyppäsit, hyppäsi, hyppäsimme, hyppäsitte, hyppäsivät, hypänneet Have fun at Finnish 101.... Hey Erno?

"Vaikka näetkin lukea tämän, et todennäköisesti kuitenkaan ymmärrä tästä sanaakaan." "Although you can see and read this, you probably don't understand a word." Finnish is a ridiculously difficult language to translate because the endings of the words keep changing according to person, tense, and a number of other variables. That's probably the reason why there aren't many attempts at building an online translator.

    Hey Erno?

It's only function is to fuck with the minds of curious americans
  16. Douglas Adams' books have a lot of similar stuff, here's a couple of examples quickly found on th Net: "The large yellow ships hung in the sky in exactly the same way that bricks don't" "...muscles in his upper arm moved around each other like a couple of Volkswagens parking." Erno
  17. No, WinNT4. It's the download that doesn't work, for some reason I only get 140KB an then an error... I'll try later from my home computer. (edited to add:) Whoa! I don't know if he went above the plane, but he sure stayed level with it for a long time... Very cool!
  18. >Aaah... never heard of EditPlus2. My apologies. I use HomeSite. EditPlus2 is at the lower end of editors; mostly a good text-editor with a lot of goodies. I just haven't gotten around to getting any software with advanced features. And I guess I'm too set in my ways to use some program with a fancy GUI and loads of automagic gee-whizz features... >That being said, I don't agree with your advice that beginners should use >NotePad to learn HTML. This is where we disagree then. I'm pretty sure you learned the old-skool way? Writing the code yourself gives you a better understanding of it, which will come in handy when trying to find a glitch on a page, made by yourself or the bad generated code of the editor >It's simply not the right tool for the job anymore. We've moved on. You >can learn HTML in any html editor as well. Certainly. If you're set out to learn it. I'm pretty sure it'll be possible to make pages with html editors and _not_ learn html. >Puritan views are more entertaining than useful. There are situations for each approach. I do agree that there's no added value in writing html with vi as opposed to some editor with more features, but if you want become a professional, learning with Frontpage is a bad idea IMO. Erno
  19. Something wrong with the file, I get a download error. Also 192 KB seems a bit small for video?
  20. Yeah, there seems to be a bug in the physics model; if you push downwards on the guys foot, full force, he can get stuck on the stairs and spends some quality time twitching there, collecting more damage all the time... I found some discussion on technique
  21. >Isn't that exactly what html editors are.... a text editor with (quite) >a few other options? Ummm... yes? Actually EditPlus2 _is_ an html-editor. There are a lot of nifty buttons to insert html-tags, and you can assign your own keyboard shortcuts to those buttons. Did I say I have something against html-editors?
  22. Sure, but it's not a big file anyhow. It's basically a 3d physics modeling program. There's a staircase, and a guy standing at the top. Then you push him down. You can choose the bodypart you're pushing, and the angle and the pitch of the push. And then you just look at him go...
  23. >Notepad has yet to fail me. Yeah, it's compatible with all browsers and OS's!
  24. http://taat.fi/taat/porrasturvat/ Not a browser-game, you'll have to download the package and unzip it somewhere. No actual installing required. I got something like 45000 points at the best. Erno
