...and having a stinging feeling for hours is going to make the dogs bark less?

Jennifer Lopez vs. Angelina Jolie based on sex appeal
ernokaikkonen replied to gale's topic in The Bonfire
I voted for Angelina. But the lips are really horrendous. I guess I really shouldn't have voted on either one. Erno -
>a cattie (slingshot) and syringa berries ... stings but doesn't hurt them. >Also shuts them up. But for how long? Of course, it will be much more fun slingshotting berries at the mutts all night when compared to actually trying to sleep through the barking... Sorry Speedracer, no real suggestions... Apart from taking legal action and that'll take it's time... Erno

The usual problem with changing the icons seems to be the browser-cache. That is to say, your browser has stored your old icon on your computers hard-drive, so that it doesn't have to retrieve it from the Internet everytime it's needed. Now when you change the icon, I'm sure it usually is changed on the server the first time you try, but your browser still shows the old icon from the cache. This is easily fixed by clicking the reload/refresh button on your browser, or right-clicking on the icon and choosing 'reload image' or something similar(if your browser has such a feature). Erno

PCBS. What's the reasoning behind "girlfriend" and "boyfriend" being non-PC?

No. Then again we only offer tandem and S/L. We do give discount on the S/L-course for people who have done the tandem first. I think a mandatory tandem before AFF is a good idea. It probably will decrease the number of "AFF-students from hell". Some wont go beyond the tandem, others wont be so freaked by the sensation of freefall. Erno

>Throw a little BS in there too. Yeah! Like the old "You don't have to breath in freefall because you absorb oxygen through your skin"-thingie!

Do you set your brakes as soon as you land? (Be honest.)
ernokaikkonen replied to Jessica's topic in Gear and Rigging
>Can a twisted up steering line can cause problems right Yes, it'll get worn and fuzzy faster. Also on HP-parachutes, if you have enough twists(on one line only), it can cause a built-in turn as one of the steering lines is "shorter" because of the twists. > But then again if you set them each time you landed there would be >less chance of them getting twisted up. Not in my experience; Somehow most people do one or one-half twist on at least one of the steering lines when they set the brakes. Doing the same moves over and over again causes the twists to build up on the steering line(s). Erno -
Ok who the hell are you and what have you done with Clay?

But wouldn't that mean that you'd have to be immune to the effects of alcohol?

The president of Finland is known to travel by tram in Helsinki. You know, with regular people. Things are a bit different here...

>Why? I thought you just said you use Yahoo because you get more >space.... just trying to make work for me? Make up your mind lad! Ummm... 'cause then I could send my "Reply to your post" notifications to my DZcom account, and I wouldn't have to read my Yahoo account at all(unless I wanted to check on my life out side of DZcom). Who am I kidding I have no life outside of DZcom... Yeah, that's the reason!

You're not the first one to request such a feature. I'd like to see it too. How about it HH?

> It's time to swap that silly Yahoo/Hotmail address for something >a bit more potent! I would. I really would, but Yahoo gives me 6MB free space... Size does matter. And Skymama, someone could call me a computer techie, but I still like my webmail accounts. They're easiest use while on the road(which I tend to be quite a bit.) And don't even get me started about Outlook

Not yet, but in a couple of months... Actually we did tow the very same sled on a snow covered runway with a car at about 100kph. We made a cut-away system and all. It was a lot of fun, and would have been even more if the tow-rope wouldn't have been so short; the sled-driver got his face full of snow on every ride. And you really don't need a sled or anything; when we tried this kite stunt the first time, we had a round parachute which was attached to a harness the backseat rider(me) was wearing. Needless to say, the very first shift in wind direction yanked me clean off the sled, and I plowed the airfield with my ass for about 70 meters. Quite a lot of fun, actually. Erno

Do you have an ETA on the real-time lineover video?
-
A couple more... "No, that didn't work" - After this we tried an alternative way of attaching the kite to the sled. Note scrapemarks on asphalt. "It is working" - A better idea was to attach the kite below the CG of the sled/riders-combo "Off they go" - Last pic taken from distance, the assisting crew couldn't keep up with the sled when it got to speed. The canopy used was a 200sqft Maverick. The risers were extended with three lengths of line from a Phantom26 each. We didn't measure it but I'm guessing the kite had 15 meters of extra lines. We later flew the kite in a stronger wind without the sled; it took five guys holding on to the harness and the pilots, and it still was quite a workout. We were planning to do this some day with a 520sqft Tandem-canopy.... Erno

>although the internet makes me refine the term 'sickest I've ever >seen' almost constantly It'll only do that if you try... >Been trying ever since to get the image erased from my mind...no >succes so far...*curls up in agony* There threre. Look up the boobie-pic Skymama posted, that'll at least replace the mental image in your head with something else(but I can't promise your eyes will survive the ordeal...) >"Ello....I'm from holland..isn't that vierd..?" Obviously, yes!

...And wasn't it EmpuriaBrava that has made the use of an AAD mandatory?
