>NO FRIKKIN WATER at home this morning That's nothing. They were fixing the plumbing in the building my last apartment was in. For the last two weeks I lived there I didn't get water. At all. Which meant that I couldn't use the toilet either. They did setup a temporary toilet in the basement of the building for the people to use, but it really did suck nevertheless. I had to take my showers at work. All the water I wanted to use for drinking, cooking or brushing my teeth I had to buy in bottles.

Food. Yuck. I'm really not feeling too well. I must've been still drunk when I got to work. The hangover if really starting to kick in now...

>A few members of a tour group went swimming in a billabong >up in Kakadu Nat. Park yesterday despite the croc. warning >signs. One of 'em got eaten of course. Evolution in action, as they say. I wonder how the human race refuses to get any smarter despite it's best efforts?

>There's a few pics on page 5 (...) that might make you feel a bit warmer. No fair. Maybe if I just close the blinds on my window I can imagine it's warm and sunny here. Actually it is sunny at the moment. And not as cold as yesterday, so I guess I shouldn't be bitching so much.
-
>"A common mistake," he said "is that they try to catch the >snake which has bitten the person in order to show the doctor >what snake it was." Didn't we talk about this yesterday? Stupid people, I mean... "Hey, a dangerous venomous snake! Let's try to catch it!" WTF?

>The skysurfing scene seemed odd to me because the guy >deployed in a stand. Don´t freeflyers usually assume >belly-down-position before opening? Freefliers yes. Skysurfers most often deploy while standing. I haven't seen the movie yet so I can't comment on it.

>Think about the people in Port Hedland in West Aus. yesterday. >46.7C only about 35C today though. Further north in Fitzroy >Crossing it was about 44C at 2.00pm... They'd probably like it >a bit cooler I'd like to have a word or two with the stupid shit who designed this world. Some things(like temperature) could have been distributed a bit more equally...

I should be getting the digital camera I ordered sometime this week. I'll have to post a pic of the view out of my window. It even looks cold. Or maybe I should wait until the next time we get sleet horizontally. So that it looks cold and wet. Have mentioned lately how I don't like the place this country ended up? I mean I mostly like my country, it's just in the wrong geographical place... When my plans for world domination get fulfilled, I'll tip the earth's axis so that Finland ends up nearer the equator... MWAHAHHAAHHAAAAA!

Well damn. The whole of Europe seems to be getting floods these days. Except Finland. It's just getting cold and dark here, we had -15C yesterday. brrrr.

Morning. I'd say good morning, but my personal morning at the moment is a bit woozy and tired. I had this great idea to hit the bars last night with a couple of my buddies... Don't you just love being at work and hung over?

The 'Swooping and Canopy Control'- forum has more discussion on triple risers.

>My left leg strap always seems to want to come undone while Im under > canopy. Ive tried different routings but it doesnt help too much. Please tell me I got this wrong... There is only one proper way of routing the leg straps through the buckle AFAIK. Routing the strap in a way it was not designed to be routed may cause serious slippage. Falling-out-of-harness serious. Consult a rigger before changing thing in your gear. Please.

>Do you know if these systems can be changed over to a regular >system where the reserve handle just pulls the reserve? I have never seen this system, so I'm only guessing: Probably yes. You'd have to change the risers to the regular model, as well as the reserve handle/ripcord. The only thing left would be the housings for the additional cutaway cables. Again, this just speculation on my part. But in what situation would you have to do this? The system is an option on (I think mostly) student gear, If you're ordering new gear, don't get the option, if you're buying used, don't buy a rig with it. Simple as that...

>I have had people piss in my plant, closet, TV and toilet. I believe >a serious ass whoppin is needed if they piss in the fridge What the hell? You hold meetings of the Incontinents Anonymous at your house or what? Was the TV plugged in when it got hit? Was the offender shocked?

>BTW...the US is full of stupid people, just like the rest of the world. Amen to that! Nacmac: >I'm preparing a presentation on electrical devices in flammable >atmosphers right now, even as we speak... Go on, give us a snippet of this presentation then...

>That's because if police gets panic calls from people, they know >the proper situation. You know; old lady with Fifi-dog calling "Russian >paratroopers, they are coming, they are coming!!!" Yeah I know. The police in Hämeenlinna know about our parachuting antics, so they can calm down the little old lady from Karjala without us calling them... Like I said, we don't make any advance calls(at least not usually), and we've never gotten any shit. Now that I think about it... I think we used to call, but the cops in Hämeenlinna finally got fed up with the calls and said "Yeah, yeah, we know, you jump, you land, why do you keep calling us?" or something to that effect... Then again I could be completely wrong, I last jumped to Hämeenlinna a year ago.

>Bwaaahaha, or boo hooo, is this a dialect thing?? No it's a language thing. Lets see now... eng. Bwahahahaaa / fin. Hahhahahhaa / Hähhähhäähäähää The latter is a more evil sounding laughter. eng. Booohooo (?) / fin. Byääähhhh Man, this post looks so stupid I'm having second thoughts about posting it...
-
No, thats Finnish for Boohooo. >If so, I'm getting the hang of this funny looking writing.... Keep trying... Related to this: Damn, the number of Finns posting here just exploded. And there are a lot of Finns who have registered during the last week but haven't posted yet.

>me : "South Africa" >yank : "Where in Africa is that?" and >South Africa? That's like, the capital of Africa isn't it? Like the >United States of Africa? Wow. They have stupid people in the US too? Hmm. Now that I wrote that down I'm not even sure where my sarcasm was supposed to be pointed at.

>My point: What exactly is your complaint? Maybe it was the "ex"-part?

DZ EFRY, Räyskälä Finland : Beer of choice: 'Karhu' (finnish for 'bear') Of course someone might disagree with me on that one.

Not the rest of the world, only the bit of the rest of the world that has heard of the place. There are ends of the world up here too, you know. They're just much colder than the ones in your neighbourhood...

Haha! Now this, pds, is called Thread hijacking. Usually(like now), it causes the thread to go down to the gutter. And there's nothing you can do about it!
