Apparently according to UPT the NEOS packs similar to that of a PD Velo http://www.unitedparachutetechnologies.com/PDF/CHART_00037___Rig_Sizing_Chart_11_28_58(1).pdf For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

Just wondering if anyone else had previously thought about setting up some sort of database. I do realize that there is a location where to "search" for stolen gear on this website, but I was just thinking of a more perhaps manageable way of tracking down items along with the location that it might currently be in. Of course people can still register some gear such as AAD’s with the manufacture but that doesn’t really do much in terms of tracking it down asap now does it? A proposed idea is to perhaps setup some sort of online database where riggers would enter in the serial number of the gear once it is sent in for a reserve repack or modification/inspection of some sort. Perhaps at an additional $5 cost or sth similar? If the rigger has repacked a rig/inspected the item before he/she wouldn't need to re-enter it but simply look it up and see if there is a match or current claim for that item (of course your name, location, and serial numbers would have to be logged initially....pics would be helpful as well). Stolen gear obviously sucks, just trying to find a reasonable way to help out other skydivers that got their heart and soul jacked and gear returned to the rightful owner! Any ideas, proposals, input, recommendations, and advice highly open and welcome! For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

It's 1.5 times smaller after you pack it? I would love to see that trick but if it's 1.5 times smaller in the end I guess you wouldn't see it. Lol a size and a half smaller? For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

There are actually 1 or 2 people at my dz that have a Dolphin and they say to other jumpers that they don't freefly due to the container design and potential premature openings. They tend to stick with RW and Hop n Pops. Not trying to kill your buzz or anything but riggers at my dz agree and say not to freefly with dolphins either.....on a positive note you can focus a lot of your attention on canopy piloting and RW! Personally I had squished a 150 into a container that fit a 135 max and 120 standard fitting, but then again I had purchased a PD Pulse which is supposed to pack around 1.5x smaller due to the material. Perhaps looking into a PD Pulse might help, demo it and see how you might like it. On the other hand, despite it packing 1.5x smaller it was still a pain in the ass to pack......even packers strayed away from it for the first 30 jumps on it lol For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

What do you consider to be your personal best swoop trick? Amazing and fun place to jump. Planes are almost always constantly running, large landing area, great fun knowledgeable people that are very open and very skilled. Just went last weekend for the first time. Definitely planning on going again The yearly fee i don't complain about its well worth it with the great facilities.....its the damn tolls I hate! lol For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

Out of my own personal experience I purchased a Vector3 when I had 40jumps. I stuffed the absolute largest size within the container and then a size larger.....this was merely due to the fact that I purchased a PULSE from PD which packs about a 1.5 times smaller than a traditional 9 cell such as a sabre2. Sure packing was an absolute B***h but hey this way you can keep your container for quite a while. I highly recommend a Vector simply because of the way it contours to my body, the features and its an absolute solid rig. Nothing flapping around nor anything coming "accidently" open plus they are freefly friendly! Also if you happen to be going to any boogies try and find something that you might be able to demo and get a feel for it Any questions feel free to pm me! Hope ya find what you're looking for For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

As soon as you can get a chance I'd highly recommend taking a canopy course. Whether or not you have 10 or 2000 jumps you will definitely learn something. If possible hit up a flight 1 canopy course.....it'll open your entire world to canopy piloting For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

What is your slowest speed in freefall without a tracking suit, wingsuit, or camera suit? So how slow can you go? Personal best was 91mph in a track For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

I feel as if its a more stable quality image as opposed to simply editing it and making it slow mo. Less detail would be lost I believe. The slow motion function has only a burst of 5 or so sec, but within those 5 sec more detail is recorded to the CMOS sensor therefore producing a higher quality video(not that it would matter AS much burned to a dvd, but more so on a file on a comp). Definitely got a point there regarding simplicity though IMO For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

So there is a function within the CX-150 that will capture (I believe 5 or so secs) and play it back in slow-mo and was wondering if there is any particular way that Hypoxic or any other company could potentially work this into their HYPEYE D PRO function of some sort? Or even just create something that would allow the device to activate the slow motion record option? Anyone have any insight/ideas/clues on how to potentially activate/capture slow motion while in freefall? 420lb male skydiving. Possible? Yes, but how?

Just putting this into reference, but Christopher Boykin aka Big Black (Rob Dyrdek's bodyguard) from MTV show Fantasy Factory as well as Rob and Big weighs 414lbs and is 6'6. For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp -
420lb male skydiving. Possible? Yes, but how?
mchamp replied to TheOneBigMike's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
He had an exit weight of 360 lbs, this guy would be more than 100lbs more, closer to 140 lbs more. Figure a body weight of 420 lbs, plus a converted tandem rig would probably weigh in around 75lbs, for an exit weight just shy of 500lbs. I know a handful of jumpers with an exit weight of 140lbs, the difference between the two guys. I remember Atsaubrey, and he may go down in history as the top end of how big a jumper could be. Anyone have any stories that can top a 360 lb exit weight? Modern day examples with square canopies? ............my exit weight is 140...........lol For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp -

Could also perhaps try out some wind tunnel first prior to getting into skydiving. You could at least find out your fall rate and learn to fall stable. Worst comes to worst if you can't end up skydiving you could always just be a tunnel rat and fly like crazy and have a damn good time! For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp -
Most definitely and it wouldn't hurt at all. Get a few min within the tunnel and I could almost guarantee that you wouldn't ever have to repeat any categories ...at least on terms of stability. Go enjoy the tunnel and have a blast! For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

If you truly want to progress in this sport take these people's advice to heart especially angiedave. Ask around the dropzone for advice from AFF instructors or people that have been around for years and have thousands of jumps. Sit in on a flight 1 canopy course or such and you'd be surprised on how much you will learn and really progress! New Member & Need tips on purchasing gear.
mchamp replied to etmz7's topic in Introductions and Greets
Completely agree with Skymama. SDC is an amazing dropzone with very knowledgable people around. My advice is to ask your instructors and do such research on your own and see what kind of containers that you might be interested in. Can't quite say what I'd recommend as far as canopies go since I don't know your weight slash haven't seen you fly anything, but something nice and docile and lightly loaded. The best advice you could possibly get would once again be from your AFF instructors. Cheers and blue skies! Referring to speed under canopy. Why is it that if you are under say for example a velo 75 loaded at 2.5 doing a 270° you have a higher entry speed but with less distance compared to a velo 96 loaded at 2.3? Or am I completely getting this wrong? How would it compare to the same wingloading under same conditions? Does speed not equate to a further swoop? Can't quite grasp the physics lol. I'm assuming it has something to do with momentum btw just asking out of pure curiosity. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the imaging sensor is somewhat superior. From what I've heard back illuminated sensors are minimally inferior to the standard Exmor R" CMOS sensor made by Sony. Video pixels on the 350 is at 2650K Pixels and the 150 goes around 1350k thus improving the resolution a bit The effective picture resolution is also 2650K Pixels compared to the 150 which has 1180K Pixels at 16:9 ratio. Of course we all know that camcorder pics could never replace the DSLR's pictures in terms of quality. Also slightly better quality glass lens For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
-
True, but some people prefer the higher quality video if they are very serious about video. The only choice for you if you were considering that model would be to send it to some shop/manufacturer (not sure) and glue down the OIS. If you you do end up purchasing that model let us know! Also cookie does not make the blackbox for that model due to the OIS. For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

Don't buy from BestBuy if you want the best price....get it from amazon late at night when the price fluctuates and drops to around $470 :) save the extra $80 and get an amazing HD lens For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
