After eight months, I am finally jumping out of airplanes again!!! WOOOOHOOOO! Yesterday morning I redid my ground school, but the weather was crappy so I couldn't jump. So, AndyMan and I decided to come out to the DZ today (a big thanks to my friend Heather for driving us out here!), and I just got back from doing my AFF Level 1! I am shaking like mad from the adrenaline! Felt soooo good to be in the air again, but the toughest jump to do after my injury is behind me! I think AndyMan is ecstatic that he has sky chicky back. -P __ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)

LOL, I'm glad I could amuse some people with the post! I especially like the title because it reminds me of all the porn-spam subject lines... -P __ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)

I dunno...after AndyMan and I saw the DZOs wife taking a piss on the old pea gravel mound, I wouldn't want to have sex there! -P __ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)

Yes, I would have to be VERY drunk to pick up a chick and knock the bottom out of her. I guess I would need a strap-on, too, for that matter! In any case, I'm sure AndyMan would not mind a MFF threesome--with or without air-conditioning. But a very cool (literally) suggestion, nonetheless! -P __ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)

Well, sex at the dz is never planned, but I'll remind AndyMan to wear his camera helmet. -P __ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)

So, here's the dilemma: It's summer, you're at the dropzone, it's sweltering, you're horny and you want to have sex in your tent. How do you get ventilation and airflow in your tent without sacrificing privacy? Obviously, you don't want to unzip all the windows and have people looking in on you (unless you're an exhibitionist). We all know that tents aren't soundproof, so that's not the privacy issue in question. It's more about visual privacy. Any thoughts? -P __ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)

I don't worry so much for regular jumps, but when he talks about trying BASE jumping...EEK! That worries me big time. -P __ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)

Just wishing my Andy a very happy 29th birthday! I love you! -P __ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)

Here's one of me with my niece--givin' her a big smooch! A follow-up to the pic of AndyMan with Yasmin. -P __ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)

Thanks! Every time Andy hears, "That's such a cute picture!" Andy says, "I know, I AM cute in that!" Where's the emoticon for [ rolling eyes ]? The most amusing thing about the pic is that the two-month old baby has more hair than Andy! Ditto what Andy said about this weekend. As usual, I'm working on Saturday, and we'll see if the weather holds up for Sunday... -P __ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)

Just had to share this photo with you all because it's sooo cute! I also wanted to show everyone that AndyMan isn't a complete asshole...! Here he is with my niece, Yasmin. Photo taken this past weekend when we went to visit my sister and bro-in-law in Connecticut.

Not at work...I, too, am surrounded by whuffos. However, a few weeks ago, my BF AndyMan and I were up on our building's rooftop, grilling some steaks, and another guy was up there cooking his dinner, as well. I was wearing my SkyVenture "Where Champions Train" t-shirt, which the other guy saw and promptly asked, "Are you guys skydivers?" We quickly got into a conversation and discovered he just moved to Chicago and signed on at our home DZ as a videographer. His girlfriend joined us a few minutes later, and she's a jumper, too! There is also another skydiving couple in the building, but we don't know exactly where in the building they live. Three skydiving couples living downtown in the same building...small world! -P __ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)

One of my friends from grad school met the DZO of Chicagoland Skydiving at an entrepreneurial business conference in Reno. He told her that if she brought ten of her friends for a skydive, he would give her a free tandem. She managed to round up ten people, but everyone flaked out except for me! So, a little over a year ago (April 20, 2002), I made my first tandem jump! It was a once-in-a-lifetime thing for her, but I went back for more.

The views expressed in the above post are that of my boyfriend, AndyMan. He has this nasty habit of using my computer, forgetting to log out of my screen name, and posting highly opinionated comments in the forums. -P __ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)

When journalism is described as "sensational", that's usually a bad thing. Secondly, it's interesting that only now when the US is grasping at straws to find the WMD's, that they coming up with other ways to justify the war. Thirdly, I thought you didn't watch/read CNN? You said they weren't good journalists, I think. Why are you quoting a news agency that you repeatedly slam? Either they have credibility or they don't. Which way is it? _Am __ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)

Having just returned from Toronto, I was absolutely amazed at all the different cultures and colours that I saw walking through downtown. I live in Chicago where mostly everyone I see is pasty midwesterner white (AND I grew up in East Tennessee, I was one of three Asian students in my entire school). It was quite refreshing to see so many different skin tones (especially Asian faces--my people! ) there. Toronto is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world--over a 4 day weekend, I went to Chinatown (I'm SARS-free), Little Italy, Little Portugal, Greektown, and a bunch of other ethnic areas. Yeah, we have those in Chicago, too, but not to the extent that Toronto has them. Here's an interesting editorial from the Toronto Star on Canadian values: "We do have distinctive values" I think Canadians have a lot to be proud of, and I don't really mind when they say, "It's like the US, only better"...I tend to agree with them. -P __ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)

Awwww! Val, your nephew is sooooo cute! Being an aunt is cool! I would post more pictures of my niece, but my brother-in-law has been majorly slacking off on taking/sending new pictures. He even has a digital camera. For shame, new parents with a digital camera, and my email is devoid of baby pictures. -P __ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)

I like Canada for all of the above reasons and then some...but especially because the love of my life, AndyMan is from there! The two of us just got back from a long Easter weekend in Toronto, and we had a great time visiting his friends and family. Too bad Toronto was just added to the World Health Organisation's "don't travel here" SARS list... -P __ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)

Hahah, when I first glanced at that, I thought it said "Muppet" of the year. I was wondering what you had to do to earn that! LOL! Actually...it IS "Muppet." Andy just never proofreads his posts. Anyway, he earned the title by breaking his ankle running to the plane! One of the DZO's favourite stories to tell, I might add. (Hi AndyMan, I loooove yoouuu! ) -P __ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)

oh...shoot....well, uh, scratch that on the hooking up thing then. Congrats to you too, Speedy! Not necessarily, Andrea, not necessarily. LOL! I was thinking the same thing...I have a sick mind. That also reminded me of a Monty Python sketch: Mrs Moore: Is it a boy or a girl? Obstetrician: Now, I think it's a little early to start imposing roles on it, don't you? Thanks for the congrats, everybody! -P __ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)

Just had to share the news about the latest addition to my family! My niece, Yasmin Sophia Khan was born on March 23 at 12:59 AM. Weight: 7lbs, 11oz! I'm absolutely gushing about being an aunt...she is soooo cute!

By the way, that was AndyMan posting, not craichead. Although, I'm kinda pissed off about it crapping out, too! -P __ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)
