What day are you flying in?
-
Well, that too. Mostly I just want to not be near something especially risky. I've seen the video clip now and John standing up holding the lines looks pretty interesting. As he climbs down McB's back he grabs the rear risers before dropping off. Some neato potential for carnage there. They should have learned from the Apollo astronaughts though, and had something good to say when they pulled it off. "We saved a pack job!" is just pretty lame.

I can barely remeber what I had for dinner last night. That any of these folks are making issue of stuff from 30 years ago when they were all reckless and brave is just silly.

All over again....

I don't think the PHI is still moving toward production. After seeing Andy backfly his S3 at about 50mph vertical, I know the suit can be backflown effectively. I don't know that I'll ever be able to do it, but it can be done. Jari said he was going to be at the Byron Boogie when he was at Herc. Maybe they'll have something for you then.

OK, so I will touch OJP. I'll be there about 8.

I agree with that, Ed. I've had easy mainsides and reserve sides so far, but no solo's. The mainside level one I had last Sunday tried very hard to kill us both. She was done with the whole script, and had done good PRCT's when I gave her the "toe-tap" signal. She lifted her knees to her chest and looked at her toes and tapped them. This flipped us instantly onto our backs, tossed the reserve side instructor and put us into a flatspin. And I'm thinking, "crap, this is exactly what Yong did to me in San Diego." Grip switch to do the roll over and soon as I reach across for the hip strap to get her back belly to earth, she arches and twists and now I'm back on my back again. 4500 feet, spinning so hard that holding on to her hip strap feels like hanging one armed from a chin-up bar. I reach her deployment handle, and deploy her when I see blue instead of brown over her container. Her main deploys and I'm under canopy at 1900. The reserve side instructor was head-down diving at us the whole time and never made up any ground. We were freaking hauling. So, there is no such thing as an "easy two instructor' level. As I was in that hairball, I was immensly grateful that my instructors had put me in exactly that same predicament before. The student was like paper, I was like rock. Thanks Yong Chisholm.

Of the professional skydivers that I know, that group works the hardest that I've seen. Yeah, they get to do a lot of training jumps and are master competitors, every one of them is a gifted instructor. Lots of people are really, really good at something, but very few are able to be really, really good at it and teach it to others. ( I figure you were probably thinking of Mouth mounting the whole team, but after I had that thought I reflected on how much teaching I've seen those folks do at boogies, and how good they are at it)

Yes and yes. I got lots of great video of my form, as all those guys were watching me and several had video. My performance really improved, and FINALLY on one of the later jumps one of those tall skinny bastards asked me to ease up a bit. I knew I was not alone every time we landed, though, cause the flock was completely psyched after flying that close. Those pictures were taken with a Sigma 14, so those wingsuits were tight

That is such a bummer. She chased down and ate a mouse out of my locker just last week. My daughters loved that dog. Meeker! Road Trip!
-
Does that have something to do with Croatia?
-
Thanks Katie-Jo! It was really frustrating at first, cause that group of fliers at Herc was just astoundingly good. The only way to keep them from blasting up and away from me each time was to point a camera at them. I got those with my cameras mounted backwards and flying the rabbit position. The evil and talented Andy Ford gets those pics backflying his S3. There's a ton of Birdman shots in my HercBoogie gallery. http://www.shutterfly.com/progal/album.jsp?aid=768a5498cf68d194ca15

For the folks that haven't seen it, they can download the preview from last year's boogie at my website: Pulltime.net Big fun!

Old age and treachery will always defeat youth and skill. The real shocker is meeting somebody from your past who you haven't seen for 15 years or so, and having them look so old. Makes you notice stuff in the mirror.

Sorry, should have read the thread. Thanks to Bonnie, the nice Swedish girl who gave me a ride from the airport to the Herc Boogie has a "Fast As Fuck" tee shirt! Very cool!
-
I go commando. Oh, you asked for the ladies. How many ladies go commando?
-
Yeah, I've done some big way RW, and now I've done some big way WRW (wingsuit relative work). Jari and the crew are very serious about setting and then breaking records. Discussing it at Herc, it will require slot-perfect flying, and thats what 3-D dirt dives are all about.

Sun ain't up yet. Hoping for one like yours today, though.
-
Nick! So glad to have you with us! Please come back for the Byron Boogie where you can get some kinda real feel for the Byron love. JP

OK, first, I'll just obey Brian Burke on principle. If he tells me that's the deal, I'll take it. I feel completely safe when BBurke is in charge. That said, I don't like deploying that low with a tandem. Particularly if I have an iffy spot, fully loaded, on tired gear. But if Brian knew all that and made that rule, I'd go with it. I just never pull a tandem that low if I don't have to. Alone, on my gear, I'm happy to pull at 2K.

Dude, call me the next time you are peeing, and on the way to SF. The Byron chicks can cure you of your depleted uranium chick sense-shield. Regardless, waking up with a pair of twins making you breakfast will reset your "stupid clock" You really need some Byron Boogie. I will drive you to and fro, you just need to get here. Dude

We need to see the use of the word "silly" more in the presidential debates. Kerry: "Your plan to remove 12,000 troops from Korea is silly" Bush: "Is not!" I am also voting for either candidate to call the other a "retard" when Lehrer is the moderator.

Democrats usually have better hair than republicans.

Will the right wingers admit their hypocrisy and partisanship?
Deuce replied to PhillyKev's topic in Speakers Corner
I actually had fun watching Brit Hume's final segment yesterday with his pundits (Juan Williams is in there usually representing the liberal viewpoint). They are literally running out of things to say about the whole "what were you up to in the summer of '69" thing. Who cares, really? It's not an argument that resonates with the middle, undecided voter.
