I had a Corbin Gunfighter and Lady on my Katana 1100. My wife really liked the detachable backrest, and it was way more comfortable than stock. No comparison. I'm going to have another one made for my K1200, but that means I'll have to skydive right around the corner at Hollister while they construct it. Dang.

Iwan, Krusin is good for both Connie and Vic.

By the dictionary definition, I think they are both conservative. Career politicians tend to want to defend the status quo, cause that's where their power is.

9676 looks like ChopChop is attempting to telekenetically explode your head. Nice shots!

Yes. And they (I) don't matter. Only the 10% or so who will vote and haven't decided yet matter at this point. Just like the Swift Boat people, it doesn't matter that virtually nobody saw the original event. Virtually everybody will see news coverage and sound bites of the Giuliani and McCain speeches and that will topple the undecideds into Elephantland.

Oh, I agree Paul. But he did it so well. He put a smile on the knife in the back. Very scary, very exciting blood politics. Sorry, all. I dig this stuff. I like it when my guy is winning, but I like it anyway. The Colisseum.

Hey, Bill, I started to PM you about my intentions in this thread, but stopped. You have the only residential greywater system I have ever seen, and I have more respect for you for being a "put up or shut up" kind of guy than I can express. Your "do as I do" lifestyle is just the apogee of personal consistency. That said, I think the Kerry's would be far more likely to turn their nose up at putting their bathwater in their yard than the Bush's. I think the old definitions of "conservative" and "liberal" are not that relevant to politics. I think all ecologists are pretty conservative. By definition.
-
DId you see that Giuliani speech? It's over.
-
No question, Q. But I wonder what the reaction would be of either family of a pump in the bathtub to water roses with greywater. I think the Bushes would think it was neat, and I think the Kerry's would think it was third world. I, for one, think it's astoundingly neat.
-
Yeah, I guess that kind of does it for me. What is funny in the Kerry house? Anybody who has been around me for any length of time at all knows that I love to laugh, and make folks laugh. I don't think I could make the Kerry family laugh. My wife works for our County library, so I know enough about librarians that I could at least get a smile out of the Mrs. Yeah, it's easy to say that the Bush's would laugh at the misfortune caused by Halliburtinisms, but I think that is disingenuous. I just don't think the Kerry's would belly-laugh at my stories about OCS. I think the Bushittos would.

I definitely don't care at all whether his parents didn't hug him enough. He's 21, and responsible for his own actions, even if his parents were astounding drunk drivers. None of that matters. He killed his friend. His friend contributed to his death by being drunk. The fault lies with the two of them, and no one else. If someone were to defend this buffoon by citing the actions of parents and "everybody had done it" it would be really wrong. At 18, just about everywhere, you gotta be ready to be responsible for your actions. Pointing at what others have done, and continue to do, is really no defense.

I'da started this in bonfire, but it should only take one or two posts before it turns into a bash, so I'll save a greenie the trouble of moving it. I was looking at some photos of the Kerry girls and the Bush twins, and it ocurred to me that I think I would be happier marrying in to one family much more than the other. I think this is one of the intangibles that will break more for one candidate than the other. Getting elected has nothing to do with conservative voters like me, or liberal voters like the BillVon, but the "undecided" folks in the middle. I think most folks in the middle would rather have the Bush family in their living rooms than the Kerrys.

Probably March. The hills around here are all emerald green then. Maybe even late winter, when we sometimes get some snow on Mt. Diablo.

Sorry to hear that, Lew. Hang in there.

Risk Tolerance - What is stupid? (motorcycles)
Deuce replied to PhillyKev's topic in Speakers Corner
I wear a full face all the time, but that's because the law requires a helmet in CA. My helmet is wired up to my CD player cause I like to to listen to music on longer rides. My one serious crash was 11 years ago, and I was cut off while lane splitting (splitting is legal and common in CA), locked up the front end and highsided right under the front of an 18 passenger van which then ran over my head. The van came to rest with the helmet (including my head) partially under the front passenger tire. My faceplate was right up against the pavement. I'll never forget laying there, trapped under the stupid van with my ass out in traffic, waiting for my legs to get run over. The van rolled back off my head and I was OK. If it had been an open face helmet, I would have suffered really serious face and jaw injuries. -Funniest part of that story was when another motorcyclist came up to me and said "Here's your gun" and handed me my AMT. My pistol had been thrown clear of me when I tumbled. The poor van driver thought he was arming me so I could murder her. Anyhow, if I'm going to bother, I'll wear the full face. I also have a pair of the neato new Shoei Syncrotec's with the faceplates/chinguards that open. Those are nice to open up when traffic is moving slow. -
I think I cracked 1000 about two weeks ago. Did a 4 way with VDSChoor, GHHolder, and Kevin. Thanks!

I use the "standard" anti twist plate with my 10D. You have the correct part numbers. JP

You're just mean Remi

That is the whole story as reported by Reuters. Jerry: I have seen some stupendously whackadelic stuff. This story is still way, way up there on the weirdness scale.

Just so weird and wrong: ***"Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor,"*** Ya think?

What? No FOX news links in your bookmarks?

AMAZON broke the US women's speed skydiving record!
Deuce replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in The Bonfire
Good work, Jeanne! Way to put your mind to something and succeed. -
Ladies and Gentlemen, Q has lowered the cloaking device and has posted. This is very serious shit. Please notice the Wings banner ads, and the fact that the Q is featured on DZ.com. He is also prominent on the print ads from Wings. That is because he is the best camera geek ever. Ever. Yeah, I love this stuff. Today was a happy AFF and Tandem day too. Very hot, but very fun. Thanks for posting, Lurker. And set that new record at burning man for you. And me. I live vicariously via the Q.

I've been retired from one career and fired from the other. I plan on continuing skydiving until I'm the ridiculously old guy with the amazingly good gear. -as opposed to the moderately old guy with the amazingly good gear I am today.
