Skydive Southern California CLOSED DOWN?
Deuce replied to Kbone's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I did my AFF-I down there, and the owner, Joe Masalta, had just recently retired from the SEALS. Most of his tandem instructor and AFF staff were SEALS as well. Anybody with "operator" credentials, like ex-Recon, Delta Force, Green Beret, etc, has very lucrative security contract work available to them over in the sandbox. Pure speculation on my part, but I'd guess somebody made him an offer he just couldn't refuse. -
You need a two-way skydive with me . Wanna do some freefly, or ride the suit again? Seriously? Exercise in bright sunlight is the best thing for the blues. When the fog burns off, make sure you just get outside for a 20 minute walk.

Digital. Cheapest: Digital Rebel by Canon. Current vogue: Canon 20D With digital you can fix your problems from jump to jump by getting instant feedback from reviewing the images. With film, you have to do a weekends jumps, develop the film, try and remember what you were doing and what you need to change, etc.

Dude, put the cover on the BillRVon with a big bow! It'll look like a giant Christmas gift! I think a nice lighted concentric ring thingie, like from Close Encounters of the Third Kind on the roof would be cool. I'm still very occupied trimming all my outside trees so people can see the house. Hopefully I'll have my lower tech lights up by Friday. Tree too!

Yeah, that's you, Remster. Instead of "Hold my beer and watch this!" it's "Hold this while I make some sauce!" Do they even have tractor pulls in Franada? Edited to add I am actually out for a while to get some chain oil for my chainsaw, so my witty reparte will be delayed a bit.
-
Bwaaahhhhaaaaa Aggiedave needs to go to work in photoshop to get a pic of this. I suggest painting the truck to match Remtard's canopy too. Thank you. The wine rack in the pickup truck line is brand new, and will be featured in my HBO special.
-
I think he meant to say "confiture d'outil.... confiture d'orteil That sounds like Jake talking. "Gonna fit your door over there" or something. French redneck. Except Remtard has a wine rack in the back window of his pickup.
-
He's easy to find. Just check behind beer.
-
I bet that sounds real sexy in French. You guys still here? I won this contest on Page One.

Yeah, this is where I have a problem in Cali, too. Anybody under 18 cannot enter into a contract, unless they are an emancipated minor. So they cannot be bound by a waiver, and the parents can't waive the rights of the child. Wierd, come to think of it. I soloed a glider when I was 14, and a Cessna when I was 16, so I wonder how the flying schools get around the liability issue?

I would have to if it was a malevolent hold. They don't let you skydive in jail, and that's where I'd be once we landed. I don't think that sort of thing is funny. If I had exposed my hands to a tandem student and they grabbed them and I wasn't able to get (either) hand back by the hard deck, after biting the crap out of their neck, I would probably quit tandem skydiving. I do get the willies about folks who think a tandem skydive is just an expensive roller coaster ride. Skydiving is dangerous. It tends to kill the easily distracted and careless.

Screw that Roy! We look GOOOD! Lisa also got my Mortgage Broker in there! People respect the Authority Belly, Roy. Home ownership makes up for the love handles!

You asking me? You silly Biotch. When I threw you in the pool at Perris for your 1000th, that dorkus threw me in after you with my phone in my pocket. Took it apart and let it dry, and it's been working fine.

Dude, the 5 of us, a portable generator, 100 feet of discharge hose, a gasoline powered sewage pump and 8 hours of effort put at least fifty or sixty gallong of additional muck in the pond. And remember, me and you were able to scale that fence whilst the young fit engineer had to go the long way!

3rd Annual Dropzone.com Skydive Arizona Holiday Boogie
Deuce replied to sangiro's topic in The Bonfire
Atta girl! Hey, the boogie is almost a month from now. It'll be sunny and mild by then! -
OK. That cracked me up and reminded me of the funniest plane ride in history.

Such joy is mine that my friends post about my suckage when they are bored. Jakester: Mare-bear, it is evident in that photo, where a group of my friends got together to convey their affection toward me, that the crowd is saying "...YOU!" Nice pictures of Karen, hope to meet her this year sometime. Sorry I missed your call Leese. I'll see you in a couple weeks and we'll solve all the worlds problems. SoCal! Shut the f*ck up. You make your living sucking. Or is it that the place you work sucks. Or blows. Actually I think it sucks and blows, right?
-
Well, then. You will absolutely LOVE crack! Truth is, the crystal meth can be safely enjoyed too, so long as you clean the needle with alcohol before injecting it! See, old school speed junkies would inject after sterilising the needle over a flame, but the match would collect soot, and the soot injected under the skin would cause tracking, or track marks. But with needle exchange programs, there's really no need for that either. Seriously, coffee products are for whuffos! Try the pipe for a while, and then move over to the true central nervous system enjoyment of crystal methamphetamine! It's what's for breakfast!

Whatever. Even though you have a "sportwagon" now, can I still dance around with you on my back? Derek is cool with it.

Sorry to tell you that my DZ, Byron, is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Otherwise, I would have really looked forward to showing you my little corner of paradise. You may be very much hosed on NorCal DZ'z on a Monday. If you reverse your plan, you could come out to Byron on Sunday and have a very good time, and then see the Birdman's cell on Monday before driving down 101 (a must, rather than Highway 5) to points south. The other local DZ's are very nice, but I think Byron has the highest percentage of DZ.postwhores. And me.
-
Ha. I'm a genius. That's pretty cool.
-
Yes. Absolutely. I have about 200 tandems now, and am finally getting enough experience to be able to finesse things more than muscle them. The only problem with finesse and technique is they are pretty much only available through experience. A new tandem master will have to have flexibility and strength to get started, and he or she will have to have finesse and technique to stay in the game for any length of time.

My boss flies the 20D. No downside, especially if you are already flying Canon product. I've taken a zillion pictures with my 10D, but I'd be going to the 20D right now if I had the money. The focusing system and the speed of the buffer are really nice.
-
Ah, that is why they call you "The Number One Monkey" I'm 6' 210# and don't have any trouble out of the 182 or 206. I think the key is flexibility and strength. The lady who rated me is 5'4". She doesn't have a weight limit, but she won't take people who are much above 6'3" cause she can't get her feet to the ground before the passenger every time.
