I just impulse bought a pair of Gatorz Wraptors, black with blue chrome lenses when I got my rating. They are superhellacoolio, but I'm looking at the reciept thinking I shoulda got a spiderman articulated action figure instead

Stay perfectly still while I reluque you.
-
Yeah, but then you have Clay infestation problems.

Try here, Dom: http://www.verbaladvantage.com/shop/product_details.cfm?prod_ID=9 The word you are looking for is "hung over". As in "After a delicious meal of Thai food with Amy and Keith and drinking most of the vonNovak's champagne and then their Fandango tequila, Deuce arrived to teach the ground portion of his AFF Instructor rating amazingly hungover." That is to say, in a status of magnificent hangoverage. I didn't realize how tired I was until the nausea passed. But hey! How 'bout them Infinity containers, huh?

That kind of nonsense sounds better in French. I have no idea what the French word for ogling is, but I bet it gets used enough that is sounds cool. "Staire du decollette" or something like that.

Well, we all have to learn, and most all of us sucked at it for a while. Some people in management positions aren't good managers. Me and Iwan are lucky in that getting in the rotation at our DZ is clear. Get good enough at RW that tandem masters will allow you to jump with them, and not all of them will, at first. Get good with your wingsuit, and not using wings is not an option. Then pay your way and try to sell the video spec, if it's good enough. Eventually the DZ is short camera fliers and you get your crack. Screw it up, and you get back in line.

Ground, right? Not Drowned? Yeah, I'm with JP here. It's like "what the hell?" The DZO allows the TM's to jump on rotation. If the policy is violated, ground everybody involved. If there's no discipline with regards to people inviting themselves to lurk tandems without permission, bad video is the least of your problems, mgerra.

Dude, you will never sell more rigs telling women their thighs are fat and need special "double wide" straps. Just too easy sometimes, Dom! Here, have a new avatar.
-
I was there and was witness. I also have pictures, but you'll have to buy the calendar to see them. Hey, JP? Those pics with the JFTC ladies on the wing are still among the coolest ones I've taken. "I'm on top of the world!"

Wait, I thought YOU were in control. Scariest part was being winded out with all you knuckleheads holding on to that harness with me in the air and all the chicks screaming "HIGHER!" while spilling beer and laughing from the golf cart. The mostest scariest part was Connie offering to let TallGuy use an old tandem canopy so he could kite higher. Winded out skydivers are the only creatures more dangerous than 2nd Lt's with compasses.

Nice avatar, Biotch. Lots: Uh, 8 practice tandems, 6 videos, 4 or 5 fun jumps: First tandems, took up Pookie, two Jens, Vic, Ingrid and Iwan the Videoscooter, did my solo and was a passenger. First tethered parachute kiting experience, got 20 feet or so up twice with only mild road rash. Anybody got pictures of that fiasco? Moto? It was cool. I love my DZ. Almost got to do my first real AFF instructor gig with Skye and MadJohn, but she got too busy dubbing video.

Kev, I think it just seems more blatant to you because your philosophy diverges so strongly from the current admin. Politicians are all students of people, and they "write to the test" "write to the instructor" rather than follow their own consciences. That, I think is what people found so interesting about Reagan, Perot, Nader and Dean. Statistics lie. And whenever they are stated, there will be some bent or slant to them. When the bend or slant is aligned with one's philosophy, it's easier to read. The same raw data when compiled by Kerry's camp, will likely be accepted more easily by sceptics like yourself when they are more in line with that sceptics worldview.

I still consider myself a camera flier first, and yes, seeing the bizarre stuff that students do first hand is helpful in anticipating what they may do, like drop their heads and track when they do a PRCP. Excellent belly skills are a MUST. 8 guys started my AFFI course and 4 finished. Two of those were SEALS on the Navy parachute team, one was an employee of the Dropzone, and me. The freefliers were invited back to complete the course later. I had just come off an RW binge getting ready for the sequential in Florida, and then about 40 minutes of tunnel time with the vonNovaks, Scooter, Wyatt, and Dom a few days before. Camera helps, to have some experience with dealing with what students are capable of, but the flying reaction has to be instant in order to keep in the game. If you wait a beat to see what is going to happen, you will lose control of the evaluator and they will track away tumbling on their backs laughing and waiving.

My gravity enhanced brother, I passed Quade with his wings tucked under his arms and his feet on his ass and I could see the expression on his face "This...Can't...Be....Happening" I could even hear a William Shatner accent as I carved sorta head down to get to you. It was worth it just to see Amazon cork. Didn't think that could happen!

I took Iwan van der Schoor out of the King Air today, 200 pounds of him (liar!) and 209 pound of me. Toggle pressure!
-
I dunno sweetie, but it wasn't the same without you. No boogie is the same without you in the mix.
-
Nice work, Andi! That whole real sky thing is harder than the tunnel, eh? Congrats!

Farrah and Ingrid. Where the hell I came up with Gretchen I have no Idea.

I couldn't care less about the numbers. Hunting down people and killing them is no more or less justified if the accounting is off by any percentage. I suspect that the numbers were generated to sate the carpers about the "why" of what our government is doing. The government isn't doing it based on math, so they did a shitty analysis and tossed it to the carpers. The carpers did a good analysis of the data and shot the original analysis full of holes and the government said "whatever". Vote them out. Get your guys in there, and they'll do the same thing. But you will feel better, cause it's your guys.

Seeing your smile in my mind's eye makes me happy, Bets. I have lots of happy thoughts. Lots of them from dropzones, and skydiving friends.

I did my two volunteers before I do my terminal jump. Farrah and Gretchen. It went well, and it's not the first time either of them has ridden me. Getting out of the Cessna sucks. And It will really suck when I have another guy my size in front.

It would depend on what the meaning of "his" is. I don't know how relevant it is, but when we'd do neighborhood watch stuff, the crime rate always went up. Nothing changed but the level of reporting done by the neighbors. I suspect with the renewed interest in terrorism reporting has gone up, and events which were classified as other stuff before are now being recorded as terrorism.

Happy Birthday, MonkeyBrother!
