384 jumps in aprox. 2 years and 4 months "George just lucky i guess!"
-
Huh, yes i'm taking a break. i've been on vacation for 7 days, with no jumping. it's 10 days now. and i have to wait for another 3 to get back in the air. Well it sounds like break to me For real: I haven't stopped jumping since i started in 2001. i don't think i can. no matter what, girls, love, money,... I know how to clean the airplane, and that's almost worth a hop n' pop from 3000 feet "George just lucky i guess!"

Hmm ok, off course stilleto 135 was tighter in there than my current cobalt comp. 120. But i wasn't sweating at all when i was packing it. i didn't have to lengthen the closing loop or anything. It was just a little tighter than cobalt comp. 120. But still there are canopies that can get inside certain container and there are canopies that can get safely inside certain container. If you ask mirage about putting stilleto 135 in MT, they'll say get bigger container like MO, and so will i. i just said that i tried puting stilleto 135 in my MT and it wasn't big of a deal. Again, if you have (will buy) stilleto 135, get MO. if i remember, it's only 1" thicker than MT. Get the container that manufacturer recommends... p.s.: Huh, first i said MT now MO well don't listen to my first post that was my "have to be cool" voice talking. now it's my common sense (if i still have one) "George just lucky i guess!"

You can also order Mirage sized MT. I could easily put pd126R and stilleto 135 in Mirage G4 MT. And you can downsize to a smaller canopy in the future... MT is a little thinner than MO. If you find definetely want Mirage G3 instead of G4, I'd choose micron (vector 3) because, it looks better than G3, and they are both "equaly" safe. But that's just my personal opinion "George just lucky i guess!"

What do you mean? Isn't nose very similar to cobalt competitions nose? "George just lucky i guess!"

That's great. Yes Stane told me that this version is faster (has steeper glide) How about the control range. is it good or is the canopy easily stalled? how about the stability and turn rate (responsivnes). And flare power? Can it be "stopped" at the end or do you have to run? Do you think this version could be it (the final) ? "George just lucky i guess!"

So how did the latest production version (3rd) of onyx handle ??? How does it fly? "George just lucky i guess!"

The only problem is that when done properly it's so gooooood you don't wanna open your canopy just yet. And you can get a "little low" while enjoying in tracking "George just lucky i guess!"

Now I have to decide between Infinity and Wings
grega replied to badlock's topic in Gear and Rigging
hmm, true. The last time i checked at Rigs & Things mirage G4 was $1200.00 (base price) But yes, one way or another, it's more expensive than wings Oh and Between Infinity and wings, i'd vote for wings too. "George just lucky i guess!" -

Where is the MIRAGE G4 choice... Why? it's perfect! -
Huh, you didn't accidently switch mirage g4 with some student rig did you? Well i have mirage G4, and tried G3 too. they are both almost equally comfortable once under canopy. The only difference in comfort is when you are waiting for your load with your rig on your back, where g4 is a little more comfortable, because of cut in elastic strap and very soft back side of the rig. the other difference is the looks, that some find very nice (like me), others ugly as hell. but that are all personal opinions. another thing is that split bag doesn't make canopy extremly hard to put in the bag. it makes the canopy extremely easy to put in the bag. ask any experienced rigger or packer which is easier to pack split or unsplit bag... and the D-bag at g4 has 3 closing grommets and is differently shaped bag than g3. That are all differences that you'll notice at first sight, i think. "George just lucky i guess!"

People opening above you-a true story
grega replied to jerry81's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hehe, we needed more adrenaline so we made it more dangerous with stupid people in the air Well i'm from Slovenia too and i jump a lot (well for slovenian at least). Jerry is completely right. you just can't teach, or at least give an advice to people with more jumps than you have here in Slovenia. I tried that at around 100 jumps and am still trying. And it's not succesfull at all. Well they are not all like that but few that are can be dangerous in the air by not knowing how to be safer and keep others safe... So what to do? you screwed up? again? Oh, what will we do with you jerry... Oh i just remebered when you said they weren't tracking well. hmm if you're honest, when you look at our loads from the ground, you can see that few at solt track as they should and most of them are tracking like sh#@! or don't at all. So even if you find yourself under solts big way you'll probably experience the same (waiting for entanglement of those in big way, going by you at 1800 feets,...). well at least it wouldn't surprise me if i saw this. So best way is to stay at FF and jump last (after those who don't know how to behave in the air) and try not to screw up anything. even if you are above them you can still fall on them and srew up big time! Just my thoughts. p.s. If anyone at all at solt shows some interest of how to track properly, i'd love to give them some pointers that spec gave me. Or they can ask any at andromeda how to do it. But noone asks... it seems like everybody already knows everything... "George just lucky i guess!" -

Why do you think i always insist on going out last. luckily we always fly freefly so we're out last or before tandems anyway. and you can open few feets higher if needed to get back to the airport, since noone is above us. And you can watch those that are dangerous, don't track and have no landing pattern (probably haven't heard of such thing yet ), from high above and after they are all on the ground (one way or another) you land with all the air you need. and you can learn swooping without worrying about other traffic too much. JVC GR-DVP9 Mini DV Vs. Sony DCR IP7 Micro MV
grega replied to grega's topic in Photography and Video
Because the lightest mini dv from sony starts at around 500g of weight. Or am i wrong? Hell even 300g of micro mv is enough so you can feel it on your head... "George just lucky i guess!" -
maybe he needs it for strapping himself to chair. you know it can be be a bumby ride doing loopings and so... "George just lucky i guess!"

Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper if he'd just buy a VR helmet "George just lucky i guess!"

JVC GR-DVP9 Mini DV Vs. Sony DCR IP7 Micro MV
grega replied to grega's topic in Photography and Video
If price would be the same, which camera would you choose and why? They are both the lightest and the smallest i could find.If you know of any camera that is lighter or smaller, please tell. Check http://www.dealtime.co.uk/xPP-Camcorders for specifications of both. Has anyone any experience with any of the two. "George just lucky i guess!" -
i'm not a master riger, but i think you can easily stretch it, to go back to original position. so it won't tear/wear. And i think you shouldn't worry a bit about it. And i think that you don't need a rigger for such a tiny problem
-
Tonto, thanks i read that "book" a couple of times already, and it really cleared up a lot of things i didn't know back then :) I Just wanted to know what would others choose for swooping... btw: i finaly did one landing with sloooow front riser turn (less than 90degrees) and it swooopps waay farther than canopy number 2 (impulse - slover with more flare) it's almost like a CC120 doesn't like slow. it's built for speed I like it more with every jump , but the openings can get rough if you're not paying attention when packing...
