Yes it's here in Slovenia already, i just have to pick it up at the post. I'll post pics when i get it

Did your friend forget to put his legs through his leg straps. I'd believe if you'd say 1 or 2 inches, but 6-10 is just too much. Post some pictures how this is possible if you can. or explain how a rig can move 6 - 10 inches in any way And yes is the rig properly sized for your friend, or is it second hand. About tightening the rig. If you tighten your leg straps enough, i can't imagine how cutaway and reserve handles can get in bad place. unless of course the rig is second hand. "George just lucky i guess!"

So i guess mirage g4 with soft reserve ripcord manufactured in march 2003 is ok? "George just lucky i guess!"

Quote that low to the ground Quote I said i thought it wasn't low to the ground at the time. it was like 3 times higher than altitude i do 180 on impulse 135. Besides, i wasn't like 30 feet or more too low, more like 3-6 feet. But anyway if you have any advice how to stay safe in the future, please tell me. Just don't tell me that i screwed up, because that's obvious, and i know that. And i really won't try doing it again. And i know how to start learning to swoop. after you are veeerrry farmiliar with your canopy, start with double fronts. after 10 perfect landings in a row with double fronts go to about 15 degree turn, then 30 and so on... For your concern. the turn was made so high, that if i got frightened at the turn (if i'd be realy too low) i could pull the toggles, level it up and i'd still have at least 150 feet of height to regain full flight. But as i did the turn i noticed the speed was higher than usual. and i thought "huh how about a swoop since i got the speed already" so i let it recover itself. but as i said i was like 2 m (6 feet) too low and i pulled the toggles. Still concerned? if you have anything to say that can help me learn swooping better (be safer) please tell. Btw: don't worry i won't do 180 turns on purpose in future, i still have tons of work to do on my 45-90 degree front riser turns.

we just had a "tree incident" with one of the students this weekend. And believe me, it's not as easy to "survive" a tree landing as it sounds. she was hung 30 feet above hard ground between two trees. Trees could barely hold her. Imediately after we found her, we started making her a soft ground with branches and leaves. as soon as we made her about 3 feet high "pillow" out of branches, the wind blew and shaked the trees. she fell from 30 feet straight to the ground If we hadn't made her that "pillow" of branches, it's a question if she'd be alive, but she would be badly injured for sure! then i guess the reason for the difference in recovery arc is the wing loading of the canopy. 1.52 on impulse 135 : 1.71 on stilleto 120 and i rarely do 180 turns on impulse 135, so i'm not used to higher speeds at 180 turns. "George just lucky i guess!"
-
huh, then i guess atair impulse (alpha) has an extra, extra short recovery arc. I could never understood how can someone start a 180 turn with velocity loading 2.0 or more at 500 feet or more and level the canopy just above the ground. I thougt it's impossible to loose that much height in only one 180 turn. Now i totally understand, if stilletos have short recovery arc. "George just lucky i guess!"

Seriousness off: we did a test once what is stronger. we threw a cotton hat out of 10th floor of our flat, and and a factory diver. The hat was a ok and i picked it up and put it on my head, but the oxygen helmet,... no comment. so i guess cotton hats are stronger and they are warmer too. Seriousness on: Oh wait i don't know what serous means "George just lucky i guess!"

what happens when a stearing line brakes??
grega replied to Unutsch's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
i think we should develop something likle "Beer language" all over the world, which everyone will understand, though we already do Yes it is as nac said, your toggles shouldn't be so tight they would pull the tail of your canopy down. But if you have stearing (it seems like we slovenians don't differ steer from stear) long enough canopy. shouldn't turn in the opposite direction. But why just talk, try it up high in the air (above 1000 feet - 300m) let go of your right toggle, pull left toggle hard (like you do at landing) and then let go of the left toggle too, like the line would break, and observe what the canopy does... I bet a zlatorog beer it will be a snappy turn "George just lucky i guess!" -
Last weekend i tried stilleto 120. I was last one still in the air and in landing procedure going downwind. i was a little high so i turned 180 with front riser. i planned on letting them way to high, so the canopy would loose all his speed by enough height so i could land with normal conservative landing with toggles. without adding any speed. though i'm quite farmiliar with high speed landing. i do a 90 degree carved front riser turn on Atair impulse (Alpha) 135 most of the time. But this was only second jump with this canopy so i decided to go conservative. to continue my story. as i did 180 front riser turn, i let go of them too high, or at least it seemed too high at the moment. But the canopy just kept diving and was recovering to normal flight waaay slower than Atair impulse (alpha) 135 i currently jump. Well of course i pulled my toggles to stop the "ground rush" and ended the landing without falling or anything. but i got scared by the ground rushing, and it got me thinking that maybe i'm not immortal after all So i'm asking does the Stilleto has a negative recovery arc, or is his recovery arc just many times bigger than on Atair impulse (alpha) "George just lucky i guess!"

Video on the net of 418 ft swoop??????
grega replied to BluDvn222's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
yes, any news? I want to see it too -
Do you know if you packed only early G4 versions or newer G4.1, which are supposed to be without wrinkles. "George just lucky i guess!"

you forgot to add "First to have sex on mars" "George just lucky i guess!"

"big boned" hahaha...ok...chubby
grega replied to snowboundlava's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
and you can still say: "i'm not overweighted, i'm undersized !" -

grega replied to snowboundlava's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
oh then you're like me. well at least about that "like to eat" part the key is that you have to work more than you eat. not just weights you also need to do swimming, running, bicycle, ... "George just lucky i guess!" -

do you weigh more than all girls together on your dropzone or just more than each girl on your dropzone Why does it matter what others think of you, important is what you think of yourself. about the names behind your back. i bet each and everyone on this world has sort of a name that he doesn't know about. everyone is talking differently about a person behind his back either it's better or worse. "George just lucky i guess!" -
you got me all worried... What do you mean by "after a few jumps" if it's sewed/designed wrong how can it get wrinkled after a few jumps. it should be wrinkled all the time, or not at all if everything is done right isn't it ? which are the smaller ones? please say every container that is MT or smaller "George just lucky i guess!"

well i had a simmilar problem. i didn't actually get bruises, but it hurted like hell once on a sit dive. when you are in a sitting position with javelin without hip rings on, the harness bends in the way that it presses directly on your hip bones. it can be also bent so that it points away from your hip bones, that way it doesn't hurt. you just have to remember each time you exit the plane to bend the harness in the way that it doesn't point into the hip bone. try putting it on and. sit on a chair and watch how the harness bends at your hip bones... hope that helps "George just lucky i guess!"

the bag is split because of the shape of the container. the mouth of the bag is smaller than the bottom of the bag, so it has to be split for the canopy to come out clearly. for some locking the split bag is pain in the ass for others is even better than normal bags i heard that new G4.1s bag is designed in the way, that you lock the split bag and close the bag with one rubber going through two grommets. "George just lucky i guess!"

well for me, i won't even start with what i think about G4. in one word i love it , though i haven't even tried it. ask me in 2 weeks when i get it
-
Well then i'll get it, since i entered the rafle the same second after i saw it on their page in july 2002 I guess i'll have two G4s in december 2003 then, well can't complain "George just lucky i guess!"
-
How am i now supposed to survive another 1 or 2 weeks to get mine g4, after you brought this post up and said nothing but all the best about mirage . and i bet it is
-
Hmm i think you can still get it, but you have to come in slovenia. My friend just got it a month ago. but they are called "impulse" here in slovenia/europe, though it's the same canopy from the same manufacturer, Atair. "George just lucky i guess!"

can't help myself being a G4 whore Hmm it sounds complicated with 3+1 grommets now. How did you figure out where do the lines go? was it written in manual but only the pics were old. or did you figure that out all by yourself? i noticed you didn't get the unisyn. too bad, you get the padding under hip and chest ring with unisyn. it's expensive i know. i can feel the expensivnes as i speak, because i don't have enough money for food. but who needs food, as long as i get mirage g4 with unisyn Don't worry i won't forget sending pics of mine, when i get it
-
the difference between the G4 and G4.1 is also that when you don't have the exact size of main or reserve in it it's not wrinkled. G 4.0 got wrinkeled if you downsized. at least that's what i was told. and G 4.1 is not tapered so much at the bottom. I didn't know about the gromets though? how are there only 3+1 grommets. did you took those pictures with digital camera? if so feel free to take some more pictures (it's never too much of G4 pictures for me
