  1. Hey Gerry, I haven't jumped since October! How about you? I saw you jump at Burnaby, have we met before? Nick My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  2. Is it at all possible to see an MPEG version? I cannot dowload Quicktime here at work and Windows Media Player wont view it. I've been waiting to see this vid, I've hear of it. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  3. Just barely, I'm sure many pass over it without seeing it. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  4. Bwahahaa! That's a good one! Gonna have to suck it up and tell the lady-friend lol. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  5. Thanks Zenni. And I agreee that too many religions use guilt to keep the sheeple in line. But I have no issues with the 'sinner' part. I do admit that I am a sinner. Furthermore, I consider it naive of any human to say that they are not. "Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone." It was the "lost and dying world" that I protested. I can not cosider my world "lost and dying" or there is no point to living in it and there's no point in the battle. Check this food for thought. Can one call him or her self both agnostic *and* Christian? I call myself christian not because "Jesus is the son of my God, sent to die for my sins." but because he brought in the new covanent. i.e. God is not a vengeful one, love thy neighboor simply because it's the right thing to do. This 'New God' I grew up learning about cares just as much about why I do good as he/she cares wether I do good. So... I don't go to church, but love my neighboor and spread the word. Todays Agnostics are the Anarchists of the religious in that they chose how to live based on their own reflection of right and wrong. I refer you to my sig line. "My Karma ran over my dogma." not just a witty joke, I hold true to this statement as doing good and loving my neighboor has brought joy to my life. It obliterated my dogma in that I now practice no ritual, or ceremony. I offer no common prayer. In short, no religion. My decision not to conform to any one club was a mature one based on what I drew from the teachings of Christ. "How do you like them apples"? -Eve My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  6. Right on. Thanks for the correction Quade.
  7. Private pilot. Funny to say to other pilots: "I have many more takeoffs in an aircraft then landings." Even though I don't fly the jumpship, I like to watch 'em figure it out like a riddle
  8. Well, it had to be BASE because demo jumps like that are forbiden right now due to the Nations current security level. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  9. "Do you think that is air you are breathing?" -morpheus lol, sorry couldn't resist. You've made a very nice post. I would present that I fall into the first category because I do not beleive in the Sunday School God. However, I beleive in something, but would never have the odacity to fabricate mine own description of him/her/it, let alone provide this description to others. I'm sorta waiting to find out
  10. Hi, I was actually very interested in this organization. I went to sign up and decided against it based on one sentence alone. I cannot sign my name to a statement beginning with: "I admit that I am a sinner in a lost and dying world.". Where I believe we have problems... and that many a soul is adrift, I cannot accept that our entire world is "Lost and dying." Nick My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  11. From that: "Yoda still has the force on his side -- the Pasadena police force" Bwahahaa My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  12. A friend and I were once discussing the possibility or a Winch that could let you out on a water-ski-type rope. There would be no 'slam' if you exited right and were fed more and more rope by the winch... it would also facilitate bringing the rope back into the plane afterwards. would I? Dude, where do I sign? My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  13. Would you listen to yourself sparky?... er... I mean read yourself. Pot was outlawed due to lobbying from the pulp and paper industry in fear that hemp products would put them out.... *Not* because of it's effects on the human body.... which are *not* the same as alcohol. Anyone that says that Pot and Booze are the same is gravely mistaken... anyone who says they are "the same I'm my eyes", has their eyes shut. The effects are not the same at all! Pot affects one person very differently then the next. Anyone that uses pot regularily will even tell you that one bag of pot affects very differently then the next and that is very true. The decision to jump or not to jump is up to the jumper... the decision to jump with that person or not is yours. Make your desicion wisely... that's that. I do not condone toking right before a jump with the intent of being high for the jump. I, er, my friend will turn down a joint if he/she has an active day of jumping. However, it's a judgement call that must take place at manifest-time. I.E., if we're on wind-hold and I, er, my friend tokes, the the wind dies down and we can jump again, I, er, my friend will make the decision right then and there... am I, er is he burnt out? Pot does not affect your ability to reason in the sense that you don't know you are impaired... in other words, the worst affect it will have on you skydiving-wise, is delayed reaction and sluggishness... if you are suffering from this, you will know you are suffering from this and should wisely decide not the jump. 14. Well, there are still the conventional means... you know, sending Canadian troops in baby-blue headdress to play a game of red-rover across a suspected area. lol This is just another tool, to be used when possible. They say they could clear a strip using conventional means, plant the flowers and let 'em spread on their own. Or use a plane to 'cropdust' with seeds. Sure there are spots where this won't work i.e. flowers won't grow in the desert... or will be overgrown by a jungle. But it's a start. I bet now that's they've got this, it won't be long before they can simply alter the plants that are already indigenous to a certain erea in the same fashion... that would certainly help with the Jungle problem. 15. Or swallows trained to carry cocconuts? lol Adam, Awesome find! I swear I thought of that! Came to me in a dream... I should have patented it!... well, in my version, it was more like a 'Wandering Jew' plant with strong roots that would clear a field by detonating them all. LOL I like this better. How appropriate that we use a living medium to save lives... How fitting that past battlefields will be riddled with flowers.
  16. Really tough call, I love all living things. If I have to pick an all time fav right now? The Hyena! A very social, rutheless and resourceful animal ... that loves a good laugh. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  17. I don't know man. I'm a pretty anti-PC dude but I can see where some would be upset about that one. I mean, Jews being thrifty, cheap, rich... well that's an actual derogatory steryotype. Say "Irish" you may think "Shamrock" and that's one thing. Say "Italian", and you may think "Pizza" and that's another. But if you think "money" when someone says "Jewish", and you're venturing into the danger-waters. I could have called this from a mile away! I personally don't give two sh*ts about it but I tell you what, If that was my store, there's NO WAY I would have that shirt for sale. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  18. I also missed the original post. Congrats man! Many happy years to you
  19. i can say that my vengeance went quite a distance (almost a mile) when i chopped it. people who saw it said it kept its shape for a good bit of time before it deflated. I beleive it. Ever notice how long it keeps it shape on the ground after landing compared to non-airlocked canopies? Glad to hear you got 'er back in one piece Heather! My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  20. Sounds like you should move to Ontario my friend
  21. Actually, what I had heard re feeding the birds is that if you keep a bird-feeder in the yard, you had better keep in full during the winter too. Some birds may decide not to migrate if they have a constant source of food. Now the winters are harsh here in Ontario, but I have seen 'em stick it out. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  22. Wow, cool shot! Glad he made it. Remember this one? My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  23. That's just it. 'Discussion' does not always mean "My oppinion, then yours, then his, then hers." sometimes, we ask questions. I was very intrigued by what you had written and asked for elaboration... I thank you very much for what you typed... but have more questions. I do not wish to share my oppinion on the matter. Please do not take any of my posts as disrespectful. If I ask you about OBL' history with the USA, it's because I wish to know what you think of it. Thanks again, have a nice day. If you chose to post anew, I shall jump to it to see what you've said. Kind regards, Nick My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
