  2. I did he wants $ 30.00 for the manual.....nice LIFE IS LIKE A CIGARETTE, YOU CAN SIT THERE AND WATCH IT BURN AWAY OR YOU CAN SMOKE THAT BITCH TO THE FILTER
  3. Preety self explanatory: Does anyone have a manual for an Eclipse Container manufactured by the now gone Stunts Adventure Equipment co.? If you know where I can get one I would be one happy rigger. LIFE IS LIKE A CIGARETTE, YOU CAN SIT THERE AND WATCH IT BURN AWAY OR YOU CAN SMOKE THAT BITCH TO THE FILTER
  4. You could have Sunpath send the good ripcord to the DZ you will be visiting and have their local rigger re-pack you and you would be in Biz...as far as the money for the new ripcord...well that would be your money. 5. Someone asked me to provide the names of the rig manufacturers that agreed with others on the field test # 1 reliability. Those employees of these manufacturers specifically asked me to keep this as an off-the record statement. The mil spec requirement is 8 lbs now they want us to take that to nearly twice the standard, if I bend a pin who buys the new one? me?, the customer, surely not Capewell. The fellow above is right, there is typos, the visual inspection is crap! in my humble opinion it is a bad idea for us riggers to assume their responsibility. If I weaken the pin and it later fails who is responsible me with my cheap TV lawyer? or Capewell with their big corporate attorneys and Insurance backing, etc? No sir I am not performing any test, it was their screw up they should fix it, economics? My economics and my peace of mind comes first! 6. I spoke with master riggers and manufacturers this morning, some of them seem to agree that field test # 1 is not reliable, and that Capewell is trying to pass the buck to the riggers rather than just do a recall and test them and stamp them at the factory (LIABILITY) The procedure states {3/16" (8mm) from the pin shoulder}, last time I checked 3/16" is not even close to 8mm, then it says to rotate the pin 1/4 each time 4 times, this may be easy on some rigs and damn near impossible on others. Exactly how do they want us to label the ripcord, how about those soft ripcords, how do we label those. As for me I am inclined to temp pin customers rigs and send the ripcords to the manufacturer and they can perform test # 2 and properly stamp it "CW03-01" I would appreciate the more experienced riggers' comments and opinions here. 7. OK...got the nomenclature somewhat understood. However if you look at the testing force of 15lbs in place and 11 lbs in the block, that is more than the mil spec specified. I know two Master Riggers who are going to refuse to do this test, as they feel this is not a reliable test. I have spoken with a manufacturer this morning who agrees with this. He feels it is a bit invasive, also soft handles that aren't labelled, what to do here? "THERE IS GOING TO BE A LOT OF PIN BENDING OUT THERE!!!" this is verbatum from a manufacturer who has been in the biz 3 decades LIFE IS LIKE A CIGARETTE, YOU CAN SIT THERE AND WATCH IT BURN AWAY OR YOU CAN SMOKE THAT BITCH TO THE FILTER
  8. I have been looking at a few handles and it is difficult to discern what the manufacture date is, for instance handle says SP 02 @ am I to assume that Sun path made it in 2002? or was the handle only made in 02 and the pin in ? Have two rigs with soft hadles no numbers, what to do here? PL 92 perhaps means parachute labs 1992? If anyone can clear this up I would appreciate it I am getting lots of phone calls from worried jumpers. 9. Yup! I have seen this cypress cable configuration a lot lately ( 4 or 5) in the last 3 weeks. The latest one (brand new rig) also had a very long closing loop, I could get my thumb under the PC (Javelin) I pulled the pin out with two fingers. This came assembled like that from a very well known gear catalogue. LIFE IS LIKE A CIGARETTE, YOU CAN SIT THERE AND WATCH IT BURN AWAY OR YOU CAN SMOKE THAT BITCH TO THE FILTER

I too have a tempo 150, weigh as much as you out the door and let me tell you a I am glad I was able to flare (this happened 2 days ago) LIFE IS LIKE A CIGARETTE, YOU CAN SIT THERE AND WATCH IT BURN AWAY OR YOU CAN SMOKE THAT BITCH TO THE FILTER
  16. I had my first cut-away in almost 20 years yesterday. As luck would have it my main landed in an area cleverly named by the locals as "Little Vietnam". The brush is so thick in there you litterally have to crawl in your hands and knees to get in, and once you are in there is poison oak, snakes, thorns, rusted barbed wire, hot, humid, hell they may as well have pungy sticks. My canopy was in a 50 foot tall tree. Guys I barely knew volunteered their jumping time and got scratched, bitten cut and lost in there to help a fellow jumper get his stuff back, one guy drove in from two ours away to provide his tree climbing expertise> canopy was retreived with no damage and best of all I realized The best part of this sport: THE PEOPLE, Thank u all at Skydive Houston: Catfish, Dan, Steve, Russell, Virgilio and if I forget names please forgive me beer has been delivered THANK YOU!!!! 19. OK may be I wasn't clear: I am a new rigger and I have come accross a couple ov Raven MZ, which have ZP top skin, I am looking for advise on tecchnique for packing these things as they pose a bit of challenge Thanks LIFE IS LIKE A CIGARETTE, YOU CAN SIT THERE AND WATCH IT BURN AWAY OR YOU CAN SMOKE THAT BITCH TO THE FILTER
  20. Hey I am trying to pack a reserve with zero P top skin and I know there has to be a better way, does anyone have tips, suggestions, experience? LIFE IS LIKE A CIGARETTE, YOU CAN SIT THERE AND WATCH IT BURN AWAY OR YOU CAN SMOKE THAT BITCH TO THE FILTER
  21. I know, I know... there is already a large group of people talking about this in another posting. I have a customer who just dropped off his old javelin for I&R, the rig has soft cut-away cable housing, but it has no tube or cahnnel that I can see, it just has the soft channel that is viible and after that inside the Yoke there is nothing, in fact I felt with my fingers and it is currently routed under the reserve steel cable housing...I will make my recommendation to change to hard housing, but in the mean time is this rig missing something< I can't find anything in PIA's forum nor in Sunpath's website, sure would be nice to know before I go to the DZ. NO DATA CARD

I just received a rig from a guy who says his kids got hold of it and lost the data card and there is no seal in it either. He seems Ok, but I don't know him, he has not jumped in along time and is from another DZ out of state. Any input is appreciated LIFE IS LIKE A CIGARETTE, YOU CAN SIT THERE AND WATCH IT BURN AWAY OR YOU CAN SMOKE THAT BITCH TO THE FILTER
  25. Dude you just missed the biggest Boggie in Asia C-130's, etc. I lived and jumped there for a while, [email]but as far as I know 99% of the jumping is done through military channels. You may e-mail a friend of mine in Thailand who is connected to the jumping activities there. check out his website too.
