this all sounds so cool....guy coming into your home in the middle of the early AM, your eyes are so blurry, it is dark, you find your pistol, and all you have to do is find the moving silhouette and shoot, provided it is not your wife, when it was all said and done, the 110 GS did a much better job and faster than expected. 110 GS = 110lbs German Shepherd, the dude had over 100 stitches plus a nice ass whooping from the cops....happenned to a nice neighbor of mine, he sold his pistol and got a second dog just like the first one...lawsuit? fuck no...he sued the guy for destroying his property and causing injury to his pooch. You are correct, Nancy. John , Mike Forsythe and I have had long conversations regarding this thing, but it beats the heck out of sending the rig back to them for trimming 1/8th of an inch, massaging sometimes helps, waiting for a mal while the tuck pocket is stuck is no fun (seen it) very interesting hand assisted cut-away. After break in or trimming or chancing they work great, I have sent a couple to them for trimming and have had it returned overnight at no charge to me or my customer. Jump Shack's service is excellent and they are very nice people. LIFE IS LIKE A CIGARETTE, YOU CAN SIT THERE AND WATCH IT BURN AWAY OR YOU CAN SMOKE THAT BITCH TO THE FILTER

this is probably very old but hey I thought afetr I showed meg why this happenned no one bothered to mention it: The new tuck flaps take some breaking in (20 jumps or so to mold to your shoulder, during that period folks place the riser over one of the two covers (as the tuck pocket is a double tab to prevent opening) after this period one should place the risers under both flaps..but hey I walk by rigs that have 100 jumps and there they are still over the one flap..... perhaps we should put this on video too LIFE IS LIKE A CIGARETTE, YOU CAN SIT THERE AND WATCH IT BURN AWAY OR YOU CAN SMOKE THAT BITCH TO THE FILTER

paragear does this because they had a falling ut with Jump Shack, notice they don't sell them eityher... I say it now and will always say this, I will not charge my customers extra for my lack of skills or ability. getting trained at jump Shack is a good idea, I go as often as I acn, have been for the past 15 years or so and folks there are very friendly. On my last visit John and Nancy offered me their home for one week while I spent all day "bothering their employees with questions and taking up time at their machines and rigging room. how much betting and how low you want to take it? Quick ejectors were replaced for B-12 at the factory. I asked customer to find another rigger. LIFE IS LIKE A CIGARETTE, YOU CAN SIT THERE AND WATCH IT BURN AWAY OR YOU CAN SMOKE THAT BITCH TO THE FILTER

DURABILITY and what the hardware was designed for, I've lost count on how many rigs I have had to had legstarps fixed because the thick sandwiched layers suffered damage from the friction adapters. 300 foot opening was not what I said, I said he was about 300 feet still in freefall, someone other than me saw a flash of white behind the trees. I just retired a racer that had never been spliced or other wise rapaired with 2500 jumps, and it wasn't just one rigger that had passed it was all in our area. But hey I am not here to convince anyone of anything, you like your infinity more power to you I mean more power racer to me. he he he LIFE IS LIKE A CIGARETTE, YOU CAN SIT THERE AND WATCH IT BURN AWAY OR YOU CAN SMOKE THAT BITCH TO THE FILTER

I think Rigger Examiners should give candidates a test on a Power Racer with a cypress, that way if they can do a Racer they can do anything, also why should folks have to pay extra for the riggers lack of ability or training. In my home DZ not one rigger charges extra for a racer. I love the things, have personally witnessed some dumb ass go behind the tree line (mind you in this part of Texas trees aren't that tall) still flat and come walking out with his reserve in hand probably 300 feet> I was for sure the dude bounced. They open quick, no flaps over your pilot chute...I like that No way to rub your reserve pin against anythin in the airplane...I like that No reserve flap doing it flap, flap, flap act during a sit... I like that Type 13 webbing stronger more durable and actually fits the hardware...hmmm I like that I charge more for javelins....ha ha ha LIFE IS LIKE A CIGARETTE, YOU CAN SIT THERE AND WATCH IT BURN AWAY OR YOU CAN SMOKE THAT BITCH TO THE FILTER

aahh yes the ban was so good to us, specially the batonet part...everyone knows that a bayonet makes the weapon deadlier after you run out of multiple 30 round mags. anyone know of a crime commited with a bayonet attached to a rifle? In this case the cable had plenty of slack...and to the other fellow who asked was this the one in Chile? the answer is yes. My dear friend of many years Hugo Quezada lost his life that day. LIFE IS LIKE A CIGARETTE, YOU CAN SIT THERE AND WATCH IT BURN AWAY OR YOU CAN SMOKE THAT BITCH TO THE FILTER

hey dave...jump shack makes their own pins...so no capewell Sb crap to worry about and will make any handle shape (except pillows) and they cost about 45 or 55 bucks....whoever is selling this shit at 110 is ripping you off as well, if you ever need a handle quick and inexpensive call me. It is not illegal to have other manufacturers handles so long as they are "acceptable replacements of similar manufacturing or blah blah per part 105" I think. well well I was wondering when it was going to be my turn: Fast reserve deployment? you bet...many years ago I was jumping at a DZ in Texas, I was just learning and had about 12 jumps or so....we saw a large formation break, in horror we all followed a fellow fumbling with something and we saw him go behind the tree line still in freefall, people were screaming others looked away and one woman covered her ears. One fellow said he saw a flash of white (I did not) a few minutes later out from the trees comes this guy with the biggest eyes redest face I have ever seen....his words "Oh my God I love my Racer"...I turned to a guy standing next to me and asked "hey man what's a Racer? the dude happened to be the pilot at the DZ, a rigger and had worked at Jumpshack...he took me aside and started "let me tell you........20 years later here I am still jumping racers, I love them so much that I became a dealer and now a distributor. If you want my complete spiel on racers e-mail me. Blue skies LIFE IS LIKE A CIGARETTE, YOU CAN SIT THERE AND WATCH IT BURN AWAY OR YOU CAN SMOKE THAT BITCH TO THE FILTER

Last Sunday I was making a 4way and the group ahead of us was preparing to open the door, folks had apparently given the usual "pin checks" and it all seemed ok. the jumper in front of me was beggining to stand up when I noticed her reserve loop visible under the flap of her vector (older style vector) What caught my eye was I did not see the pin as you would expect, I yelled "Stop!!!!" and the door of the Otter remained closed, I popped the pin cover open carefully putting my thumb on the pin near the cable as I knew that it could go if I did not. The pin was only touching the tip of the loop and had already left the edge of the gromet, seal was broken. Another jumper and I were able to contain, close it deep enough, checked that it wasn't too loose and the jump went without a problem, she will take her rig back to her rigger to have it reclosed. She told me on the ground she usually selrf checks by "feeling back there", in some cases this COULD push the pin up and out of the loop (seen it on old javelins and dolphins. please have a buddy do this for you...4 years ago my best friend and 2 observers in a cessna were killed by exactly this kind of thing, the reserve came open on climb out and the jumper was extracted, the plane's elevator was destroyed and it augered in with 3 people inside. "Concentrate on your self do something fun that you normally wouldn’t do. Don’t rush in too another relationship spend some time alone. Most important (not sure if it applies to you) Learn to be happy by your self." Well said, I did exactly that 9 years ago, today i am married to avery cool skydiving mommy and we have 2 great kids and are having a great time together...about that girl in my past? ...well she got old, sad and still single, I never wished bad things for her but hey...as fate would have it she is one lonely sad person. Any other jumpers with Hydracephalis?
askir replied to klingeme's topic in Skydivers with Disabilities
My daughter (who is now 4) has a Shunt, Dr. Dauser from Houston tells us skydiving should be no problem, Dowser is a Pilot and an eminenece in Hydrocephalis. We have been lucky that no revisions have had to be made yet. Tell us more about you, my wife and I are interested in learning more about life with this thing. We are in good hands for sure but always worried. Blue Skies LIFE IS LIKE A CIGARETTE, YOU CAN SIT THERE AND WATCH IT BURN AWAY OR YOU CAN SMOKE THAT BITCH TO THE FILTER -

well you must be a freestylist....with no camera ha ha ha just kidding man Perhaps i need to post the Tom piras video, the dude who had the premie sure feels like shit now for not having his gear checked, and just beleiving his own opinion, In aviation (mind you skydiving kinda falls in here) there has always been a redundancy factor, hydraulics havbe a manual override, dual instrumentation, reserve parachutes, etc. why not have a second set of fresh eyes look at your shit in case you missed something, may be it is not to save you but to save others on the load, perhaps after you see the video you could see that a simple gear check done by a second party would have prevented this terrible loss to our sport. Tom forgot to turn his cypress and the student never had someone look at how loose his BOC was, either of the two could have been easily caught. yes indeed: I have caught 3 of those in the the last 10 years, one already floating on the door. The term "pin check" is misleading and I beleive it comes from the old military static line days. Gear check is done pre-boarding and then pins are checked prior to exit or something like that. Gear Check, Gear Check, leg straps, chest straps, 3 ring release, handles securely in place, loose BOC pockets, pin seating, cypress on (if possible) altimeter set correctly, and please add others if i missed something, all a great Idea. Some of you may remember Tom Piras and how he died, his cypress was not turned on and a student whom he was coaching had a very loose BOC pouch, premature deployment just below Tom, knee in the face and Tom goes in (I have seen the video) This was an individual with over 10,000 skydives and a world champion... no one is invulnerable. One of the things that attracts most of us to skydiving is the comradery...not the selfish few, besides a guy with gear that is not in safe condition not only poses a danger to himself but to the rest of us in the plane. 3 years ago my best friend was killed along with 2 others because someone in the plane had a frayed reserve loop (discovered after examination of the rig by six riggers) when this individual went on the step, the reserve came out, destroyed the tail of the plane, the craft spun so badly that the pilot (my buddy) and the two left in the plane were stuck to the ceiling or walls until the ensuing impact and explosion. So next time you think you are doing someone a favor think twice; you may be saving your own hide. well said, I am not swayed either way: both have their pro & con, I do think on a high spped deployment i'd rather have a speed bag. Rigs used by fighter pilots have rubberbands and if you have ever seen a deployment followed by an ejection...welll almost off subject I can just think of cypress fire on a sit.
