    Wow, that long ago? it doesn't seems that long... I remember Dave letting me fly the Otter on the way down after dropping jumpers...what a cool dude he was.     I have been to several funerals in my life, but never something so emotional and beautiful as Dan's service. Dan was a simple man who led an extraordinary life. He left a big empty hole in all of us.... He was a humble man, a loving man, an honest man and a hero to his family, his country and to many of us. People always say nice things about the dead, but in this case it was no exaggeration, Dan was the real thing.     I received a phone call from Paul (DZO) Saturday afternoon, about 45 minutes after it happened, it felt like a wrecking ball had hit my chest. I could not believe what I was hearing, Dan is gone. I considered Dan one of my closest friends, his advice saved and improved my life, forever grateful to you dan. Dan was a great Daddy and husband, hard working and brutally honest, never saw him say anything in anger or speak ill of anyone (even if deserved) He leaves a beautiful family, a wife of 27 years by his side, a Navy SEAL family and a Skydiving Brotherhood that will truly miss him I will never forget your words....     My first jump was in 1982 since then I can say two jumps stand out as most memorable, both were organized by Pat. He also was influential inme not quitting the sport when I was considering walking away for good... This really sucks, he touched so many and gave so much.     My wife and I were the last to show up at the funeral home (kids make you late for everything) We pray for Ray and his Family. A smile one can not forget. I remember packing his reserve and 2 days later he shows up at my house with a bottle and an a tub with parachutes in it....and yes that smile!!!!!     ok ok not quite but it should not have been there. while inspecting a customer's reserve tonight I came accross this little lizard, squashed in the pack job. quite dry by now. This little guy left his guts in few spots, as for how it got there, no clue, this is the first time this rig comes accross my table. Not sure if the previous rigger will even believe me if I call him. the location was # 3 cell just bellow the crossport closest to the nose.
