Friend of mine broke her ankle when a pilot decided to do some suprise zero G manuvers while climbing to altitude. This happend at one of the biggest DZ´s in US. The issue was setteled afterwards and from what I heard is that the pilot got fired.. However, I have nothing against some fun and, IMO if the pilot informs everyone on board and no one opposes then go ahead.. EDIT: also the DZO might have to face some legal issues when things like these occur. (someone gets hurt) Not a good idea in the US $$$

Well I suppose its possible that to some extent the G-forces may exeed 1G while turning.. Generally However I would estimate that if you exeed 1G while on level with the canopy on a turn you need to seriously reconsider your turnrate to a slower side.. I dont know a sigle swooper that only uses one riser. (maby some old school stiletto guys and some newbies, but no swoopers by definition)

This seems to be a coomon misconception.. You only need to be able to do one pullup and keep your self up for a while in order to be able to make the canopy dive as much as possible. It is not a matter of strength the way most people seem to think. After you have lifted your whole bodyweight suspended on the frontrisers it doesnt matter how much more power you have left since you will only be lifting your body up some more.. I also fly XF2 @ 1.7+ Heres a few swoops of mine. Not perfect though..had about 450 jumps at the time.. http://www.snapdrive.net/files/508472/swoop1_agk.avi http://www.snapdrive.net/files/508472/swoop2_agk.avi Personally I only use harness after I have started recovery and if I still need to steer the canopy.. Otherwise I do my turns with risers. I never found the XF2 riser pressure high. IMO its moreless medium. Sure it builds up in the end, but thats the way with most canopies..

Maybe a stupid quiestion but whats up with Edson Pacheco doing 2.1 seconds on the CPC-speed run ? Isnt that quite a bit faster than 2.44 ? Also where were Jay Moledzki and Jeffro ? Didnt they compete at all ? It seems confusing to have several different competitions at the same time ? (CPC, PST, nationals)

I attended one go vertical in spring 2007 and theres one thing I would like to add here. If its going to be the same deal as earlier then I wouldnt call it organizing. IMO there was no organizing what so ever. That time the organizers merely picked one group at the boarding area an annouced that they will be jumping as an outside camera with them.. Dont get me wrong.. The "organizers" are really nice people and very talented skydivers. The beech takes you up to 15k like advertised. Just dont expect to be actively organized in this event like they advertise.

1Ds censor is Full frame on all versions.

Though not in the same price category as the Nikon D90 , The HD video mode is also rumored to be included in the 5D mark II to be released in near future. also 21 Megapixels censor, 19 point AF, ISO 100-6400 L:50 & H:12800 Sounds like a nice camera

I think you should tell them that the stiletto is an old design and only the old RW guys jump those these days.

if you dont need a UV-polarizer and you only want to protect the lens, then I suggest you get a protector.. Such as this
-
I dont quite understand this.. The only possible scenario that I can think of where you wont use your arms to "fight with the riser pressure" is when you would have your arms fully extended and therefore you could hang in the dive loops arms straight.. When you say you use your torso ? What exactly do you mean by this ?

Where is the cheapest tunnel in the world that is good for freefly? Prices?
BMFin replied to rhys's topic in Wind Tunnels
Did you check out the headline of this thread. I think it specifys quite clearly what the OP is looking for.. Yes. I have also spent more than an hour at this tunnel. You can freefly, but I would never say its good for freefly cause its not.. -
Question about Digital camera's ISO Setting(s)
BMFin replied to SuperKat's topic in Photography and Video
Some of the high end cameras offer ISO settings from 50 to 25.000 (and more) The more ISO sensitivity you shoot with, the more noise you will get. (the amount of noise depends on the camera in use) The more expensive Nikon models have the reputation of producing less noice even on high ISO values compared to canon cameras. On this area Nikon performs better, but there are lots of other things to consider when comparing different manufacturers and models.. -
Where is the cheapest tunnel in the world that is good for freefly? Prices?
BMFin replied to rhys's topic in Wind Tunnels
It is propably the cheapest tunnel in the world but not really good for freefly.. -
I assume you jump with a DsMIII body with at least two flashes and battery packs on you just to make your best for 30 bucks ? Seriously. I cant think of any other professional photographer who gets paid less for his photographs than a tandemvidiot. Even though taking the photos requires that the vidiot jumps out of an aircraft with the gear attached to his head. Risking not just the equipment but his health also.. Do some tandem video/photos professionally for a while and Im sure you will not want any extra weight on your head unless you are paid accordingly.. EDIT: seems like phree beat me to it..

Ok.. Thanks for the info.. (both of you)

Are you sure ? I always thought lager sensor will create narrower DOF.

No filters at the moment..

Digi Rebel XTi and Adobe Photo Elements 4.0 AND RAW
BMFin replied to Kimblair13's topic in Photography and Video
Why wont you convert the files with the canon software that comes with the camera ? -
A few from last week. HDway1.jpg was kind of a test to try some tonemapping.. Not very serious..

I hear they are setting up a Ifly tunnel in singapore. Thats only a few hours of flight away isnt it ?

Im not sure what you mean by this ? Why would I be happy ? The thing that Im most happy about is when the customer has decent goggles that arent all over his/her face.

LOL I was thinkin of this thread right after I shot the photo attached. When exiting from the frontstep I sometimes take harness grips or sometimes push the tandem a little with my hand.. This time the photo looks like Im grabbing her tit. I did however show her the photo afterwords and sort of apologized and explained it was not my intention.. (edited to add the attachement)
