Hi, new to sport; how/where to post my mal video?
ridestrong replied to sendy's topic in Safety and Training
Same here... I only went climbing 3 times this summer cause of skydiving. Where do you jump? Boulder? Mile-Hi? Please post your video link in this thread after you upload it. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.---- -
Sure but he likely hasn't done much of or any RW or FF. As a beginner you can do either in a FF suit, but you will look a little goofy if your always jumping in a RW suit, and especially if you never do RW. Because that's what this sport is really all about. Looking good. Obviously not... but there is sure nothing wrong with looking good while you do it.. If he is talking about buying a jumpsuit I'm sure he wants one that looks good, or maybe he doesn't care if it has florescent colors and is from the 80s... but dude, if you don't plan on doing RW, don't buy a suit with grips on it. If you really don't give a shit, I'm sure you can borrow a jumpsuit from the bottom of someones locker at the dz... that is what I did for the first few months. See pic of ugly jumpsuit (white, PURPLE, and blue) attached. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----

Get a Free Fly suit. Square1.com has some for fairly cheap $150 (wow just checked $175 now) they actually used to be $99. I have a Freak'n Suit and like it, they aren't too expensive. http://www.square1.com/manufacturers/square1/p1536.asp *I am not afraid of dying... I do these things for me, not for a guy. I make myself happy and feel good first, then the rest comes easily. and that's how it should be. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----

BOTH men and women are EQUALLY superficial. Men do things that women want to see in a man, such as: work-out, get the good job, drive the right car, treat them like a lady... Women do things that men want to see in a woman: try to be/stay skinny, wear sexy clothes, act like a lady... In most cases both sexes will be attracted to or date someone that is in their same level or league to put it simply. The problem (many times) is when we try to date beyond our league. The guy that drives the Porsche to try to improve his status but doesn't cut it in the other aspects will likely not make it with the type of women he is trying to attract. Just like the women that lose weight when they are single and gain it back once in a relationship likely won't make it last with the type of guys they are trying to attract. These are often the people that are always single and bitch about it all the time. It's a two way street and it goes both ways. *I am not afraid of dying... Fixed it for ya. When some non-druggie hits 61 in 154 games, we'll have a new record-holder. I was pulling for Matt Williams in '94, but the strike got him. I don't believe McGwire, Bonds, etal will ever get into the Hall, nor do they deserve to. And I don't think Maris' career numbers justify his entry into the HOF either.....just my opinion. Don Agreed He represented the A's in the All-Star Game in 1959. In 1960, his first season with the Yankees, he led the league in slugging percentage, runs batted in, and extra base hits and finished second in home runs (one behind teammate Mickey Mantle) and total bases (four behind Mantle). He was recognized as an outstanding defensive outfielder with a Gold Glove Award, and also won the American League's Most Valuable Player award. In 1961, the season was extended from 154 games to 162 games. 8 whole games. This season Maris hit 61 home runs and set a record that would stand for 37 years. Maris played with four teams during a 12-year Major League career, appearing in seven World Series and winning three World Championships. ..... but yeah maybe you guys are right. They should just reserve the Hall of Fame for players that consistently hit a .320 average and above and have the fewest errors each season. Forget about achievements like the one's Maris accomplished. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----

30 Years of Global Cooling Are Coming, Leading Scientist Says

Fuck Global Cooling.... keep the Global Warming coming. If we enter full on Global Cooling how can I be sure to do my part to even things back out? I'm going to start stocking up on aerosol cans just to be safe. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.---- -
Perhaps the biggest shame is that Roger Maris still hasn't been inducted into the Hall of Fame. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----

Fuck'em all!!! Strip them of their records and give it back to Roger Maris (the natural HR record holder). http://themattgonzalezreader.wordpress.com/2009/06/15/stealing-bases-is-baseball-fair-with-steroids/ *I am not afraid of dying... THIS is a BIG deal... Mayo Clinic drops Medicare...
ridestrong replied to ridestrong's topic in Speakers Corner
Higher level of patient satisfaction with VA provided health care??? You have got to be kidding. I have seen VA health care first hand and have also talked to patients about their VA health care and they are FAR from highly satisfied. Also, see post# 16 above. *I am not afraid of dying... THIS is a BIG deal... Mayo Clinic drops Medicare...
ridestrong replied to ridestrong's topic in Speakers Corner
Well we are not all in agreement on that being a good solution. I agree with you that the un reimbursed and under reimbursed costs of hospitals are spread to those of us with insurance via overhead. They obviously have to be paid somehow. But raising my taxes to permit the government to pay for hospital services not funded directly today seems much like a zero sum game. Under your theory, my insurance costs may drop, but my taxes must surely go up. Nothing about this changes the basic COST of running the hospital, it only changes who the bills go to. Everyone keeps focusing on HOW medical services are paid for, private insurance or government. On a national level that is meaningless in the long term, as the solution must be not a change in how services are billed, but instead a reduction in the basic medical costs themselves, or a reduction in the total services received, i.e. restrictions and delays. When this bill passes, and they take a half trillion dollars out of Medicare funding, you will see more and more hospitals, then more and more doctors, follow Mayo's example of rejecting medicare. Just to be clear... I am against gov't run health care. The fact that the Mayo Clinic is beginning to drop Medicare is actually good IMO, in hopes that people will start to realize that there is no way a gov't run health care program will save us $$$$$$$$$. *I am not afraid of dying... Question for anyone with a license
ridestrong replied to lindseyxo's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I bet he did a tandem.... got all excited, came to dz.com read all the posts, started telling everyone he was a skydiver and now he can't turn back. ...or maybe he is telling the truth. Either way someone should make a movie about it. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.---- -
On many visits to NYC while growing up and in college I never thought a whole lot of NYC pizza. I moved there and became accustomed to it and have rarely been happy with a slice of pizza since I moved away. Had some amazing pizzas elsewhere, but for just grabbing a slice on the way home nothing beats it! Yep New York pizza. The thing about living in NYC is you often eat at a new pizza joint every other week, and compare each to the last. I miss being able to go to the nearest pizza place knowing I can get a slice, or a chicken roll, or some garlic knots, or whatever unique bread, cheese, pepperoni concoction that place has on their menu. Also, notice how there are so many "New York Style" pizza places in every other city in the US... pretty much says it all. **ETA: If Anyone is ever in or near Fargo, ND you MUST go to Duane's House of Pizza, it is probably the best pizza I have ever had... and I too have eaten pizza in and throughout Italy. Burn this to memory you will thank me some day.** *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----

For din din tomorrow night I have a very nice steak from the butcher.. thick cut.. about 1.3 pounds of choice rib eye... The BBQ on the deck has been feeling lonely SO I will singe the rib eye to keep it happy I think I will make some hearty mashed taters ... I grew those two..little fellers.. white potatos... about 2" in diameter... and again the fresh butter from the local dairy. Mmmmm... you are only allowed to post about food from now on.... cause your other posts suck in comparison. *I am not afraid of dying...
