  1. One thing I have always done and recommend you do in this case is... At the very least send the company a thank you letter for the interview directly. This allows you to re-express your interest, and after read will hopefully be filed away for future employment opportunities if not now. Be sure to include the reasons why you would like to work for them and some specifics about the position. There is always also the rare chance they are testing your persistence and are waiting for such a follow-up response. In this case a well written letter may be better than a phone call. Phone calls lack the time/effort put into a written letter and are more easily forgotten. Be sure to address the letter to the 'higher-up' that would be ultimately hiring you. Good luck. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  2. It is supposed to be somewhat of a modern day 'western'. I kinda liked it despite some of the cliche aspects. I will definitely continue to give it a chance. ----- hottamaly Sons of Anarchy is over till next season. ------- Pokerstar - Archer is hilarious... *I am not afraid of dying... 3. Anyone watch the premiere last night? It was pretty good... kind of a hybrid of 'the Shield' and 'Sons of Anarchy'. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  4. Here are some pics of my V3, DOM 11/09. From the right angle you can see some of the deployment system, however there is nothing that is 'openly' exposed when the flap is closed. You would have to literally be unlucky enough to get it fished out by a hook shaped snag hazard (much like in the video). Sorry, about some of the quality of the pics I was a bit shaky with my camera phone. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----

  7. That is funny. My best friend in high school got his pilots license at 18 y/o and we used to fly out to the small town my girlfriend lived in.. picked her and her friend up and do that exact same thing. There was never any puking tho. There was a zero-G's vid on another thread a little while ago with a dog in the back seat that was pretty funny too. *I am not afraid of dying... 8. I would like to agree... My hopes at lease, would be that a low cost dz can have just as qualified and passionate AFF-I's as one that is twice as expensive. Good people and quality training should be able to be found at even some of the smallest dz's around. *I am not afraid of dying... 9. Congrats dude!!!! nice lic#. I'll give you a pin check, not one of the fake one's I give everyone else, but a real one. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  10. The guy is just looking for an "A" cert course, many of which are offered, but congrats on being the first to have a gut feeling. I'd say you got one thing right tho... *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----

  15. That is only a sin here at dz.com... and primarily ridiculed by closet-aggressive-down-sizers (who are anti-aggressive downsizing. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  16. Lucky bastard... Must say we are pretty lucky to have this view from the dz. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  17. Cool... keep in mind that they usually give you free jumps for every tandem you bring with you at SDLI, not sure about the others. I actually enjoy the train ride or road trip out there. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  18. As has been said multiple times, this is not about closeted gays, but about anti-gay closeted gays. I sure as shit didn't read all the previous posts, but that's cool... I don't think that would stop them from having butt sex with each other. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  19. A wheat beer is good when sitting outside on a hot day, but even then I can only drink a few of them. They are a bit too sweet for me... kinda a girly beer. Oh, and I almost forgot.. hahahahahahahahahaha (great title). *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  20. Whatever... I think there are enough closet gays to go around in both parties. Now if only they could just all get together, have blue and red butt sex and make the gov't sssooper dooper. *I am not afraid of dying... 21. Democrat legislation killing higher education and bankrupting America one state at a time. ---- http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704187204575101461287544470.html When will students figure out the politicians have sold them out? Hundreds of University of California students rallied against a 32% tuition hike last week. . . "The bill refigured the compensation formula for pension benefits of all public-safety employees who retired on or after January 1, 2000. It let firefighters retire at age 50 and receive 3% of their final year's compensation times the number of years they worked. If a firefighter started working at the age of 20, he could retire at 50 and earn 90% ... See Moreof his final salary, in perpetuity. One San Ramon Valley fire chief's yearly pension amounted to $284,000—more than his $221,000 annual salary." . . . "Mr. Schwarzenegger has routinely called for pension reform, but the Democratic legislature has tossed aside the Terminator like a paper doll. Last year, he proposed rescinding the lucrative pension pay-off for new employees, which he estimated would reduce pension pay-outs by $74 billion and health-care benefits by $19 billion through 2040. More recently, he called for doubling state worker contributions to their pensions to 10% from the current 5% of their pay. But these propositions have little traction in the legislature." . . . *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  22. I have jumped at SDLI a few times and love it. The staff there is great, it's a friendly DZ. The view is the best in NY, as you can see the entire end of LI surrounded by water. Not a lot of experienced jumpers there tho. I'd recommend it. One down side is that it is kind of a bitch to get out there, not a problem if you have a car. *I am not afraid of dying... 25. Its not from cutting off blood circulation... Its from pressure on a branch of nerves called the Brachial Plexus. Very very rarely can it cause any long lasting symptoms. We used to see homeless people in the ER that had prolonged symptoms due to passing out on hard surfaces such as park benches. The added factor why they would experience this is because of alcohol induced sleep and they would not move for up to 12 hours etc... The average person will continue to move as they sleep even though you may wake up with a numb extremity from time to time. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
