The Republican parts can't do without the subsidies from Blue area tax dollars. The Dems can't do without the cheap labor the Red areas provide. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Why would you be angry at them anyway? You anger at engineers, like your dating life, says a lot more about you than it does about them. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Help your DZ be efficient in the event of an accident

My agency switched from Red Cross certification to American Heart Association because AHA certifications are good for longer (since our training is mandatory for work this is purely a business decision). Frankly the above advice is good, a basic first aid course will only help you very minimally for skydiver emergencies. I've taken the basic first aid and CPR courses since I was 12 (as a youth in the boy scouts, then worked in health care most of my adult life) and I usually stay away from the accidents at a drop zone since there are almost always quite a few people with much more advanced training there. Funny, somehow most of the bands I listen too allow people to freely record and distribute their music. I know it is a much different business model but it seems to be working out pretty well for them. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -
I'm a health care provider and they teach compressions only at our agency. We have barrier methods available at our office and they provide a barrier that I carry in my car at all times. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

A scrambles event is the skydiving equivalent of pick-up basketball. Instead of a team that practices together and has a relatively high structure, you just take the people who show up that day, divide them into roughly even teams and go compete. Fun, a bit more accesible than more formal competitions, and a good learning experience (though not as good as more highly strructured competition). "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

OMG! California police officers have assault weapons!

1. The whole euphemism of calling them "peace officers" makes me want to throw up. 2. I wonder if such a law would withstand an equal protection challenge. Seems to me it would fail on its face, but I do not have a ton of knowledge of this area. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -
Democrat or Republican? Voters say, Fuck both parties

Duverger's law is what you are referring to. Just a note that while our voting and political system inherently favor a 2 party system, it does not mean it wiill immutably be the same two parties we have now. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -
Congress Actually Ends Taxpayer Funding of Ethanal Subsidies
Southern_Man replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
Just Iowa? Of course not, it was an economically irresponsible bit of corporate welfare to large corn farms throughout the country, but it is a bit disingenuous not to note the importance of the Iowa Caucus in the establishment and long maintenance of that subsidy. What I get I you think the National Corn Association is mainly the Iowa Cauci Well, that surely incorrect. I guess it would take a nuanced and involved discussion to note two interrelated conclusions: 1. That the ethanol subsidies surely were a giveaway to large corn farmers everywhere and enjoyed large support from legislators for the farm belt of both parties. (this is generally true of most government sudsidies, the only bad ones for politicians are the ones that don't benefit their own constituents). 2. That the placement of the Iowa Caucus first on the calendar of presidential nominating contests increased the power of the ethanol lobby, as lawmakers who were running for president were told that going against the farm subsidy would harm their chances of winning in Iowa and thus of winning the nomination. If you want to dispute either of those opinions you are free to do so. From what I can see nuanced and involved discussion aren't really part of your repertoire. I'll just leave my part of the discussion by stating that regardless of what caused the ethanol subsidy to be established and so long maintained, I am glad that it is gone (although I suspect it may shortly reappear). Awesome, makes sense. Subsidized corn ethanol only ever made sense as a political subsidy to Iowa farmers. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -

Several years ago I worked with a fella who was a totally untreated paranoid schizophrenic. He grew quite a bit of pot on his mother's farm where he lived. Undoubtedly self-medicating with it. Anyway, like many people with schizophrenia he had the fear that the government was watching him and was out to get him. Sure enough, the summer before I moved the police surveyed the property from the air and arrested him for growing maijuana. Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you. Just fwiw, there is a large steroid culture at thousands of gyms all over the country. Even my little community gym has several users. Just stay away from them. I would tell the management the reason you left. I wouldn't expect it to do any good. Any gym that starts seriously addressing steroid use among patrons isn't going to be in business very long. Counselor, I'm not sure if it is the same case you are referring to but in some cases thermal imaging has been ruled to be a search. See the Supreme Court ruling in Kyllo v. United States. It was not from a helicopter. I do agree that aerial surveillance is not likely to be ruled a warrantless search. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
