  2. Is this the longest day of the year or what..... Hello Everyone, Before I start whining I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I’m leaving for Kauai this afternoon. Getting out of this Washington state gloom and rain for a little while. Bags packed and in the car. My flight is at 5pm. Here I am sitting at work bored out of my mind. We just completed a test cycle and there isn’t much work coming in from Production. All of my co-workers took vacation this week, I’m the last to leave for the holiday. I just looked at the clock again....Only a minute went by since the last time I looked. I just keep thinking that 24 hours from now I’ll have my feet in the sand and a cool drink in my hand. Also planning some hiking around Waimea Canyon, some snorkeling, kayaking and also take a flight in those motorized Hang Gliders. They don’t have a USPA dropzone there so I opted for the next best thing. Yes, I can jump a Tandem in Kauai, but why? That would be like putting the training wheels back on the bike. Sound like a great time? I just looked at the clock again....Only a minute went by since the last time I looked.... 4. What's the differance between one pin and two pin AAD systems? Is it as simple as 1 pin = 1 cutters.... 2 pin = 2 cutters ?? Cause they know, and so do I, The high road is hard to find A detour to your new life, Tell all of your friends goodbye
  5. Out of line? Heck no I think it's a great idea. If this seller is reasonable and legitimate, he’d agree to your request. I think you just kept yourself from getting ripped off. Lot’s of people are getting scammed of these internet transactions. You made a smart choice.
  6. Hi Johny! Welcome to the insanity! Good luck with your progression! I’m sort of new here as well. I just got my A in September. I’m a regular at Sky Snohomish. Yup I’m a Sno Ho! Haven’t been able to jump K Pow yet, but I met a couple of Bro’s at water training who jump K Pow. They said it’s a awesome DZ. I’m putting a rig together right now. Should have it complete around tax time $$$. As soon as I do, I’m heading over there. Maybe you’ll have that A by then and I’ll see ya on the next load. I got in a jump this afternoon. Puck….it was cold! BTW...A tunnel is getting built down by South Center Mall. http://www.iflyseattle.com/ifly-seattle Blue Skies Bro! ~Mikey C. 7. I finally jumped my new Revolve today. Yes, the weather has been a bit challenging lately. Other then the great “fits like a glove” fit and the sick look, the Revolved performed very well. It didn’t rattle around on my head. It was nice and snug. Not ear punching tight. Just a real comfortable fit. There were no air leaks at all. The helmet was very quiet during freefall. It was cold today, – degrees on top, so I put the helmet on for the ride up. Kept my ears nice and toasty. As soon as the green was on, I slammed down the visor and it was game on. Once I performed my canopy check, I reached up with one hand, pressed on the lock and flipped the visor up. Piece of cake, simple as that. And I had on cold weather gloves too. Great job Bonehead!
  8. 3.5 inch 12 ga.....hmmmm. That one is news to me. I did not know. So did I win the Holiday Turkey? Cause they know, and so do I, The high road is hard to find A detour to your new life, Tell all of your friends goodbye
  9. I was going to start with the most common shell size the 2.75 simpley because the 3 inch shell is so bloody expensive that it's not used much. 3.5 inch shell... not! Don't think they even make a 3.5 inch shell in a 12 ga. 3.5 inch in a 10 ga sure but not in a 12 ga. I'm going to say your shotgun is chambered for 3 inch shells and because of the BB count you used a 3 inch shell. Distance from target with the spread like that using a full choke....20 yards BB size...looks kind of big so I'm going to say #4. Smoked any Quack lately? Cause they know, and so do I, The high road is hard to find A detour to your new life, Tell all of your friends goodbye
  10. I agree, I hope I don't get to see an AAD cut a closing loop without time for a reserve to deploy. ~M Cause they know, and so do I, The high road is hard to find A detour to your new life, Tell all of your friends goodbye
  11. Yes, ok technically speaking....... I think you got my point. Nuf said! ~Mikey C. Remember....stupid kills Cause they know, and so do I, The high road is hard to find A detour to your new life, Tell all of your friends goodbye
  12. I was cruzing the USPAs website just now and noticed a Safety Notice published from Airtec about the CYPRES AAD. You can see the notice here... http://www.uspa.org/Portals/0/Downloads/SB_CYPRES_2010_10_29.pdf It basically reminds riggers that to make the AAD functional, the Reserve closing loop must be routed thru the CYPRESS cutter. If the closing loop isn’t routed thru the cutter, the AAD can’t deploy the Reserve if needed. My first reaction to this was….NFW? This can’t be for real. Must be early April Fool’s joke. Are you telling me that some riggers are so bleeping stupid this error was actually discovered…..so Airtec and the USPA had to publish a Safety Notice???? Unbelievable!!! ~Mikey C Cause they know, and so do I, The high road is hard to find A detour to your new life, Tell all of your friends goodbye
  13. See SIM section 3, sub-section F for physical handicaps and disability exceptions. Cause they know, and so do I, The high road is hard to find A detour to your new life, Tell all of your friends goodbye
  14. If you really want to do this, I suggest you doing a Static Line progression. The static line progression program starts you out at lower levels, e.g. 3500. After like 3 jumps at that altitude, you are moved to like 4500, and on to 6000 and so onto full altitude. I'm thinking as you progress up to higher altitudes, you be able to condition yourself, or determine where your cut off altitude is. There are USPA requirements which require you to perform required tasks at upper altitudes, e.g relative work. You can go to the USPA website and look at the SIM, section 4 for the requirements. Here's another thought, maybe there are exceptions for disabilities, but I don't know or am qualified to reiterate. But it may be worth looking into. Have you considered Wind Tunnels? All the free fall time without the pressure changes. Good Luck! Cause they know, and so do I, The high road is hard to find A detour to your new life, Tell all of your friends goodbye
  15. IMO...As long as you are off "radio" you can wear a full face helmet. No I don't believe there is any USPA regulations. At my DZ, students still on radio landings must wear an open eared helmet so they can hear direction commands from the instructor on the ground. I started wearing my hard helmet after 10 jumps (off radio). I recently upgraded from a Bonehead Mind Warp (open face) to a Bonehead Revolve (full face). I love it! Fits like a glove. I wear contacts and need eye protection as well. ~Mikey C. Cause they know, and so do I, The high road is hard to find A detour to your new life, Tell all of your friends goodbye

  17. Dude, you do anything with that AC system , e.g. changing the compressor (which is froze up on your car from what you describe) you'll have to disconnect the AC coolant lines. While doings so, you'll drain your AC system of coolant rendering the AC system useless. Once you've replaced the compressor, You'll need to re-charge the system with new coolant. Sorry for the bad news, but you're looking at taking the car to a certified mechanic. One question: does your AC compressor have an electronic clutch on the pulley? This device engages and disengages the compressor on demand. If it does and it's not froze up, you can un-plug your AC compressor so it will not engage the clutch, replace the original Serpentine built and drive the car without AC. Just roll the windows down and crank up the toons! You'll look sick and no-one will know. Good Luck Mikey C.
