I read your posts. I pasted it, in it's entirety right to what I was responding to. It is clear you yourself HAD NO CLUE, and if you were big enough to admit it - would instead state that you yourself may have just LEARNED something here. ...Something that you cannot do BTW, while YOUR "gums are flapping". FWIW. Yet instead, you continue to post (and post, and post, and post...) AUTHORITATIVELY - again, as if you are an authority, or an expert - which you are NOT. Again - I've learned over the years that "while I am talking" I am not learning anything. In order to learn, sometimes you need to SHUT UP AND LISTEN. Which is what I am going to do now (I've said my peace to you now on this & I am done with you). I anxiously await your next pearls of wisdom then, I suppose (from your point of skewed view) will no doubt regardless of what anybody else too has already tried (as yes - I've seen too) "advise you" / guide you about - to still rather, regardless - now be bestowed upon me. I am nobody. I've only been doing this now for @ 15 years and have just shy of 3,000 total jumps. I ask questions in here (mostly/usually ), and I seek help, guidance and answers. I provide them, when I have them - and I know them. You, on the other hand, apparently already have all the answers (to everyone / everything) though. So then, please do - feel free I suppose... Lay them upon me! - I am going back to shutting up and listening now. I will remember to just simply come directly to you first then with anything, and absolutely everything I have. Will save me a whole lot of time and bother, for sure. Blue Skies, -Grant coitus non circum - Moab Stone

You didn't know yourself (before reading other replies already now in this thread) that it could have happened well AFTER he had done his full line run-up and closed the bag - done all the line-stows perfectly AS NORMAL, but then just maybe gotten up from only needing just to close the container for instance - to get his pull-up chord, or to get himself a soda; then comes back and INADVERTENTLY in his inexperience - handled the bag such that he put it only THEN, back through a line group, that at that point CAUSED the step-through. That is also abundantly clear by your reply/post too. - BUT YOU'RE NOT GOING TO ADMIT IT! - Twit. At your experience-level you REALLY should be listening more, and posting less - unless it is yourself to maybe ASK QUESTIONS. Oh sorry, I forgot ... then again, you already clearly - are an (if not obviously THE) unquestionable quintessential AUTHORITY on absolutely everything skydiving & skydiving related. My bad. So sorry... Carry on. coitus non circum - Moab Stone

I waited (my choice I guess, but...) 800+ jumps before getting my D - and that was back when D qualified was only 200 jumps. Just for some perspective. Congratulations on attaining that 1st plateau! coitus non circum - Moab Stone

So, kinda like the families and homeowners who live within only a "Volunteer FD" protected district. To draw a parallel? When you donate to the local FD company, they send you a wallet card and a window sticker. There's several highly-publicized instances out there of just how well this "works" at times too. coitus non circum - Moab Stone -
Your internal clock will probably be screaming at you like crazy, that 1st couple of jumps back "holy-f*** ...when do I pull?!!!" Are you still a member of USPA? Even though it is (supposedly) a voluntary membership organization - most dropzones you visit, will require you have membership. You may need to make special request to reinstate your "old license". No worries there, as the #'s assigned are sequential and whatever you previously had should be easily enough "re-assigned/activated" back to you. As others have said - probably at the very least, a little ground "refresher" course, just to get you all fully re-acclimated, and a jump or 2 with a rated instructor to get you signed-off ...then, your decision as to which discipline(s) you'd like to pursue (we actually MEAN to fly on all axis' now adays ) - and you should be (hopefully) welcomed back with open arms! If you are anywhere near the mid-atlantic states, I would be pleased to be part of that personal welcoming comittee. WELCOME BACK, BROTHER! Blues, -Grant coitus non circum - Moab Stone

Not making a qualitative statement to you either way on your position on this - just "letting you know"... It's called "bounce-bingo", and it's been around for longer than you - and maybe even I was a twinkle in our daddy's eye. What is it, that Aussie fella likes to espouse when he hears such a-snivellin'? Oh yeah... ...Harden the F-up, cupcake! "Comes with the territory". coitus non circum - Moab Stone

Just for added further instance / fodder / food-for thought... Wake-boarding, kite-surfing, water-skiing, scuba-diving, trail hiking etc., etc., activities also take place along even just the confines of Essex County (Gloucester, Manchester, Ipswich, Beverly, Rowley, Salem, etc.) all the time too. I grew up in that area (where all this is now - at least with this particular bill being charged) is hailing from. I've seen in my time there, some rather "involved" rescues have to take place as a result of ALL those activities. Should those folks requiring multiple services to pull them from the surf, or rescue them when they've fallen hiking the rocky shores areas around Rafe's Chasm - or trails of Agasis Rocks be billed for their rescue services too? Think about it. Where does it end? And then who decides what is "acceptable" & when? coitus non circum - Moab Stone -

What if this wasn't a tree (read, more "spectacular") rescue? What if it was instead a "routine" injury / ambulance call to the DZ? Are they also going to start billing for those?? Just because you are "choosing" / "voluntarily" taking part in a "high-risk sport" I don't think - should NEGATE your access to public (your own tax paid) services!! Where does - or will it end then? Off-road dirt-biker crashes? Etc., Etc. - Who decides then, what is "reasonable" and "acceptable" versus what is not?? Sure - for a falsified missing persons report, resulting in an UNNECESSARY Search and Rescue or such - as some other examples have been cited - send the "perpetrator" a bill. However, this jumper is NOT a perpetrator, and this (fire/rescue) is precisely what our (and presumably his - as a local citizen ...even if he weren't though, no matter) PUBLIC SERVICE tax $ are paid for! Possible stolen/lost rig for sale on Craigslist Phoenix

Can you post a link? Mine still comes back when I click it, as I quoted in my above copy-n-paste. Edit to Add: Anne - I think your browser is still displaying to you, your cached page. I just tried the link again, from even yet again another computer, and even tried re-tracing the category/menu tree, to see if I could find it that way manually. It's been pulled. I'm pretty sure. coitus non circum - Moab Stone -
Possible stolen/lost rig for sale on Craigslist Phoenix

He's (apparently) pulled (or 'had pulled") the ad. That said, I've now gotten an e-mail off to him asking for pic's and more details. I will be happy to purchase this for $50, and keep everyone also fully informed/updated as well. If he responds. coitus non circum - Moab Stone -
I'd be interested to hear any 1st hand impressions on peripheral vision / field of view restriction(s) also of these. Too much face-padding off-set at least from the looks of them on the company's webpage. coitus non circum - Moab Stone

I am with you, Chuck. Just anecdotally, I have seen rigs being repacked, that when the rigger came to the Cypres - if it was found that it would come due ANY TIME during the upcoming cylce in which he was closing the rig - in other words, within the next 180 days (now - was 120), that rigger would NOT close/seal that reserve with that Cypres in place. It would either need to be removed for service, or serviced before he/she would re-seal it for that next subsequent possible full 180-days. Prior to these language changes - at least in my experience, I don't know of any riggers previously opening reserves mid-cycle, just to change out AAD batteries or remove them for service without a full A-I-R, then re-sealing them for only what would have been the remaining cycle term. coitus non circum - Moab Stone

I don't disagree. Like I say, I too have the same experience / observation. Maybe it is just precisely due to this, that now that I have been saddled with the burden of being "the checker" (at least at this one DZ) - I in fact, at least myself personally, DO do this. Plus, if I am presented with a rig that the AAD is already on - because we are at an elevation that can be easily +/- 900-1,000 ft within an hours commute in any direction, I will "cycle it" regardless, to calibrate it for on-site elevation. All absolutely in front of the rig owner, and with their permission sought in advance in every case too, of course. Calling the rigger on the datacard to verify/validate repack date? Just for the record too, where you bring this up - Nope, I have not myself yet ever, personally - done that (yet). Like you say, if something smelled "fishy" somehow... The (unknown) jumper "running his/her mouth", or the data card writing somehow looked suspect (seal code didn't match, - Yes, I check that too - it only takes a second ...all a part of the "details" I guess many seem to skip - - or - I recognize the rigger and KNOW/recognize the handwriting is not right) - I probably then would. Again, just FWIW. coitus non circum - Moab Stone -
There was also some debate, depending on the type/style - that the ones with the fairly decently "raised ribs" could possibly even isolate, and therefore "concentrate" (rather than dissipate/distribute to a greater area) impacts to the skull - in that way, at least in some circles and opinions, making them "bad". I personally do not take a position on that. However, I know it has indeed, at least as such - been debated. Just FWIW. coitus non circum - Moab Stone

Incorrect. At least at the one DZ I work which is an AAD required one. If I am called into manifest to do a logbook & gear check - new jumper to the dz arrival orientation, I will always check the AAD's function. If the AAD is already on when I check it, I will ask if I can turn it off, then back on (then will do it - I always at least just ask 1st, at least out of courtesy), or if it is not on, will ask if I can turn it on for them - then again, WILL do it. It is a part of my gear check-in/sign-off (for the DZ/waiver/record) routine. And before you ask, if they have 2 (or multiple) rigs, yes - I will check BOTH (and/or all), and WILL pay attention. Maybe that's just me (but I don't think so) - and then again too, in part, because I do also actually know someone 1st hand, who used to do just that!* *(put a picture of a "zero-down" Cypres inside the window/sheath) I won't name any names, but SH-GO, you know who you are! coitus non circum - Moab Stone -

Until you hear (or subsequently learn) that it is the pizza company's policy to not pay the delivery driver, if the pizza is even 30-seconds beyond (x UNREASONABLE) imposed time from door-to-door constraint. ...Then, maybe even further on top of that - dock/charge the already less-than-minimum wage (i.e. on the verge of abject poverty) driver for that "late" pizza too! - Or, that fast-food restaurant's coffee was made ON PURPOSE/by DELIBERATE POLICY so far well OUTSIDE OF EVEN REMOTELY REASONABLE (consumable) temperature ranges (levels even up to 5x beyond just "scalding" ) that it would immediately (instantaneously) strip subcutaneous layers of flesh TO THE BONE upon contact! Just sayin' (adding)... coitus non circum - Moab Stone -
My head size is 23 + 7/8's (23.875) inches. I have owned 3 separate Z1's - all of them Single XL. The Z1 Single XL (presuming you have measured your head accurately) will fit you spot-on perfectly. As Mike points out, go with/start with the Single XL. If you do happen still, to find yours "too snug" to your liking, it is only just a simple matter of liner swap-out to correct it for you anyway. coitus non circum - Moab Stone
