You betcha I have a large silhouette framed here, of a 12-way sunset dive over my home d.z...............my favorite pic. What is so priceless to me is although bodies are all black, I recognize each of those 11 bodies- without seeing jumpsuit/rig color or faces. Where I jump in Canada tandems are made with parents signature and regulations are that child must fit in harness well. Most are atleast 10 yrs. old before that is possible. SMiles

your quick rundown is very amusing! When comparing to my d.z. I can clearly recognize the groups you have described so well. You are definitely missing a #1 group though....the skydivin, birdmen, BASE jumpers. Skydivers are connected strongly, but I do not feel they = family, as my own family ties are strong. Being a proud mother - it has been easy to "mother" all my skydiving buddies, open arms to "look out" for and welcome all. Also feel I have been "mothered" by so very many over the years, regardless of male or female. 16 years in the sport I have found each and every one of us are different in ways of contributing but the ones that truly shine are giving everything they can back to the sport. I was around 5 years old when my uncle took my sister, brother and I to a evangical holly rollin church and I was terrifed. People were yelling and screaming and I cried until safe at home again. Unsure if this is why to this day I cannot stand "preachers"....or anyone trying to "sell." Went to sunday school at United Church when young and it was a nice experience.

getting chilly when the sun goes down now- (Vancouver, Canada) Nothing beats sitting around the fire at the d.z.- I can spend hours just watching the flames. Living in the city are not allowed to have a fire pit in our yards but have seen many designs of out door steel fire pits with mesh sides at local stores (so tempting to go ahead and get one!) So funny a local station here at Xmas ran a fire place burning 24/7 and ratings were huge!! People sitting around a t.v. watching flames???? Today I checked out a trial of - Spirit of Fire 3D Screensaver (3.1M) Spirit of Fire is a fine 3D screensaver that will bring the warm and cozy atmosphere of a fireplace burning in a log cabin right inside your office or home. (nothing beats the real thing but I am impressed with the quality of this one!) info here SMiles

1,309 jumps- 2 landing injuries, both off d.z. (bad spots) 1. twisted ankle in hole (broke it) landing by lake behind Kapowsin. 2. severed ACL left knee landing (dead air) infront of huge barn. SMiles

Thanx I have old A CoP (1988) CSPA and D license CAPS (1,300 jumps) So- to do anything other than solo jumps at a CSPA d.z. I need to get B CoP CSPA (may as well write C at the same time.) Don't let yourself get into this situation- it will "bite" you eventually. I want to travel my own country and jump- never alone my own province!! SMiles

So with your CSPA "A" certificate of proficiency you can jump other than "solo" in Canada? SMiles

thanx Tibet is so intelligent!...easy to train, playful & entertaining companion- wonderful loving pet. He is a strong swimmer and needs loads of outdoor exercise, just luvs anything to retrieve (especially ducks!) He is most happy at the river when he goes into his "work mode." Canadian, Novia Scotia Duck tolling retriever with mix of spaniel, setter and possible collie cross thrown in. SMiles
