Tsunami, Powell: U.S. aid will be 'billions'
smiles replied to Lostinspace's topic in Speakers Corner
This is an immediate response, not a last response..........Initial help from around the world listed at this url also: http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/2004/12/27/graham-tsunami041227.html Sounds to me you jumped right in to slam countries for their initial help.........Whatz with that?? You figure other countries are concerned their generosity will be ignored?? Your peticular petty attitude sucks a big one SMiles -
A young boy was killed in his own living room yesterday near my home---the dogs were kept locked in the basement and escaped The family owned 2 Rottweilers and a collie, and was babysitting another Rottweiler for a friend over the holidays -- all dogs were put down. http://vancouver.cbc.ca/regionalnews/caches/bc_dog-attack.html SMiles

unfortunately those that have abused drugs (or the pleasure center of their brain) do not get those rushes that last only a tad sometimes- that overwhelming content feeling- that all is well. That little burst of delight that makes us realize, all is well........... Today I baked my first loaf of bread! wow, was tickled pink---the house smells so awesome SMiles

Do you know if there is specific training taught to children, on how to deal with an attack? Do you roll yourself into a ball protecting your face- ears- and head, and stop any movement or do you get big and yell and scream, run?????? SMiles

Where I live - Vancouver: Pit bulls and some terrier breeds automatically considered vicious, must be muzzled in public and fenced in at home. Many times they do escape and are part of horrific maulings. http://start.shaw.ca/start/enCA/News/NationalNewsArticle.htm?src=n122606A.xml Info on Pitt Bulls: http://start.shaw.ca/start/enCA/News/NationalNewsArticle.htm?src=n122608A.xml I was attacked by a dog when I was young, had my hand shredded deep cuts, and over 20 stitches, it was a collie, not a "dangerous" breed as people like to call it, it was unprovoked, and the times I had met the dog up until that point it was very friendly. Should we say "don't blame the breeds, they only know what we teach them?" SMiles

panic.......stops hiccups, mind over matter- I learned in grade 4....embarrassed with hiccups in my classroom, went to teachers desk to get permission to go get drink from water fountain. He replied, I want you to go stand in front of the class right now, and give me a lecture on "grass." What? I freaked walking to front of class, and standing there....."grass is green, grass grows like a weed"........then teacher say's...."what happened to your hiccups?????" lol SMiles eustress. : a positive form of stress having a beneficial effect on health, motivation, performance, and emotional well-being.

wow! this year is the first that my boys are not here to decorate!!! ...actually when they were little would let them decorate and wait till they went to bed and then change her a tad... So many memories pulling out decorations as every year they got to choose a new decoration for the tree each. This year they will still do that -but will wait to see their choice next weekend when they add it to the tree. I pulled the tree in this morning and pretty proud I got it to stand straight in the tree stand...by myself!! Just got a 5 ft. er and nice shaped grand fir. This year I found some blown glass starfish and luv them so much, think next year will use dried starfish for ornaments too. Downstairs just decorated some branches, and had to laugh when pulling out stuffed santa....his head needed repair, had to stich back together! Man, is he old....(was a gift to me when I was little..and he wasn't new then.......) yuck...I need a new camera... but posting these anyway. Would be great to see pics of other decked trees SMiles

I am very impressed with examples you listed links to, talk about professional use of flash. Wish I had the knowledge it takes to design sites like those. Also wish I could view source!!....so much to learn. I have enjoyed my Flash4 software but really haven't improved skills in website design. One thing that really bothers me is the sans, serif, typewriter fonts and how they can view online-- so blurry compared to text in html. Wonder if ungrouping and grouping makes them any clearer?? hmmm.....should I upgrade to FlashMX for Xmas and start taking tutorials...........?? dream on! oh ya! guano site rawks as does your studio gallery!! Sample of my attempt: http://www.vancouver-skydiving.bc.ca/ (embarrassing after checking your links!) or my xmas card: http://www.vancouver-skydiving.bc.ca/xmas2004.html example site of the day from Macromedia: http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/nationaltreasure/enhanced.html SMiles

I am not in position to criticize website design.... also...unsure if I am viewing new site or old. Does appear to be a template (buttons...) also, not professional "business like design." The Mirage Systems title (homepage) is not the Mirage logo font (re: as shown on products page Mirage G4) Horizontal bar with empty slots looks to me like it could be used for buttons rather than empty slots... ahhh thanx....I suppose as usual, the more educated you are the less you worry. My mom & dad don't know anyone in the family with it. Just seems so weird that he has to be "bled", to lower iron levels, plus change his diet. SMiles

Last Christmas I was bugging my brother about his tan because he doesn't work outside and there is no-way one has a tan here in the winter.. Other than that he had lost some weight, but no other symptoms. He finally got a recent diagnosis of hemochromatosis- or iron overload and is now being "bled" 2 x a week.... says not many doctors know how to diagnose and I should be checked as it is genetic and can be fatal in time if not diagnosed properly. rusting from the inside out I am confused- will go to my doctors in the New Year. Anyone have or know anyone with this disorder?? thanx SMiles http://www.mercola.com/2003/jun/4/iron_absorption.htm

my closet has mostly lay back d.z. clothing, but my d.z. also has social events...re: out for dinner together, par tays etc. where everyone tries to "up the notch" with dressing. It never fails, you look around at all the people you sweat with- packed in aircraft and think, "wow!", everyone looks so strange! You do over the years loose the need for all the make up, earings, clothing...."need to appear as someone that really isn't you." I think females confidence with skydiving comes out in many different ways....(walk across a room with head held high, beaming with radiance, a lady of class...regardless of clothing) It is very hard for me to go shopping for clothes, I spend hr. after hr. looking to find something that "is me." But when I do- it makes a huge difference to wear something I feel comfortable in...."the proud femine lady I am." SMiles

ooops you got that backwards as skydiving is the "real world." SMiles

I listened to a song sung by Natalie Merchant 4 days ago....and can't get it out of my head. Even when I wake up it is there!! The funny thing is I didn't know the lyrics and when I looked them up found I was singing "The Gulf of R&B" instead of "The Gulf of Araby"

Our greenhouses here in the Fraser Valley (B.C. Canada) grow tomatoes(world leader premium tomatoes)... http://www.bchothouse.com/ The main greenhouse vegetable crops in BC are tomatoes, sweet bell peppers, long English cucumbers and butterhead lettuce. Crops grown in a greenhouse can yield up to ten times as much as crops grown in the field. SMiles
