  4. My world opened up when I purchased Flash 4-- (webdesign not on my mind) I am a self taught graphic designer who works in CorelDraw 09 as a recreation and Flash inspired me due to it's ability to import my CorelDraw custom graphics. (draw capabilities in Flash are for toddlers) I have just downloaded a free trial in Freehand 10 and taking some tutorials as thinking of upgrading to Flash8 this winter. I still enjoy the hell -outa Flash 4 (inspiration)

  6. thanx for pics of truck blaze......all day while I was evacuated from my home I was worried about some huge explosive blast due to gas/diesel ignited in the sewer/storm pipes?? Would that have been possible or would fuel just burn in pipes?? SMiles eustress. : a positive form of stress having a beneficial effect on health, motivation, performance, and emotional well-being.
  7. Last week I was woken up by the sound of choppers flying above my home in Abbotsford, B.C. (Canada) -- I could smell gas, the power was out. There was a loud knock at my front door and I answered to be informed by city firemen -to evacuate. Roadblocks were being set up and a gas truck had rolled as it was making a left turn on a "reverse slant" into a gas station close to my home. 22,500 litres of the gasoline-diesel mix gushed from the truck after the crash, forcing an evacuation of homes and businesses in about a one-square-kilometre area of my city. Authorities cut power to about 7,800 homes, fearing an electrical arc might ignite the fuel, and police and fire personnel evacuated 1,200 residents. Booms were put downstream from the spill to contain the fuel, which was collected in vacuum truck and stored in barrels for disposal. Fire and public works crews flushed the storm/sewer system and set up booms in catchment basins to mop up the fuel. By 10 o'clock that night the road blocks were down and everyone returned to their homes, power was on and everything o.k. I cannot visualize what an explosion this could have caused if fuel was ignited?? I do not understand how tanker trucks with 22,500 litres of gasoline and diesel worth $30,000 (or more) are not designed in a way to protect containers from cracking open during a roll or impact?? Did we have horseshoes up our ass or what?? SMiles eustress. : a positive form of stress having a beneficial effect on health, motivation, performance, and emotional well-being.
  8. All high rises I had to wait in the lobby for personel that had the "roof keys" and was accompanied up by them but once up top they usually left me with instructions to "lock up" the hatch on the way down. Did check out a few 10+ stories where the + story was the penthouse, also checked out 2 "newbies" with cranes that were close to 10+ from the top of other buildings close by. They appear to be under construction for higher than 10 stories and of course with the crane up top- figure one could just wear a hard hat, steel toe boots and access as construction worker at "shut down time" on the ground level....hide until workers gone, and access top and crane. (My gut would tell me the higher the better) Some buildings had completely flat roof, others had walls of 3-4 ft. Funny as I have no fear of heights- as soon as I used binoculars on roof of 10 story- started feeling queezy- without them felt fine. Sure got adrenaline rush being up top- have yet to experience BASE jump. 9. ya- some people driving down the streets were freaked about smoke- thought it was toxic fumes...some elderly people were upset also in old folks home where smoke was blowing up shower drains. 1 high rise had smoke inside from 8th floor up- a fish factory had smoke coming up inside floor drains, elementary schools also had smoke inside from floor drains....what a mess this old city is in.... All homes were notified 2x, city workers, fire department, police---we were featured on the local news daily, in the papers, ...........the city hired us, it is thier responsibility to notify all. 10. pretty exciting to have a new job with excellent pay- $24.00 hr. cnd. is considered fair wage by the city to contract out this job. Don't ask me why they are paying to have smoke testing done as most cities will never get around to "fixing" their problems. I do not understand why engineering department of cities do not do there own smoke testing- rather than contracting work to private company. Smoke Testing?? requires a truck, huge furnace fan gas operated, signs to direct traffic, loads of liquid smoke and home made smoke blower, .....good shades, steel toed boots, educated enough to read city provided maps of sanitary sewer subcatchment (know the sewer manholes compared to storm drains), good video equipment, radios, vests and binoculars for staff, knowledge how to open manhole covers and a few tools. I am employed as a smoke tester- and my pay covers travel time, food, motel room, gas, ferry cost. Basically I walk the streets checking for smoke coming out vents on roofs of homes while smoke is blown into sewer line. Hop in the back of truck to drive around to the next block or next manhole. Smoke comes up from catch basins, gutters, cracks in streets/sidewalks, telephone poles- when home is cross connected with storm drainage. Each home has to be walked around which means access to back yards....a few dogs, beauty gardens.... checking for smoke and recording with video camera the problems- editing of the video afterwards and records are all sent to city. To my surprise I was given position to also access roofs over 4 stories to check vents up top that couldn't be viewed from the street. (That is why when I was hired they asked if I was afraid of heights!) This means access to roofs of highrises especially- and a beauty view (just finished James Bay, Victoria B.C.) One thing I am unable to figure out is why when opening cover to manholes I could smell reeking strong odor of cannabis?? A home or homes in that 1 block radius was a grow op for sure. The only way I can figure is that grow ops are dispersing odor into sewer lines????? Anywho- luv the job, the pay, and peoples remarks when I try to explain what a smoke tester is!! 15. We all have different shaped faces and certain hair cuts work with each shape. I think most common shapes are: oval, round, square, heart, long. Your face (forehead, nose, chin) appear long so to add width and bring out your beauty eyes & smile your hair would accent your face being shoulder length with layers. It appears you have thick wavy, curly hair which add width. Bangs also add width. Avoid real short or long cuts- or short layers which add height/volume at top. Good luck with your decision! 18. IAD is not same idea as static line--- Instructor assisted deployment was not considered where I come from. Then again my dz has not trained static line for over 5 years now. Tandem/AFF only training available and considered less risk. SMiles eustress. : a positive form of stress having a beneficial effect on health, motivation, performance, and emotional well-being.
  19. Tandem was my 1st, loved the experience so much that I continued with static line ---reserve on belly (rounds)...flew about 40 rounds before flying a square with round reserve (logged 750 jumps before purchasing square reserve.) I swear I wouldn't be in the sport today if it were not for my tandem experience. 20. Sexy. Tough. Cute. Trendy. Youthful. Pretty. Tattoos are inked for many reasons, but one thing that is held in common is that they are done to add to your appearance. Getting tattooed is a very intense and personal experience. Tattoo artists really are artists. They have extensive abilities and creativity. The design’s limits are only your imagination. That doesn’t mean that getting tattooed is some kind of instant elixir of passion or that it’ll magically make you irresistible. It’s like an amplifier — the wrong modifications can emphasize the parts of you that are unattractive, but the right ones can emphasize your best features. If you want something done right, see a professional. Body Art…..works with the lines and contours of your body. A tattoo does not just have to sit there, as if someone has placed a decorative postcard on your body. The best tattoos often look graceful and eye-pleasing because of how they work with your anatomical assets. If you place something on your hip, a more flat or horizontal design would work because your hip is aesthetically oriented this way. If you were placing something on the back of your neck, a longer design may work better with the vertical slope of your neck. Lower back tattoos placed asthetically can work with your anotomical assets. Example: pic 1 compared to pic 2. My lower back tattoo was designed, to work with the contour of my body. 22. The earliest surviving Western philosophical view suggests that the soul makes living things alive. "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?" (Matthew 16:26) Many exchange the word "soul" with the word "life." The Ancient Greeks used the same word for 'alive' as for 'ensouled'. So ---I guess we all got soul!! I choose rather admit that I know what little I know, and confess that I do not know that which I do not know..........for that is the beginning of knowledge. 23. Is 100% of the Bible inspired by God ???????? (2 Timothy 3:15-16) from infancy you have known the holy writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through the faith in connection with Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching.. Who wrote it? Paul wrote that passage in a letter to his student Timothy? What did Paul mean by `all scripture'? Did he mean `the whole Bible'? Paul did not say that. He did not say, "the entire Bible is inspired." He said "All scripture is inspired." What did Paul mean by "all scripture"? “all scripture' means `all scripture” The Hindu Scripture, the Buddhist Scripture, the Muslim Scripture, the Christian Scripture and all other scripture is inspired by God? "What exactly did Paul mean?" "The whole Bible?” Paul never said, "The whole Bible." Was Paul speaking to his student Timothy about the scriptures which Timothy knew from his infancy? It was definitely not the whole Bible. The whole Bible was not yet complete. Many books of the New Testament section were written after Paul's death. Was Paul telling Timothy that Timothy knew from infancy about books which are not yet written? Table of Books of the Bible---displays a list of the Christian Greek Scriptures. The approximate dates when these books were written are shown. The approximate date given for the writing of 2 Timothy is the year 65 C.E. (i.e. A.D. but contemporary users prefer C.E. instead of A.D.). Revelation 96 C.E. (A.D.) John 98 C.E. (A.D.) 1 John 98 C.E. (A.D.) 2 John 98 C.E. (A.D.) 3 John 98 C.E. (A.D.) Was Paul telling Timothy to hold on to the above books which did not exist at the time? Many other books were written too close to the year 65 C.E. for Timothy to have been familiar with them since his infancy. Was the scripture Paul was telling Timothy about the Old Testament??...the Hebrew-Aramaic Scriptures? Timothy was familiar with that book not in its original languages, but in its Greek language translation (the Septuagint Version). That Greek translation was prepared about three hundred years before Christ to enable those who could not read Hebrew to still benefit from the scriptures. This is the version which the early Christians like Timothy were reading. Was Paul telling him to hold on to that book? The translation disagrees with the original in many points. Which should we take as the inspired book — the original or the translation? If the Hebrew original is inspired then the Greek translation is wrong. If the Greek is wrong then Paul is wrong to call it inspired —unless Paul thinks that a book is still inspired even if it contains mistakes. The Septuagint Greek version contains seven more books than the Hebrew version. These seven books are included in the Catholic Bible. They were included in the Scriptures that Timothy knew from childhood. Paul said all of it is inspired. If you believe Paul, then you have to understand that Paul was saying only that the Greek Septuagint Old Testament is inspired. Paul did not say more than this. The Bible says only that its Old Testament is inspired. The Bible does not say that its entire New Testament section is inspired. Nor does the Bible teach that the Hebrew text of the Old Testament is inspired. Verses in the Bible that claim to be not inspired: Paul's letter to the Corinthians: "To the married people I give instructions, yet not I but the Lord . . ." (1 Corinthians 7:10). "But to the others I say, yes, I, not the Lord . . ." (1 Corinthians 7:12). Notice that in the first statement Paul claims that the Lord is speaking, in the second statement Paul is saying that the statement is his very own, and that the Lord does not say it. Some books of the Old Testament claim only to be the words of a man, while others claim to contain words of God also. Many New Testament passages claim to be the opinion of men. Luke said: "I resolved also . . . to write . . ." (The Gospel According to Luke 1:1-4). Paul said: "Now concerning virgins I have no command from the Lord, but I give my opinion . . ." (Paul's First Letter to the Corinthians 7:25). Paul said: "Therefore I think . . ." (1 Corinthians 7:26). Paul said: ". . . according to my opinion" (1 Corinthians 7:40). Paul said: "I certainly think . . ." (1 Corinthians 7:40). Paul said: "See! I, Paul, am telling you . . ." (Paul's Letter to the Galatians 5:2). Did Paul know that his letters are part of the Word of God? The letters of Paul were collected and later made part of the Bible without consulting Paul (Paul was, of course long dead by this time). But Paul himself was quite conscious that he often wrote his own opinions. In one case, Paul was even aware that he made an error in one of his letters and it is now part of the Bible. I am thankful I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, so that no one may say that you were baptized in my name. Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas. As for the rest, I do not know whether I baptized anybody else (1 Corinthians 1:14:16). Paul made a mistake and then a correction. But the mistake and the correction both remain in the Bible. Is the mistake Word of God too? Paul made the following three statements: (a) I baptized no one else but Crispus and Gaius. (b) Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas. (c) I do not know whether I baptized anybody else. The mistake Paul made is his first statement that he baptized no one else except two persons named Crispus and Gaius. Then he recalled that he had also baptized the household of Stephanas, so he made this slight correction in his next statement. But the mistaken statement is still there. Is this inspired? Paul's third statement shows that he is not sure of the facts: I do not know whether I baptized anyone else (1 Corinthians 1:16). You see, Paul is not sure who else he baptized. He cannot remember. He knows he needs to correct his statement further by adding more names, but he cannot remember who to mention. So the first statement was a mistake. The second statement is a slight correction to the first. The third statement is an admission that the correction is not complete. All three remain in the Bible. Are these Words of God? What happened to Paul's first letter to the Corinthians? Paul reminds the Corinthians that he had already written to them a letter before this one. chapter 5: 9. In my letter I wrote you to quit mixing in company with fornicators . . . . 11. But now I am writing you to quit mixing in company with anyone called a brother that is a fornicator . . . . In verse 9 above it is possible that Paul is referring to what he had written in a previous letter. In verse 11, Paul is making a change to his previous instruction. So, where is that previous letter? The green grass has dried up, the blossom has withered; but as for the Word of our God, it will last to time indefinite (Isaiah 40:8). How does this reconcile with the fact that one letter of Paul is possibly missing? Once revealed, it will always be preserved? It is possible the recipients of Paul's letter did not take it as the Word of God. Perhaps people thought the letters of Paul contain important things. Others may have kept such letters with a view to refute the teachings they contain. Just because someone kept some letters of Paul does not mean they took the letters as coming from God. They knew the letters were from Paul. SMiles eustress. : a positive form of stress having a beneficial effect on health, motivation, performance, and emotional well-being.
  24. ..no doubt a huge priority for all dz operators. Possibly pressure from families who have lost loved ones, judges, lawyers, government... It's been so many years since I have seen jumpers trained static line at my dz. (Tandem/Aff the only training provided.) Regardless of top of the line equipment/training "shit happens." Without static line or IAD training dz operators would have less risk?? Government regulations are so bogus, my husband is a logger (faller) in B.C. and now he has to be certified and every saw has to have a sticker on it proving it is "WCB safety approved"....recently a incident happened with a faller that was certified and had his safety sticker on his saw........................ It is very disturbing to me your skydiving club is falling apart- also breaks my heart as this is the sport I love. No doubt in time there will be many skydiving clubs falling apart in our country.
