  1. Yeah the stow is on the rear portion of the slider in the middle. I leave my rig at the DZ, but i will get a picture this weekend and post it up. Yes, I would love to see it too. I'm too old to take many openings like Saturday, and with a slippery canopy like these new ones I think it adds a bit of a safety margin. 2. People didn't bellyache about civilian casualties when America's intervention brought peace to the world in WWII. If America stayed out of it, Countries in the South Pacific would be run by the Japanese and the whole of Europe would be under German rule. Big responsibility America has and you can't blame the whole country for the inappropriate action of a few. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  3. QuoteHey, where did you get the list of people that died by taser? Just curious because I wasn't able to find that list. As far as I know every person who has died form being struck with a taser has had underlying medical conditions. I found it here; http://truthnottasers.blogspot.com/2008/04/what-follows-are-names-where-known.html You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  4. Hate to revive an old thread but I sure wish I found it earlier since I’m sitting here in pain 4 hours after my last jump. I often brag about my Spectre 230 and how it snivels and actually came to believe that it was incapable of anything but a nice smooth comfortable deployment. Guess what? They can and will bite you like I read here. I think complacency led to being lazy about the slider as I’m sure that was the culprit. Having just packed it yesterday, I remember the slider coming down while packing and I just shoved it back. It was also a pretty sloppy pack job, but I’d done ‘em before that way with no issues. When it opened, everyone at the DZ “knew” what happened. I was told it was pretty loud. I packed it up and there’s no apparent damage as I inspected the hell out of it including all the line attachment top & bottom and did a thorough inspection of the harness. This opening put welts on my crotch, something smacked me in the face giving me a nice bruise “I think it was my arm”, and I did something to my neck and back. Tomorrow should be interesting. 5. So sit back and monday morning quarterback and bitch is more effective? Instead of a citizen academy just go do a ride-a-long and see things from the officers point of view. It was an eye opener for me to say the least. You will also learn they are not a bunch of electron wielding nutjobs like you are trying to paint. Of course they aren't nutjobs! And I know the youtube shit is not the norm. I have cops as personal friends as well as family members. I just don't like tazers!!! I don't see a need for them because they kill. I'm still from the school that says let 'em go. Except for the really serious "dangerous" shit, the normal bust probably has something to do with laws I have little respect for anyway. Remember, the drug laws in effect keep millions of people in jobs. Its not whats right or wrong, todays laws all have financial consideration. 6. I have no interest in a "citizen's police academy", its not my job. The Cops who use tasers are generally excused regardless if the recipient is dead because he or she followed department rules regarding use of the stun gun. The citizen they accosted for a minor violation is just as dead as if they had taken out their 9mm sidearm and shot him. What that means is that an offense as minor as swearing at a cop or not responding fast enough to an order from a police officer could become a capital offense. The risk to citizens-at-large is too great for police officers to be allowed to use stun guns for anything less than a life-threatening situation. Just go to youtube and see the footage of how many cops used stun guns out of anger to punish people they were forced to chase on foot or during a car chase. Its apparent in almost 100% of the stuff I have seen that the cop takes it personally. “YOU SHOULD NOT TAKE IT PERSONALLY” Get this personal shit out of your minds or get another job. Stun guns are only slightly less dangerous than real guns. In the hands of an angry cop who thinks his "suspect" is still resisting because he's twisting in agony on the ground—and gives him another pulsating burst for good measure—a stun gun can be just as lethal as a gun. 7. I don't watch the cop shows on TV, they piss me off at how a lot of police treat fellow citizens. The tazer is a dangerous weapon and if a cop can't handle someone, get backup or just let them go. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime

  9. Yes, airports can be annoying. Especially when we're trying to jump and other aircraft cause you to wait on the ground while they take up the runways and airspace. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  10. Yep.. much cheaper than that expensive process of lethal injection. We could also give them toilet bowl 'curbies' and then make them flush their own teeth down the drain. Actually, Andy9o8's method of burning them to death would be more appropriate. But I don't agree with harming their dogs. It would be better to feed their remains to their pets. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  11. Their IQ's are normal. They were raised in American and were brought up properly by literate parents. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  12. I have quite a few Arab friends. We joke around a lot since they aren't fanatics. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  13. (do you suggest marking 'these' people in some way so we can identify them. perhaps putting them in a specific area away from high IQ people) Great idea! Maybe we can make them wear a patch like the jews had to wear in Germany. How about a "Camel" patch? You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  14. I disagree. Hackers (dysfunctional human beings) who disrupt functional people should be given a choice. They can be permanently blinded or have their spinal cord severed rendering them quadriplegic. On second thought, guess who would have to flip the bill for their care? I vote for death by hanging. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  15. are we talking jews or arabs here? I don't think Israelis have low IQ's or literacy so arabs are a bit 'substandard' as humans? Substandard? I love when people twist words to come up with their own meanings. Because people are undereducated, fanatical or just plain stupid fucks, it doesn't mean they are less human. However history has shows that "these" humans generally take more from society than they give. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime

  17. When I read that a growing majority of American oppose Israel building settlements, it’s because they aren’t told the facts, just a bunch of rhetoric. The 1600 units they propose to build in Jerusalem that aren’t just for Jews, they are also for Arab and Palestinian families as well. That sounds pretty generous of Israel. Besides, that land doesn’t belong to the Palestinians, it belongs to Israel, just like Texas belongs to the United States. Actually, the Arabs and Palestinians have always shrugged the opportunity to be part of the political scene in Jerusalem. The 31 member “Democratic” City Council headed by the mayor allows for Arabs and Palestinians to be a part of all decisions in regards to building, but they refuse. Partly because they are fanatics with an extremely low literacy rate (low IQ’s in general), others are threatened and intimidated by their own people. 19. This is a good point. I wonder how many of those that have an AAD in case they are knocked out, have a reserve so small that the landing will kill them anyway. I think even a large reserve is still going to do lots of damage. Since the ram air parachute will assume a forward speed regardless, its gonna smash the face of anyone who is limp. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  20. Yeah, How about all the groups that stay covert. The ones they catch simply slipped up. Bet there are a bunch of 'em out there that wont. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  21. Where do you jump? Aside from the Cessna's (and I think you mean 182/206), almost every jump pilot I've flown with hasn't worn a rig. I have NEVER seen a Skyvan/Caravan/TwOtter/CASA/PAC pilot wear a rig. Not to say that it doesn't happen, but I am guessing it's a lot less common to have one, rather than not. Those Pilot who do not wear rigs while flying jumpers are the ones that nothing will ever happen to. They believe they are immortal. There are lots of people who take unnecessary chances. The cemeteries full of them. I personally bailed in the 70s' and I'm still here. Rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  22. I'm not sure what they're talking about, but they also claim the CompAir has some sort of design flaw that makes a spin recovery impossible, but I'm not sure if that's true. An inverted spin may be a problem, as in this case, but it may also be 'pilot error' for not knowing how to recover from an inverted spin (I have no idea how to recover from an inverted spin. I've never flown an aircraft upside down, on purpose or otherwise). The weight of the jumpers might have contributed to the problem of getting out of it. I found the best way to get out of a similar situation (which was done on purpose in aerobatic planes) was just to let go of everything and it should right itself. However the pilot should never have let it stall in the first place. There is a stall warning that should activate 5 knots before the stall as well as the buffeting most planes experience before a full stall. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  23. I jump with one, but probably won't do much good if it fires. Looking at others impaired means you will probably smash the hell out of your face and head unless you can steer. Makes a good argument for going back to a round reserve. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
