I'm in jacksonville, and made my home at deland, lots of really great and helpful people there. and the owner is awsome as well, took me an ONE other guy to altitude in the PAC on my very first solo (tandems werent ready, and he didnt feel like we should have to wait). needless to say it was nice to be able to stretch out on the bench and actually have room to breathe and think, haha. on top of that ive never had to actually wait very long for a load, they pretty much put them up damn near constantly. check it out either way, its WELL worth the drive. I'm PADI cert'd, but ive got friends with MAUI, either way i think its more about the instructor vs the actual class, Kinda like static line vs AFF, they both teach you to skydive, its more about what is more easily accessible, and comfortable to you. ok i worded that poorly, yes you can have a big affect on HOW you die, for the most part, (sometimes its just your time to go, and there isnt a damn thing anyone could have done), my point was that no matter what you do you will die eventually, somewhere some how, death comes so dont focus on dying, focus on being safe so you live longer, if that makes any sense. shit man you dont have to get old, I'm 23 years old and will almost guarantee that i've lost more friends in the past few years than most will in a life time, not due to skydiving accidents yet, they were things like car wrecks, bike wrecks, drownings, unexplainable sudden death at 17, brain cancer at 27, and a host of other things. and through all this its made me realize that no one lives forever, and you may as well have as much fun as possible, because you're time will come, like it or not. nothing you can do will change it so dont worry about it.
