    Ack!

    i dont feel tardy
  2. my roommate just got a little silver Golf TDI.. (you'll see it at Eloy regularly) and i was real impressed. Its to small for me but its seriously making me consider a Jetta. I hadnt heard any opinions of the TDI Jetta yet, but with the mileage she's getting (Perris and back on one tank) I'm really leaning towards a diesel too... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  3. and they will let you space fun jumps in between them if you have time. In fact AFI encourages it since it helps you consolidate the info you just got and try things on your own without 'performance anxiety', just make sure it fits the 'jump schedule' since they will be rather busy during the boogies. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  4. i was seriously potato chipping on my first few jumps Joe (my JM) kept telling me to relax...then on AFF 4 i just did a kata prep exercise on the way to altitude and everything was beautiful..its fairly simple and may help. close your eyes..(vizualize your dive flow while doing this and remember to see your self having fun) slowly exhale thru your nose to a slow count of 10. (make it slow enough you reach 10 with breath left) inhale thru your mouth for the same slow 10 count. repeat 3 times. open your eyes, check your gear,(and those around you, ie. chest straps primarily) deep breath as you exit helps to..( i like to exhale on go...but dont let that throw your count, its not important at all..) daves words ring best, after all just remember your about to jump out of an airplane, how can that not be the coolest thing going?

  12. cool maybe i'll get to play with one when i'm back for the xmas boogie. what are the requirements for purchase? yeah, i'm pretty excited about the idea too
  13. just switched to them actually, and its LOTS faster than my DSL..the phone lines the DSL was using sucked and i'm only 2 blocks away from the cable router.. JT how well your cable modem works (speedwise) is primarily determined by two things, distance to the router and (more importantly) # of people you share that router with at the time your using it, so after school lets out you can expect speeds to dip quite a bit ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

  15. call and ask. last time i asked their schedules werent that full..AFI has 3 instructors (Mike, Sean & Dusty) AZ FF has 2 (Omar and Steve) and there are plenty of qualifed FFers around that would be willing to coach ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

  17. no jump #/ license requirements? how about a ball master? ideally you dont lose it, but i can see lots of peeps (like me probably) losing thier shot on the first jump if they dont have qualified assistance.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

    Eloy treat

when do you get there? i'm at 181 now and will jump the first weekend i'm back..if the timing is right we could do our 200th together.. nearly every type of jump plane under the sun will be available there so the options are endless.. balloon jumps are on my list too... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  19. did 2. one just for the experience and the 2nd to make sure it wasnt a fluke.. my .02 Booooring i'd been rappelling for years before (hadnt started skydiving at the time) and it was generally agreed that anyones corpse would bungee just as well as a live subject.. and for the price? forget it. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  20. you do realize that there are lots of starving skydivers at Eloy with various construction skills, i'm sure if you smiled nicely and offered beer and/or other incentives you might get some help there too... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  21. ok well that makes more sense since if they didnt match it would be a topic of conversation fairly regularly and that could get old..
  22. well i sort of understand if your buying them together, but if its a deal, what difference does it make? are washers and dryers show pieces? arent they ussually in closest someplace where company never sees them? to me they are tools, matching is cool if its easy but function and value would seem to be FAR more important..kind of like me worrying that my hammer doesnt match the screw driver..just seems silly to me..
  23. you have much more faith in the sheep than i. the more time i spend around the general public the more i believe there should be tests to breed. the problem with democracy is it doesnt require you to think before expressing your opinion. Far to many sheep pick the nearest convenient opinion (often those spouted by vacuous celebrity) “but he plays a doctor he must know what he’s talking about” an ignorant opinion is not as valuable as an informed one

    Daughters

absolutely.. its a form of self determination.. I go by my middle name as well..my first name is William but everyone called me Bill for short and i was NOT a Bill....so sometime around 8 or 9 i started using my middle name. being a military brat it wasnt hard to change during a PCS, it took a bit for my relatives to adapt, but i think it greatly contributed to me 'being my own person' my .02 Rans ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
