ok dave i know this isnt your argument, but thats complete crap..anyone think a little rice burner doing 90 is emiting anything near the pollutants of say a 440 at idle? kinda like Montana (? i think it was) that had no speed limits but would give tickets for 'excessive fule consumption' just freaking silly...but then thats what i expect of anyone in legislation...check your brain at the door.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

sorry to hear that..slow down. OR get a radar detector, use it religiously, stay in the radar shadows of other vehicles, only speed on roads you KNOW where the trap is...i could give more bad advice too, but i wont, people shouldnt live like me if i'd had just one more speeding ticket i would have needed a waiver to join the military, seriously..the recruiter thought i was a dream find (i just walked in no work on his part) til he saw my driving record. the really funny thing is i speed MORE since then, i just have learned when, where and how to do so.. ive gotten 5 tickets thrown out since then..i love asking cops for the radar models and specs, then asking for the situational aspects. (where was he? How fast was he traveling? How many vehicles were within 10m of mine? When was your radar calibrated? Using a tuning fork? (lol) at a distance of 10m from the front of your cruiser I bet....you should see the look on their face...the other silly thing is if they backed down they could easily give me a ticket for 'excessive speed' but noo..they want to stick to their guns (as inaccurate as they are) my favorite one so far, after a cop in GA tried to give me a ticket while it was raining.."do you have any idea what the radar cross section of a raindrop is?" judge wasnt to amused, but since i could prove that the officer was using his radar out of specs.... some days i love my job, the things i would have never known otherwise.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

i'm sure if we think a bit we could name a DZ that sponsers a team, many of whom are also BASE jumpers (hint a number of them hung out in europe after the world meet.) i have yet to run into anything resembling predjudice on my DZ, other than the "you guys are nuts" comments. In fact they build BASE rigs right next to the school ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

i would almost wager more of your drive than that is in texas..once you get out it just seems to fly by.. (i slept all the way thru NM once...) Texas does have the advatage of being really flat along most of the major highways..that makes radar and laser detection very easy.. now if they get you with the air observation your hosed ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

BA in English and a BFA (fine arts) got them both at the same time (although it took 5 years) because i didnt know what i wanted..then joined the army and OJT in radar and tracking systems, the basis for the job i have now..working on my CCNA because i need some technical paper to back up my experience I agree I don’t think a degree is necessarily worth the ink used to print it..i watched far to many ignorant f$^@ graduate with various business, psych, sociology, phys ed,.. etc degrees based mostly on the archive flies their fraternities and sororities maintained. They left knowing less than when they started, but checked off the right boxes, and so graduated with letterhead from the same college I attended. Not to imply that my major(s) was better than theirs, I studied what interested me, not what I thought would help get a job, but I did learn quite a bit in college and it really affected my world view. I doubt most of them can say the same. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

To "B" or not to "B"? Or, should I just wait and "C"?
Zenister replied to ECVZZ's topic in The Bonfire
my plan was "A to C" too, but then i realized I was close enough to get my D instead so..I'll take the test sometime during the Xmas boogie after i reach 200 and get another night jump in, everything else ive already done i think ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
most tandem passengers never seem to know that anything went wrong..i guess with a line over they tried to clear it for a sec? so he had time to see both canopies? i've seen 3 tandem cutaways in the short time i've been jumping, none of them would have had any clue if they hadnt been told after the fact.. Quote "Suicide Kings" - Starring Christopher Walken "Pitch Black" - Starring Vin Deisel, a cultish favorite of mine "Prince of Darkness" - a John Carpenter film, a diamond in the rough. Quote some of my faves there.. don’t forget Claudia Black is in Pitch Black too droooool another Great horror flick that is under recognized.. “Mr. Frost” .. Jeff Goldblum can be surprisingly scary.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
