hmm thanks for the help... seems to have settled..the drivers were up to date, but the linksys 3rd party client didnt seem to have installed correctly..still configuring it thru XP but the client now shows in the tool bar and give the full statistics.. tis not my network to play with, or I'd probably set up authentication by MAC address, but its easier just to use WEP the way machines move around here... VPN has worked on my laptop here before, but it is a pain and this is my gaming machine so i dont bother with it... edit:hopefully its not an overclock issue...ive been running this one this way for nearly 2 years (with an extra heatsink/fan for that reason) and it hasnt hickuped yet, but she is getting a bit behind the times, even overclocked.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

ok since Pammi got all you wireless guru's spun up... can anyone tell me why the Linksys2.4GHZ (802.11g) PCI card (WMP54GS) i just put in this machine..(overlocked 800Mhz P3 Win XP) (the lan cable was annoying the roommates) keeps disconnecting from the Airport wireless router(MAC) they have installed? i get good to excellent signal strength at 54mb and we've set up WEP and it seems to work well, but after about 10 min (in use or not) it drops the connection...its easy to reset, but this simply wont work for gaming at all.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

i'd compare it to having a freshly minted pilot's licensee trying to tell you about the latest greatest changes (which are actually additions/modifications that have been out for 10+ years and are well known in the aviation industry) in aircraft maintenance as if it were information just handed to them from God, that you we're supposed to be completely unaware of... and there is a pattern of this behavior on some peoples part that you might not have noticed as well.. the point is to get everyone to THINK before they (re)post something the majority has already seen, already watched and it pretty much over after the 1000th time...it is amazing how many people cant even conduct a proper search here to see if it has been posted before.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

I have a feeling you haven't been to 3/4 of the countries and continents I have. I’ll take that bet, particularly since the only continent i haven’t been to is Antarctica... There are people that I’ve lost it too, but not many and not often...... but then i travel for a living, and for pleasure...this will likely be the slowest year for me in the last 10, since i broke myself, and I’ve already been in more countries than most people will visit in a lifetime... I’m not whining, no matter how skewed your perception. Simply from the number of ‘new to you’ links you post, you seem to spend a lot of time on the Internet. Perhaps you should pause for a moment and wonder 'am i the first (or even 4000th) person to see this??' before you repeat it for the 100,000th time.... self restraint is a wonderful trait, sounds like you need to practice it... but I’m not a moderator so if it fulfills some inner need of yours to continue to post tired, repetitive, unoriginal links that in most cases have been around since the dawn of the internet (and certainly the dawn of bad flash video)..... it is a free country... and HH gives us this house to play in... some people like to watch the same TV shows again and again and again…… I’ve got some neeto coin & card tricks you might not have seen 10,000 times too ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Suppose that your state of residence requires your driver's license to be renewed only every six years. And suppose that the other states around you require their driver's licenses to be renewed every four years. And based upon that renewal disparity, would it then be proper for the four-year states to refuse to recognize driver's licenses from the six-year state, because they don't have the same responsibility and requirements? Would you then feel that it would be appropriate for the police in the four-year states to issue you a ticket when you enter their territory, for driving without a valid license? all Arizonans would be screwed..our licenses dont expire until we turn 64..no matter when they are issued... one reason i kept my residency when i was in WA... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Nah. Some people just have lives and no time to sit with their pumpkin in front of a monitor 24/7. wanna compare passport stamps? if ignorance were painful half the world would be addicted to morphine... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

oh well i guess it comes from being continually amazed how little people are exposed to the world (including the internet) around them... seems like many people are just discovering the wheel and still think fire is magic ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

you aren’t kidding... i really really keep wondering why other people on the internet don’t realize the rest of us are also on the internet.....its not as if your sharing it with your technologically challenged grandmother… I’d almost guarantee any of these silly flash movies have been seen by the majority of posters here before it reached here....same thing goes for cute or thought provoking emails you just got in your inbox...before you post it to the world for the 137358745048th time...perhaps people should pause and think "am i the first person on the internet to see this???" ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Operation:Dumbo Drop Honeymoon in Vegas also when you say 'skydiving' do you only mean freefall or does all the static lines in every military movie count? how about BASE? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

following the 'its terrorists!! they are going to kill us all" developing panic..... given the small number of BASE jumpers in the world, where exactly do you think they got their training at ??? the simplest answer is usually correct, no matter how high they raise the wolf puppet and play the scary soundtrack... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

hell i'd be impressed if you could get OLN to include skysdiving in the list of 'gravity' games....the ones they have listed play with gravity for less time than we do... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

real wing? is the rigidity of a wing what makes it 'real' havent tried hangliding yet...something about it seems 'wrong' to me.. i cant quite define what... I'm far more interested in learning to soar than hangliding...although paragliding interests me from a canopy control standpoint... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

because the books are based on the plot arc created by lucas long ago....before he lost his mind and became a corporate whore, with more interested in neeto toys and marketing than good writing... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

I did a quick search and it didn't come up. your kidding right? this is in the running for MOST reposted link even in an election year...... sometimes i wonder if why people on the internet sometimes fail to realize that everyone they interact with there is also on the internet..... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

if their actions for publicity's sake make it harder for 'average' BASE jumpers to access any object it is a BAD thing...does the public really need to know what, where, when you do what you do? Why? Oh yea some people want to live the ‘rockstar’ lifestyle. Do you jump for yourself or for the money and fame? honestly their drink tastes like crap and the publicity they gain seems to do very little to actually help BASE (or skydiving for that matter) and more to line their corporate coffers by trying to show wuffos how ‘extreme’ they can be simply by drinking a sports drink. I for one, refuse to buy, drink or the stuff or support the corporation that employs such tactics… ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
