hmm i pretty much only boycott musicians when their music sucks... after all no one is buying a political opinion when they purchase a CD.... some people are wired really really strangely if sound somehow connects directly to political leaning and therefore affects how they perceive music... did you like it before you learned they supported unrestricted access to inflatable monkey balloons? how does that knowledge affect the melody, rhythm, progressions and intervals you enjoyed before?? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

a good way to practice is to focus on an image or event that will que you to the fact you are dreaming.... I used a stop sign in a wheat field initially (if you find it you might be able to follow me ) seems you already have that with the paralysis dream... but being able to relax and impassionately will what you wish to occur is the next step... most people start with flying because it is a very obvious sign that you are dreaming and its something nearly everyone dreams about... once you are flying try to focus on the specifics.. turns, spirals, dives etc.. and not on the "WOW I"M FLYING" [I]which will usually wake you up[/I].....it sounds silly but the less you ‘think’ about it the easier it is to maintain...eventually you’ll realize you can affect any dream in nearly anyway you wish…….. of course becoming lucid will affect how the rest of your dreams progress.. its very easy to 'derail' them with conscious effort.. but at some point your mind will force you to dream about whatever it is your ignoring... those kinds of dreams (being aware of dreaming and unable to affect it) are the only real 'nightmares' i've had in 15+ years... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Whew! Then I am lucky! I've done that many miles in a week a few times over the last year! Guess it wasn't my time! it isnt safe... i've lost 3 people i became friends with in 2 years... not good numbers.. but i've also lost more (death toll is up to 6 with another looking over the edge far to often....) to other activities with less personal rewards... simply driving for example... yes its dangerous, you dont get to decide how you die really, but you can decide how you want to live before you do... I have brought 8 tandems out to various DZs, all good friends who i wanted to show this wonderful experience too.. chased 5 out even. Everyone of them knew up front this was something that could kill them, even if everything went right.. it was emphasized by me and confirmed by their TM's before they jumped.. all of them loved their jumps, i've told a few i'd help them out with a loan to get thru AFF if they were interested, but that they had to make the calls and set it up on their own.....not one has yet....but i'll still get anyone who shows interest out to the DZ...sometimes people need a little push... i knew SDAZ was there from the first few weeks of being in Phoenix...but it took MissMae saying "hey come out and try this" before i really did...and it changed the way i look at the world... anyone, everyone who makes a skydive, even a tandem should accept the risks as they are, and decide for themselves, its not something you can do for anyone else.. no one is responsible for your life but you... no matter what some people might believe ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

No. I save my outrage for when i have facts to back it up, not rumors and allegations that are really only being raised because he was running for office... do i think he deserved those medals? no, not based on the descriptions for how he 'earned' them, but that decision isn’t up to me, or you, or anyone commenting after the fact. the only person it is up to was his commanding officers who recommended (and approved)him for them... giving out medals and ribbons for nothing and next to nothing has been pretty standard military practice for centuries, it wasn’t any different in Vietnam and it isn’t any different today....."give me enough ribbon and i can conquer the world' -N. exactly.. that is the point.. as long as it is information only with the parents being allowed to make the decisions, why not encourage parents to seek as much information on the health and status of their offspring? would it be better to have them completely unprepared for dealing with a life long illness? I dont see it as significantly different than using a sonogram to determine sex....unless the government writes polices make it so there are significant advatages to following their recommendations (aka china and male/female ratios) the choices are still left to the parents who now have more information to make informed decisions... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

How is information ever a negative? As long as the parents are given the freedom to decide what choice is best for them what difference does it make? Wait a minute. Ya gotta put that in context. Film cameras were pretty common to record experiences back then. I remember getting back super 8mm films of cousins of mine in Vietnam. Today, people take digital video and film cameras.
