This depends entirely on how much money the juristiction has for overtime and how much overtime the individual already has in the pay period...what is 'rare' in some locales is rather common in others....but you'd have to be inside to know for sure....I've fought several tickets that were clearly (in my mind) the officer abusing the system and the measurement tool(radar) in the enviroment (raining) All told it cost me more in immedate money to travel back and show up...but I've yet to have the ticketing officer show up for any of the tickets I challenged.....probabbly because they knew they were pushing the envelope to increase county revenue and were going to get called out on it....ofc per my LEO relatives it could just have easily been a supervisor worried about his overtime budget ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Other than the GSM Network there are applications to address all those issues..keyboard takes some getting used to if you have large hands but that comes with practice...had a Treo for years and the Droid is a great step to a 'modern' smartphone.. It would be worth it. Agree completely. If direct sponsorship removed all the undesired advertising I'd be inclined to resub. The new 'look' is aesthetically unpleasing, end result being LESS motivation to check the forums. Advertising has no effect on me anyway, most of it is blocked and I dont bother to read that which isnt. But the negative space is just ugly. I know HH has to pay the bills, but this change makes me want to look for new skydiving forum to 'hang out' in. Once again what was 'home' is overrun by the need to "be a business". If I'm not around much let me take this moment to say it was great fun for a while, many good times, good friends and good information. The diagrams offered thus far, particularly the ones that propose relative wind coming from anything other than generally down, are what invites the laughter. sounds to me like its time for the worker bees too explain to management how things really are. I almost guarantee there is some mid level meddler implementing said ridiculous policies simply for the evaluation bullets. When enough ruckus is raised that the real decision makers take notice of what as actually going on below them (most accept the word of their subs until it becomes apparent they are being fed a line) such BS policies generally vanish. That or the really productive people go to work for the competition. To many decisions handed down from the 'adminosphere' is bad for both productivity and the bottom line. Completely agree, the only issue becomes when you get to far into one class to change (certainly affected my GPA in few semesters of college) and then becoming completely distracted from the educational process (also happened to me when I was confronted by situations and issues I hadnt learned to deal with yet) Far to much of the 'modern educational system' is focused on memorizing and regurgitation of specific 'facts' and not enough on teaching the student 'how to learn'. it is very much the 'give a man a fish vs teach a man to fish' applied to the education process itself.
