i jump at a turbine DZ, and we have done high altitude hop-n-pops where everyone is leaving just a second apart, you have more seperation than you would think. Exit stable and pull, it is an emergency after all. Bill have fun, love life, be nice to the humans

both your top jpg and the drawing are the same... so you might just be right... and someone that did the gear check should have noticed that... BUT... it is a serious packing flaw and the packer, whomever it is, might consider packing more slowly, or another packing class maybe. That has to be done before you ever close the container... it should have been very clear there was an error to anyone... I guess you just can't be too careful. No harm no foul I guess... thanks for sharing. You said the bridal was routed wrong that it went under the third flap... do you mean that you ran the bridal to high and that it went under the flap on the way out? i am just trying to get it here... because my mind sees that the bridal belongs under the third flap on a Vector or second depending on how you choose to do the flaps, i have seen Vectors with the flaps numbered both ways so left first or right first shouldn't matter. I do top, bottom, right, left on them. One time i ran mine to high up and it caught on the bottom flap on the way out, is that what you are saying happened? Please let me know a litlle more if you would. If it is, you really don't want people doing a gear check to pull that bridal out every time... especially in the plane. I don't see a way to check that without pulling the bridal out and re-routing it yourself. Any ideas? Bill have fun, love life, be nice to the humans

Welcome to the sport. Don't freak out over the incidents that happen, just keep your mind on doing what you are supposed to do and it will be fine. This is the greatest sport ever, learn about what spooks you and ask what you can do to avoid it... i have never asked a question of anyone in the sport, no matter how many jumps they have, that didn't take the time to try and help or point me to who could. Ask tons of questions, every single one you have, you will feel better about jumping, and you will learn so much. Have fun Canuck, Bill have fun, love life, be nice to the humans

You can sort of skip, like i am going to get my C without ever having my B, you have to take both tests but only one fee is charged... Bill have fun, love life, be nice to the humans

i have velcroless toggles too, i route the excess line through the loop at the top of the riser where the ring that attaches the lines is, then pull the top of the toggle out of the elastic stow, put the toggle through the loop in the execss and put the toggle back in the elastic. it stows the excess and releases it when I release the toggle Bill have fun, love life, be nice to the humans

Is there any indication what made their brakes un-releaseable? just curious. Personally i am releasing the brakes pretty much duing opening since my sabre needs help inflating the end cells nearly every time, but still i am curious what would cause he brakes not to be able to be un stowed. maybe a bit scary but better safe than sorry, and if everyone is ok, like you said, free hop n pop... and if the pilot says to leave the plane the best plan is always to leave the plane i guess. Glad you guys are all fine Bill have fun, love life, be nice to the humans

Making stow bites too big, a close one...
ifallout replied to GrumpySmurf's topic in Safety and Training
It looks to me like a 6 inch line stow is asking for a one stow through the other line lock? i mean I am glad your friend has done that so many times and had good results and all, but no canopy manufacturer is ever going to say that is a good idea. I have a friend that drinks and drives all the time, must have 50000 miles like that, still don't make it a good idea. Bill have fun, love life, be nice to the humans -
Relax, relax, relax. take a deep breath, think about the wind, and just get in it, you know what is going to happen, same as before. I find it is easier to count if I actually yell the Ready Set Go parts, it seems to make the movement more pronounced. When are you going to get up here and jump with me? There is a boogie this weekend you know, we could jump on your count, heheh Bill have fun, love life, be nice to the humans

"ok, lets say this is true. then by what merits do we judge a president's performance? " Forigen policy, where he can and does make a difference, that is his job afterall, not the economy, I wonder more why we think it is, Congress is who spends the money and makes the rules. "Clinton wasn't responsible for the economic boom of the late 90s and Bush isn't really responsible for the downturn we're experiencing now." There is no one person, just because you can't say who it is, is not a reason to say it is the President "let's say this is true. who is in control then? the citizens of the u.s.a.? " Spending has a far bigger effect than anything the president does.. so yeah "i hope your right, i sincerely do. but i know there are a bunch of folks out there right now pretty much unsatisfied with the current administration. it's either highly coincidental, or just the "cycle" of economic woes, but the economy always seems to do better when we have a democrat in the oval office. " Yeah Jimmy Carter had a great economy going for him. "and what about making "deals" with traitors? that don't hold water with me, current administration, or previous administration....that's B.S. i'm sorry. I agree completely, that is why Jane Fonda pisses me off, wait isn't she a democrat... just playing, don't get pissed, but the truth is that we keep putting people in office over and over no matter how bad they fuck up... on both sides Bill have fun, love life, be nice to the humans

i have to go with the "your word is your contract" people here, not that it is a big deal to some people i guess, but for me, my word is the deal, even if it costs me a few dollars. but to each his own i guess. Bill have fun, love life, be nice to the humans

Out here you can make tandems at 14, jump solo at 16, drive a car at 18 (sounds quite logic to me) and there is no one that tells you you can't drink untill you reach a certain age, and I don't believe that Belgium has a higher percentage of drunks than the USA! So you think that since the rule is a lower age that equals more freedom? it is exactly the same number of people affected, just that they are younger there when they can do things, not that you don't have laws, just that you drew a different line. I think that a 16 year old jumping can easily hurt others, their parents for one, when they put that 16 year old imortality to the test. but just a point it is the home of the brave. Bill have fun, love life, be nice to the humans

i like to offer them comfort on their first tandem, by telling them not to worry, that I heard them chew out the TM and they told him if he drops one more he is out of here. besides whats the wrost that could happen? Bill have fun, love life, be nice to the humans

Wow i was pretty sure there was an 18 year mimimun by law??? Guess not, but then it is not the first thing I have been wrong about. I bet the law suit would be won by the family on that one... how can he waiver? Bill Play hard, Pull high, Pay attention Bill have fun, love life, be nice to the humans

Seems like a couple of minor mistakes, and that you realize what they were. I am sure there are no error free skydivers out there, use the no harm no foul rule and pay more attention next time you will be fine... My friend passed me in free fall while my canopy was opening this weekend, i could see the oh shit look on his face, bet he doesn't do that again. Bill Play hard, Pull high, Pay attention.
