PM user: TomBegic. He released it. There are 2 versions of "Beyond Extreme". One is about 31 minutes long, the other about 45 min. long. The longer one has that quarter second parachute rides (two of them), coverage of Bridge Day 2000 (with the guy jumping Icarus Extreme 79 and swooping the river...), jumps from KL Tower in Malaysia (including skysurf) and BASE lineover and cutaway. You probably have the shorter version. The only place to buy the FULL version is from its producer Tome Begic at http://tomarent.tripod.com/video.htm The FULL version is WAY better. Get it! You won't regret... Also, check this post: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=757029#757029 Supposedly, there is also a third, even longer version of Beyond Extreme, but it was not an official release...

Brussels, 4 May, 2007 VIGIL NOTICE It has been reported to us, that some full stainless steel cutters in the field have damaged and cut reserve closing loops while the container is being closed. This has only been reported on cutters placed on top of the pilot chute. It has only occurred on some cutters from the batch shipped during March and April of 2007 ( Printed D.O.M. + batch number on the cutter body is “03-07-1” or -2 or -3 ). It is our thought, that the movement between the grommet on the container/pilot chute, and the cutter body while the container is being closed is causing this damage. It is estimated that about 10% of this lot of cutters may cause this problem. It has occurred on four cutters in Europe, and three in the USA so far . All the cutters remaining in our stock have been returned to the manufacturer for inspection. Some of these cutters have a slightly different shape to the hole that can be the cause of this type of damage. AAD is busy investigating the reports and working in conjunction with the cutter manufacturer to determine the exact cause. Once we have further information we will issue a product service bulletin with a resolution for our customers. If you have a unit that was delivered during this period, and have the cutter location above the pilot chute, you should be aware of the potential for loop damage. We also urge you to inspect your reserve closing loop. If damage to the loop is found, please contact your dealer or info@vigil.aero for further instructions. As soon as we have more information we will post this and issue a service bulletin with further action. VIGIL Team

Details, please

He is talking about the RESERVE pin.
-
True. It looks curved, but the functional part of the pin is totally straight.
-
Do you think it would open? Terminal? Non-terminal?
-
It used to be the same in Germany.

FAA server goes up and down, here is a different, working link to the same document: http://www.parachutemanuals.com/Other/FAA-Handbook-8083-17.pdf -
Plus, does any third party observe the tests? I mean, the company could drop the rig 100 times, it would work only 10 times, and note these 10 times in the book, as "it worked 10 times out of 10!". How is this prevented...? I believe in France it is the government that does the tests, not the manufacturer.

Here it is! It is not so known (Google finds only six websites on the Internet that refer to the pdf's name). Written in 2005 by Sandy Reid, TONS of gear info, COLOR photographs of equipment, useful tips and info. Download it for FREE from here: http://www.faa.gov/library/manuals/aircraft/media/FAA-H-8083-17.pdf 344 pages, 45 MB! edited: same document, better working server: http://www.parachutemanuals.com/Other/FAA-Handbook-8083-17.pdf -
