  1. I'm leaving Friday morning for IL again. I'll try to drive it up tomorrow (Wed) night or Thursday. My Samurai is at the DZ too...Big shame I can't jump it this weekend. But, hopefully the interview goes well on Monday and I won't have to be unemployed too long...
  2. Thank you Ma'am, may I have another?
  3. I had Direct TV at my last two places. Really liked it. Install was free, just watch Best Buy for deals. The two room system was 99$. When I moved, they sent me a new dish and installed for free again. Only cost to me the second times was @ 13$ for shipping on the dish. Monthly cost was @ 45$ but I don't recall the package I had. I setup dish at work. The only major difference was the customer service when I had to call in for something. My vote goes to Direct TV.
  4. I'll be about 17 hours closer...
  5. Just a note: Be aware that I did get threatened with a ticket by driving my golf cart down the road. Oops. The officer gave me a brief speech and asked me not to do it again, then sent me on my way... ----- ~~~Michael
  6. The other half of the company I work for was in 2 World Trade. Because news reports were sketchy, I had called my counterpart in NY to see if she knew what was going on. I have a TV hanging above my desk and was watching the live news feed and relaying what I was seeing. The rest of the conversation went like this: Me "Oh shit!" NY "What?" 2nd plane crashing in to 2 World Trade is shown on TV. Me "I think you need to go." NY "I think I need to go too." Me "Be safe and call when you are." NY "OK" 3 hours later, I received calls from people I knew in NY, all of them safe. It took 3 days to track all of our NY office people down, but everyone was physically OK... Even with everything that happened, the I.T. group pulled together and we were able to function as a company again in about 12 hours. Some people have left, others have stayed. the NY group has a much closer attachment to eachother now and things that they grabbed off their desks, like palms or pages, before heading out of the tower. They get emotionally upset when the device quits working and a new one is recommended.

    RIG RESCUED!!!

Well, I'm now in possession of several bags of clothes, my rig with an out of date reserve ($40 and a case of Heinekein will fix that tomorrow night), one camera helmet, both my still cameras and my video camera. Currently on a borrowed puter, but I've ordered a new one and it's somewhere between Memphis and Denver right now. Pre second Birdman jump on Saturday and my new Samurai has been confirmed as enroute as well. Have a couple job interviews setup for the 17th & 18th in Illinois and my last day at the current job will be April 9th based on my current timetable. Things are starting to look up!!! Thinking on my way out of town, I'm gonna stop by the house and take my garbage can.
  8. Just don't come to Colorado...We, unfortunately, fully understand Texan's and Californians too well. That's why I hide everytime it snows. The Texan's think they're invincible in their 4x4's and SUV's and the Californians have never seen snow so they drive slower and more erratic than my g-ma. **disclaimer-This generic rant does not necessarily reflect the driving abilities of all Texans and Californians in Colorado. Others are worse... ----- ~~~Michael

  19. Now the funny thing about that jump, even though it was sanctioned by Bernice, none of the people involved with the jump were regular WFFC staffers. We borrowed the tandem rig from a DZO friend and grabbed another friend from another DZ to shoot the video. All in all it was fun. Just need a new video now...

How many times did you two watch it? Got it once through just the video on Friday night, 3 times including extras on Saturday and 4 times today so I can say that's it's been thoroughly tested.
