  1. Please never ever sell a canopy to any of my friends Angela. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  2. It's as reliable as you allow it to be. If your car runs outta gas does that make it a unreliable car, or a poor owner? If your product isn't working correctly, Alti-2 will gladly replace it (least that's been every experience I and everyone I know has had with them). Of course that means you have to let them know it's faulty. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  3. A Katana of ANY size IS playing with the 'big boys'....but I think you realize that now. This post is more for those who are thinking about it. It's simple folks, if you don't think you can handle a X-brace, you're not ready for a Katana - they are so much so like a velocity that I fly the 2 almost identically. Please, I know you can all be spectacular pilots in time, with the right training and the right experience. Live long enough to gain both. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  4. Ok people. Don't think it can't happen to you... Seriously...I doubt many (if any will listen) but are people that naive that they think it 'can't happen to them?' Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  5. Neptune Wave I believe they retail for $200. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  6. Afrikaans and English, that's it. I know a quite a few of my S.A brotheren are trilingual though. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  7. HA! - No worries Remi. No matter how deep in the closet you are, we still love you (in a supportive way, not the man love way)
  8. Yeah I hear you're into that. Least I know what to get you for your birthday Performance Designs Factory Team
  9. Ok folks, I've been chatting with the DZO to find out exactly what's on the books. He's working on another aircraft as well as having the king air and a couple of vendors are in the works to come out. I'll post the details when they're finalized to keep the info as accurate as possible. So - who's coming!! Blues. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  10. Try PM johnny1488 , I think he'll know who to send you to and he's in your area. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  11. hmmm I don't think that came out quite right Umm....I mean.....crap.....ok I just like hot woman touching me...but can we leave my ass out of it? I've just had the worst luck with 'ass' threads lately.... Performance Designs Factory Team
  12. Why does the thought of you doing that turn me on? Performance Designs Factory Team

  14. errr, don't feed the drama. It's only dz.com. Breath, relax - we're not curing cancer here Performance Designs Factory Team
  15. It's ok for you to play for both teams. In fact I encourage it Performance Designs Factory Team
  16. I try not to patronize people who ask for my advice by 'dumming down' their skill level. I make an honest assesment (with the info I have access to - which, granted, online can be especially limiting) and give them advice that I believe will set them on the track with the highest chance of success and achieving their goals. I don't give people any advice I don't believe in or follow. There is no 'fast way' in canopy flight. The way that initially seems the fastest (to the inexperienced eye), ends up being the longest. You can spend time learning it now (when you dont have to fight habit and muscle memory) or you can spend it later and take 2x as long breaking all the bad habits later. Either way you pay the piper. How much is up to you. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  17. So lets get this straight, you expect other people to follow experienced jumpers advice (since you refer them to the experienced jumper) but you don't take experienced jumpers advice cause you know what's better for you? So you knowingly made a bad decision - hope you don't apply that mentality to flying your canopy. It's the kind of stuff that gets people in trouble. Ahh, so if everyone's doing it then it's ok to follow the trend? See, you're all going through what we're (I hope) coming out of. It's an old school mindset that's slowly changing, but go ahead - reinvent the wheel. When you're truely ready to progress, you won't need to. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  18. Yes you can. Manufacturers do, why shouldn't a second hand seller? I agree 100%. Jumps definitely aren't everything in that if someone meets the "minimum" then that doesn't automatically make them ready. However, if someone doesn't meet the minimum they aren't ready period IMO. edit: Don't confuse not ready with "definitely will frap in". I know plenty of people who made poor choices. Some made it through, realized they made poor choices and had to go back and relearn. Others didn't make it through at all. One way or another you have to stop and learn. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  19. Well, like some of the posters have already said it isn't only about jump numbers. But even with that in mind I wouldn't sell that canopy to someone with less than 500 jumps - no matter the wingloading. Thereafter I'd still call the DZO and/or S&TA to confirm the person was ready for it. Like Phree said, their previous canopy would also have a lot to do with it. If they were skipping a bunch of canopy sizes I'd probably not sell it to them either. Ultimately I'd make my decision on whether or not I thought they weren't ready for it (based on the limited info I'd have). If I felt I'd done everything reasonable to make sure I wasn't intentionally putting them in over their heads I'd make the sale. In the end, it's whatever you feel comfortable with and believe IMO. Like stated elsewhere in this thread, I feel a certain amount of moral responsibility so I'd want to make sure my conscious was clean. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  20. You need to go read PD site. They have a good article on wingloading and it's effects. It deals specifically with the misconception that 1:1 on a 100 sq ft canopy is the same as 1:1 on a 170 sq ft canopy. a 97 is a 97 - regardless of the loading. It'll still fly and dive like a bat outta hell. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  21. I don't quite think that's what he meant Travis. Ps: You're a dillhole Performance Designs Factory Team
  22. Funny you mention that cause it is a possibility, and something I think of from time to time. It's not so much the gum, but more the distraction of doing something else that takes your mind off creating tension on the dive.
  23. Hey, Just so we're clear, these are clown glasses and in no way meant to follow this goggle trend crap - it was just a funny picture a friend took of me. Now, with that out of the way, shouldn't you be feeding your polar bear? Performance Designs Factory Team
  24. You ever consider the fact that those of us who keep ourselves smoother do it for ourselves? Not everyone who does this stuff is doing it for someone else. In fact I suspect most aren't. Of course I bet you shave, right? So why do you consider it ok to shave some areas and not others? Surely you're not letting society pressure you into shaving your armpits and legs? After all, wouldn't that make you 'not a real woman'? Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
