You will breathe my shit molecules on the way to altitude for that...... Performance Designs Factory Team -
Hey Scott!! Our team is about to get Matter Suits. I'll let you know what we think of them when they arrive, however, so far I've heard nothing but good things about the proconcept suit. Hmm, sorry to hear you had that experience. I've only dealt with Frida (in Perris) and she's been awesome. If you'd like I can put you in touch her. 385 Euro's? Nah - while the price is effected by the euro it's around $400 for the suit now. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Cool. If the weather co-opertates I'll leave work early on Friday and get to The Farm around 5pm. That should allow at least 1, hopefully 2 runs on the course before sat. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team -

Hope to see you there Dan. Even if you're still getting the 135 dialled in, it'll be good to have you there keeping us on our toes -
See, I think it's harder, for example, to teach someone to sit well in a baggy suit. Their legs keep getting blown up and they fight the suit all the time, not learn how to fly their body. I just think it's the natural progression of Freeflying. After all we don't still have people buying baggy RW suits to learn. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

CPC round 1 - Southeast Region 5/5/2005

Yeah I figured Hans, Dave and a couple others would be there but I was more curious on those who'd actually be competing for CPC slots. #1 asshole? Yeah we all already knew that. Title changed and no way in hell I'm changing the spelling of your name Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team -
I'd agree with Brie. Assuming you're not 5'10 and 100 pounds (light and long limbs) you should be able to fly comfortably within the speeds of a 'reasonable' sitfly. Something else to consider is excessive drag on the jumpsuit. While you should still be able to fly with people, it can make your life much harder than it needs to be. Normally the competitions run for 1 full day. Not sure when the official start time is, but normally it's around 9am. Assuming the weather co-operates Saturday would be all that would be needed. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team -

We're smoother than the ground. Did it ever occur to you that most people are tired of saying the same thing over and over again? Performance Designs Factory Team

He touched water 50 feet past the gates (least that's what I hear). He also went on to actually stop around the 525 mark - so if he hadn't touched it'd be there or further. Now that's some serious distance Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Wow - I wonder how Katie (my wife) managed to do just fine under a 170 loaded like that for 200 jumps Our students and new grads seem to do fine under their mantas, assuming they fly wisely. Performance Designs Factory Team

Laurel, I'm so sorry I didn't write sooner, I just found out about this. Katie and I are thinking of you two. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Yep, while a definite valid point, I'd bet JT and the others weren't hitting the gates 200 foot back (although hitting the gates too early is much more common in the advanced categories). I'd guess, based on the sudden drop on the scores, that the winds either shifted or gained strength throughout the day. Rounds are normally spread over a decent portion of the day. Edit: Also not always 'hitting it quite right' plays a big factor. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Choosing a University for Undergrad: What is important

Congrats Angela -
*sigh* First, get the chip off your shoulder. If you actually read my post I'm not saying anything about what numbers you can cannot jump a camera at. I'm talking about mindset and awareness. If you have it, great, if you don't fine, just don't let the camera be a distraction. Wow, well right there is a problem. You see, I can't guarentee I'll be around after my next skydive tomorrow. Mistakes happen, I make 'em, other people make them. If you never accept the fact that you can die doing this even if you do it right you're deluding yourself. *sigh*...again. You're missing the point. I'd honestly be surprised if something happened that was directly camera related to you. That doesn't mean, however, that you're not upping the chances of something happening to you. As per usual, some people will always think they're special and nothing can hurt them. Whether or not I think someone with low jump #'s should be jumping camera - read the above statement and apply canopy to it. then think about all those who are 'ok under their tiny canopy too early cause they thought about the risks and got coaching'. While I don't necessarily agree on the #'s Canuck is throwing out, I do agree with the general statement he's making. Too many people have camera too soon and it's a distraction. That said, with today's equipment I'm more worried about loss of focus on the dive than snag points for a novice camera flyer. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
-
Unless you're shooting video you're getting paid for, screw the newton sight. Just something else to get snagged on. Think about what you're asking the person to do, then think about the # jumps they (and you have), then tell me you can fly your slot, look all around you AND keep everything in frame. Sorry, ain't happening. When you can fly your body without thinking about it, go ahead and add a camera. Till then it's just a distraction. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
