    If you don't know for sure the person has the jumps/currency to handle the canopy then just call the DZO/S&TA. If they give the thumbs up I'd say you're good to go. There are some people I'd not sell my canopy to, period, no matter who recommended them. For example if someone with 400 jumps tried to buy my Velo, I'd refuse without even checking their references. However, if someone on the borderline - say 800'ish jumps tried to buy it I'd check their references first. Unless I knew the person, I'd at least call to confirm their approximate experience / jump # level (even if they claim to have 2000 jumps). When you're not sure they're capable of handling the canopy. You have to sleep with yourself at night so it's whatever is within your comfort range. Of course even after all those checks, there's no guarantee that they won't hurt themselves (this is true for anyone) but at least you have done due diligence.     Well, who knows - maybe the KA 135 will be out by then. If so, that's by far the best step if you're planning on going with a velo eventually. Otherwise I think the XF2 will do nicely in the smaller size but will be loaded up pretty high. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

    If only it were that easy Remi. Our own S&TA doesn't follow the set landing direction. Neither do at least 2 of our other AFF instructors. If they don't follow it, how can we expect others to? Funny thing is, I don't think they'd like it too much if I went whichever way I wanted on landing each time. We have an alternate landing area just for those who don't want to land in the set direction. If students see their instructors breaking the rules, how can we expect them to move up in the sport believing that they are required to follow them? It really pisses me off.
