As for the flat turn, toggles at 1/4th with one just lower than the other happens at around 250ft. Looking at soem video I guess what you can say is that I'm "running" back and forth on my base but instead of back and forth i get "turn...and oh look here is about 200ft...so keep turning...look at wind indicators makes ure I'm lined up, hands at a little less than 1/4th....run her in and then flare" I think it's an experiance thing. But another very dumb question why is it that when I let the cannopy "run" brakes fully released the cannopy seems to be more jumpy in turbulance but when I apply slight toggle pressure say 1/4th she calms down? Hi guys and gals, So I'm back in the air and LOVING IT! One thing....I'm having an odd time with my final. I'm using an audible to help me get my points which has really helped me keep my eyes on target and have alt awareness. Only catch. And maybe it's just me....my landing pattern is 800-400-200. 800-400 long ride...400-200 really comes up fast to my base leg seems to come up a bit short so out of instinct on the student 285 with a WL of 0.75 I make one flat left hand turn and line up perfectly for a soft landing. Is what I'm doing safe? My instructor says it's ok but I should try and stay "classic". And I will be doing my best to be more diligent in my landing patterns but just a dumb question, what are the dangers of doing a nice slow flat turn then level out before landing? Thank you.
