79 was a little early for Ratt....maybe 84 or 85. That was Lita Ford's prime and I can still recall that video of her in the cut up jeans with Ozzy! Damn that was smokin hot for a 6th grader! And how about that hot chick who's riding the motorcycle on the Judas Priest video Turbolover? And the classic She's My Apple Pie chick!!!!!! This is pretty funny thread! And what you speak of, in a round-about-way, is "the unexamined life is not worth living".....which, by the way, is a concept older than the concept of your god. -
she is a fruitcake these days.......she was then too, but hid it well for PB movie!

Is God trying to tell us something?
cloudseeker2001 replied to BillyVance's topic in Speakers Corner
Its important to understand what is happening. Consider if all the scientists in the world came together in a summit somewhere and decided that becasue of the way we have been living, the earth is evolving in ways that will ultimately destroy us. Whose fault would it be, ours, or earths? Ok, now that we understand its ours, dont we have to deal with the destruction we caused? It is not as if nature has anything against us, it is just the wisdom of an evolving continuum of time and space. Gods judgement on the sin of man was already brought forth through Jesus, now he is just shifting the wine into another wineskin. The "wisdom of man" will pass and all the knowledge we have gained will dissapear, what we are witnessing is the beginning of birth pains. The scale of what is to come is on such a level that even the greatest minds of man, all of our greatest accomplishments will look like an ant in the ocean. Hard to imagine? Why? When God, who is eternal, shakes the heavenly bodies, the awe will be so inspiring and amazing, I dont know, I would think our tranze-like state would be ignorant to everything else around us, even our own pain. At that moment, we will know who God is. Whoevers' lifetime this happens in, and it will happen, will be witness to the most awsome spectacle of Gods power since the creation of Heaven and earth. What you are speaking of in a round-about-way is called Free Will. And Free Will does nothing but let "God" off the hook for not taking more interest in man. So, again, why does this guy not come to Earth and talk to us in a language we can all understand? "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream" -
I agree. I have read a few books on China and I have good friends and family that do business in China...even own 49% of a factory. China is really growing and will be taking over that section of the world soon no doubt, and we are providing the cash advances for that boom. Chinese public is also growing and very modern, even by our standards. Most people think of China as a concept they have seen in movies, and that is not at all the case. Too bad we cannot apply some of their laws here, we might have a thing or two to learn from them! Nonetheless, it would be stupid to fight for that island. If god is so smart and if "he" created everything, then why will he not just address the masses in such ways everyone can understand? No reason to kill thousands in an effort to communicate himself....if this is the case, he has some real anger managenment problems! Maybe buy some time on prime time TV and give an address, or, make a special apperance on Jesus and Friends or something! For that answer, you need to consult the book of Kings: ------------------------- 2 Kings 2:24 He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the LORD. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths. ------------------------------ The Redskins are toast, I'd say. This is the second damn funny thing I have read tonight and it keeps getting better!! This first was Johnny Cash's remark to a judge after his truck started a forrest fire that killed 49 of 53 condors....................Cash's remark was something to the affect of......I don't care about your damn yellow buzzards!!!!!!!! So now that the FLDS men are not being arrested and charged by the dozens for all the things the media and government was dreaming up, where do you now stand on you point of veiw? Did the government do right?

I sure hope not. I will not fight for Taiwan and I think it just stupid to start a world war for an island such as Taiwan. I have nothing against those people, but, war over Taiwan is not in our best interest.

Skyfest 2005 I caught 2 guys about to steal my rig out of my truck. One was the lookout, and the other was just about to open the door......the lookout guy sucked. These were experienced skydivers and I even saw them again in 2006. "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"

I have been through many pair and I like Vasque. I also suggest Superfeet inserts. I think these are the best boots I have ever had and I have put some miles on them with a heavy pack.

Actually, I have a lot of skulls on the wall(s). "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"

Cool! Drums, guitar and I got the bass! Lets jam!

And one dead skull on the wall! Kinda sounds like a country song! "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"

If I lived in a place such as that, I would put up a "DON'T LAUGH IT'S PAID FOR" sign! "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"

PS: Polygamy sounds more like hell than heaven to me. I have spent some time Idaho and I have seen families with three wifes and four or five children at places such as Wal-mart or the grocery store and I have no idea how the man can handle it or afford it!

Should the US Release Oil from the Strategic Reserve?
cloudseeker2001 replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
I personally think what Clinton did was very effective in telling oil companies that we don't have to stand for their greed and corruption, at the cost of less than 5% of the reserve. I think Americans should do it more often. The government can do a lot of things to curb the big oil companies, but, the government is run by oil people first, and public employees second. -
Should the US Release Oil from the Strategic Reserve?
cloudseeker2001 replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
We should keep adding to it and not release a drop. But, I suspect the government will release some when the election is a little closer to make it appear the republicans are doing something to cut the price of gas.
