I am hoping to be sure to get the word out to EVERYONE that the dates for the World Free Fall Convention 2006 have been posted. The dates are July 21 thur July 30th 2006. Even if you are NOT planning on coming, would you please help spread the word? The reason for this change was based on the request of so many of our skydivers and our vendors. Their reasons were many and varied. Lots of the country has gone to 'year round' school, and the kiddies go back around the first of August. The nationals were very close, and both skydivers and vendors wanted to do both the WFFC and the Nationals. Don spent a great deal of time looking at the suggestions of jumpers, vendors, airplane owners and other dropzone operators, trying to come up with the best possible dates to suit everyone. He also has a few really great surprises up his sleeve that will be announced closer to the first of the year. Please add www.freefall.com to your favorite places and keep an eye on the changes as they are announced. Nope I believe it is an L39 trainer. An L 39 is a Czech made fighter jet. They are used in training our (USA and Canadian) fighter pilots how to fight better, but technically, they are really not trainers. Hey, lots of you guys know Freddie Cabanas, who owns the Pitts Special Bi-Plane that hangs folks upside down at the WFFC. I talked to Freddie last night as hurricane Beta was blowing thru his property. It was the second to directly hit him. He has a lot of property damage, including several of his planes. No, we never killed deer, but we have had three of them commit suicide on our truck. Man, they just stand there till you get close to them, then they jump right on top of the vehicle. AAA said that last year there were 25,000 deer hit by cars in the Minnesota Wisc area. Most of the deaths occured in a two week period of time. This is the two weeks. Superior has a city park bow hunt. Everyone but bow hunters stay home that day. At least that's what I've been told. I guess it has some success. And I'd much rather see people thin the herd thru hunting and using the meat, than seeing it destroyed in car accidents and filling the landfills. btw, we hit a deer and it totaled our truck a couple of years ago, but a lady here hit a deer, and it went thru her windshield and killed her on impact. You mean the price of issuing me the licence card? I heard it is fairly easy when you come from germany, answer a few questions and get the license. License plate, you may refer to them as tags. I don't remember how they figured the costs for them, but they had a very high annual renewal rate compared to Illinois. The folks in Chester are GREAT. We lived in Greenville for a year, and I am VERY jealous of you! One thing that no one has mentioned yet is the expense of a car license in SC. We found it to be many times the price of a license in Illinois. Don't buy a car til you do a little research there. It could make a big difference. Now my husband works in Wisc. right up at the border of Minn, and Canada. BRRRR!! Maybe we'll come and visit you in the south this winter and see our old home dz...
