I love it when I run into a jumper somewhere. My two favorite stories When I went to South Carolina to visit my husband who was living there at the time, I drove my Illinois truck down. The license plate says FLY 120. It's covered in WFFC stickers from every year that we've been to the Convention. I'm driving along, and somebody starts honking, and just when I'm ready to give this idiot the finger for honking at me, I turn and look to see the hang loose sign being thrown in my direction. Huge smiles are coming from the car next to me, and the girl points at my WFFC sticker on the window and does "hang loose" again. Next, I'm driving along in Illinois on Interstate 74, and we see Sunny driving along in her car, but we didn't know it was her, except her license is a Fly license too. So Bernice and I start honking at her, doing 75 miles an hour. I thought the poor thing was going to drive into a ditch to get away from the crazy ladies in the Toyota, until we pulled out a current WFFC sticker and held it in the window. We all pulled off at the next rest stop and took pictures together. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

[And as I remember, the entry fee went from $59.00 to $69.00 to pay for the new bathrooms/showers, clearly those are paid for, >>Paid for! Oh you kidder you!!! Ever take out a mortgage on a house? Try telling the bank that hey, I made a years payment, so it's paid for now, right? It is time for Don to step up to the plate and tell everybody what will or will not be done and end the speculation. >> and that is what he is doing, just watch the website www.freefall.com skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Just look for the naked person.... skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com -
You mentioned a vendor discount and I am wondering what this discount is since there doesn't seem to be a difference in price from last year and this year. I don't understand that statement. Since the last several conventions, vendors and jumpers have been saying that they cannot afford to attend with the current prices and wouldn't return unless they dropped.Apparently all the requested feedback on how to make the event better wasn't taken into consideration again. This is sad. The 05 convention turn out proved that people prefered to go elsewhere. Frankly, I fail to see how ignoring the mfgrs request for lower fees is going to encourage them to come back this year. HUH?!! Once again Scott, I checked the records of what you paid in vendors fees last year (and every year I could find records for easily) and it seems that you should be the LAST person to complain about prices. I have already shared that info with a few people who have called to ask me what this silly thread has turned into, and they are really surprised that you would keep adding fuel to the fire. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

I'm jealous, I'd love to be in a position to adopt another animal, but I live in Rantoul for a month every year, and it's hard enough with my current menagerie to handle the transition. I hope you get Max, and if you come to the WFFC, be sure to look me up so I can get my fair share of kisses (from MAX, all of you guys out there, I SAID FROM MAX!!!) skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

We adopted two Newfoundlands at about the same time that we adopted my daughter. The kennel was by far more difficult on us than Catholic Social Services. What a HOOT! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Well, he's not the only one confused then, Beth. I have my Vendor's package sitting right here and I just checked and rechecked -- there is absolutely NO information about any discount for early registration and the prices are identical to last year's. Hey Jack, nice talking to you! Yea, thanks for helping me clear this up. The discount is on rigging manufacturers and suppliers only. We know that the vendor fee got up there, at about the same time that the crowd numbers came down. What we are trying to do is to bring it back to a level playing field, so that not only can we still afford to have the Convention, but people can afford to come and have a great time. The tents, porta potties, water, electricity, trucks, cars, shuttle carts, trailers, fence, and all other form of sundry incidentals are things that we still have to pay for in one form or another, and our hope isn't to make a million bucks, but our fervent desire is to not LOSE a million bucks. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Things that make you go HMMM. If thats the case then I foresee a majority of last years vendors passing on this years WFFC and going else where instead. So what is considered "early registration" and what are the discount prices? Seems there are quite a few vendors out there who haven't heard of this early registration discount. Scott, I checked my records, and had Judy check hers. I am not sure how much of a discount you are looking for...... skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
-
Well Rick, you have just part of the information here, so I understand your confusion. There is a substantial discount for early registration for vendors. If you are a vendor and would like a vendor packet sent to you, just let me know, and I will make sure that you get a chance to save some $$$$$ skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
-
I'll make sure Judy gets it off to you! Thanks for letting me know! Beth skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Lou, are you on the vendors mailing list? I'll call Judy and have her mail you a packet. PM me an address.. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Last years(05) vendor fees were a major point of contention for many of the manufacturers in attendance.May I suggest that LOWER prices for vendors be discussed at this meeting as well.Otherwise I predict you will have less than terrific representation from the manufacturers at this years boogie. Hey Lou! Already done! And the manufacturers apparently LOVE the discount, as they are reserving their spaces now. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Really, really, REALLY Important question
Snowwhite replied to SkydiveStMarys's topic in The Bonfire
I have a good friend who was blind from birth. She was going deaf and had lupus. She was awarded custody of her 3 children. Illinois, not Indiana, and yes her husband was a huge loser. Tell your friend not to stress. Your friend needs to concentrate on getting better. We have free lawyers in our area who work on cases just like that. I am sure you do, too. Again, Your friend needs to concentrate on getting. better skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com -
Hey Candace. We should have a bunch of new info up on the website some time this week. Part of the difficulty with setting prices months in advance is that fuel prices dictate jump prices, and fuel has been a volitile commodity lately (no pun intended).] Anyway, Don is passionate about keeping jump prices at or below last years price, which was 21 bucks for a standard jump from 13,000. There are speciality jumpships, and those prices are higher, as has been stated here before. The entrance price to the WFFC is still up in the air until this week, when we have our next staff meeting to confirm a NEW LOWER price than last year. Our food vendors are very reasonable, and the general consensus has been that the quality of good cheap plentiful food is better than any other dz. We also have a grocery store on site if you would like to buy your groceries and cook for yourself. You can camp for free in tent city. Hot showers, cold beer and flush toilets are also free. There are some shuttles to haul people from point a to point b. They are free, too. We have load organizers (about 100 of them) at all skill levels, they are free, too. There is entertainment every night, after the seminars and both of those things are free as well. We are lucky to have a terrific representation from tons of our manufacturers, and distributors, if you are looking for any gear, they will be happy to help. Many of them have specials just for the convention. We had a French skydiver tell us that he saved enough on the gear purchase to pay for the plane ticket it took to get him to us. Lots of used gear is for sale here and there all over the grounds. Our two main landing areas are about 400 feet by 1000 feet each, and we have several additional landing areas if you opt to land else where. Not sure if I answered enough questions for you, but if you have any others, feel free to pm me! Beth skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

THAT, my friend, puts my reputation on the line, so I'll make a couple of coach jumps with you and then we'll see... Hey Beezy! I've got somethin' in my pocket, that belongs across my face.... skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
