Cessna Caravan crashed in the Cascades-Skydivers on board
Snowwhite replied to Amazon's topic in The Bonfire
Any updates? skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com -
Yea, what's up with the poker thing? In the middle of the night, the same poker game may be on two or three channels, and all of the rest of the channels are trying to sell me something. Apparently, they think that insomniacs are all gamblers or are addicted to buying junk skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

I've told this story before, but here goes. My son did a big mural on his bedroom wall 8 x 14 a tribute to Disney. It has Dumbo the Elephant, the Seven Dwarves, The Evil Queen, the Sorcerers Apprentice, and Tinker Bell. All primary colors. His buddies helped him paint it in the middle of the night. So did our dog Sidney. Sid had to go out, so one of the buddies went down the long hall, down the stairs, thru the living room, thru the dining room, and thru the kitichen to open the door. When the buddy turned around he saw BIG BRIGHT BLOOD RED paint foot prints that went thru ALL of the rooms on my brand new (light grey) carpet and wood floors. My son woke me up, sure that I was going to kill him, but needing immediate help to clean up the paint. Unfortunately, it was ENAMEL. What we found was this. Keeping it moist was key, as long as it stayed moist, I had time to work with the individual fibers to remove the paint. I used anything that said "petroleum distolate" in the contents. Mineral oil, denatured alcolhol, paint thinner. I had all of the buddies keep the fibers moist, then I worked from spot to spot, cleaning individual threads, til we had cleaned up every last FRICKING FOOTPRINT. It took all night. Luckily, I owned a violin/music shop at the time, so I had plenty of stuff available at the shop. These kids were about 13 or 14 at the time. They all just turned 30, and this year they told me which buddy it was that did the tracking. I told him thanks for taking the dog out. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Snowwhite replied to Andy_Copland's topic in The Bonfire
Well, when I met you in Texas, I figured you as a friend, so I guess you get to be one of my boyfriends too! Cuz I'm really sure you don't fall into the GIRLFRIEND category. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com -
Little dinky good vibe dzs for road trip?
Snowwhite replied to ScratchTX's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I spent this year doing exactly what you are talking about doing. What a fun and exciting year it has been. I'll tell you about some of the places that I have gone that are not on this list so far. I did a lot of the dz's that have already been mentioned, but a couple other terrific places are: Skydive Carolina in Chester South Carolina. The RR bros had their boogie there, and made everyone feel tremendously welcome, even tho the power was out most of Saturday. Skydive Superior in Superior Wisconsin. Owned by the notorious, infamous and fabulous Androsky family Mid America Sport Parachute Club in Taylorville Illinois They fly a Cessna 206 and are some really great folks with a lot of knowlege and comaraderie The Pathetic Losers in Flattville Illinois The owners John and Lee Ann Rash are about as hospitable and open as they could be, they will let you crash in the hangar if you like, or haul your rv onto their property for the weekend. Quad City Skydivers in Geneseo Illinois If you want to work on recurrency, you should probably call first, to make sure they have some one to help you here, but I think all of the other previously mentioned places have someone available most of the time. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com -
How many girlfriends is acceptable in america?

Look up Patrick Mercier, and spend some time jumping with him, He's a French teacher in America, and an English teacher in France, and he's one helll of a skydiver and videographer. He sometimes posts here as FrenchCloud, and I have an email addy for him. He's tons of fun, and we couldn't put the WFFC on without him. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

good luck, it took me 20 with a 5 hour car problem in St. Louis, and I was two states closer than you are. It was a great time tho, and terrific people. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

VT skydiving rigging loft burned / fire insurance questions?
Snowwhite replied to VTflyer's topic in The Bonfire
When my music shop burned, I was told that "customers" instruments would be covered. Specifically if they were there for repair or restoration. I would think this would be a similar situation. Storage was not part of the equation skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com -
We had an awful recession in the mid 80s in our area, which we never fully recovered from. Housing has always been cheap in our area because International Harvester, Case and the Rock Island Lines all folded in the same year. You can get a huge old house for CHEAP. My son recently bought two crummy dumpy houses and 4 lots for 10 Grand. My house, which is ok and about 2500 square feet in a decent neighborhood would go for about 115 grand. My inlaws house was appraised at 89 grand in July, and last week we accepted an 85 grand offer on it. It remains to be seen if the guy can get the financing. The whole subprime thing has been a bomb waiting to go off. We have known for several years that it was a really BAD idea, and did some lobbying in DC 2 years ago to get it reversed. Unfortunately, no politician wants to be the guy to tell a new home owner that you can't buy this huge McMansion fresh out of college. Guess those kids that did that are finding out the hard way what that is all about. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Joe, I do a little stuff at the WFFC. Boy has skydiving changed my life. I sold one of my businesses, I gave up my political career ( didn't even have anyone running against me, and walked away from my seat), quit directing the choirs I had been involved with since 1969. I spend EVERY weekend at a dropzone, have driven from the Canadian border to the Texas gulf and to South Carolina in the last couple of months just to hang around these great people. My best friends are all jumpers, pilots and wannabes, and I don't miss the life I had before. I live to watch the big shot lawyer, dentist, judge, or doctor who is intently listening to some young dz bum explain aerodynamics and body position. I love it when the two finalize a jump plan and execute it, and upon landing the big shot is brimming with excitement because his skydiving buddy helped him achieve in 3 minutes something that matters much more than whatever his weekly living entails. I love living in cramped quarters with a bunch of skydiving buddies for several weeks each year to pull off the WFFC, and then having people I have only conversed with online show up and give me a huge hug, and become an instant friend. I love it when those same people come back year after year, contact me when they get married, have babies, or go to a new dz, and include me in their lives. It thrills me to the core when a skydiving buddy comes to help set up the WFFC from France or England or Australia, just so we can all hang around together. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

ooooo! Come and do it at MY house. I would pay to see you drive thru my neighbors fence, yard and house. I'd even mortgage my house to see you do that. And no, it wouldn't be a problem. At least not with me... skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

So maybe it has been done, but if you could pick your own porn name, what would it be? skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

QuoteRelationships are so difficult because you're trying to convince someone else to accept you as you are, while at the same time, trying to change EVERYTHING about them! Seriously, I've seen way too many of my girlfriends try to enact this scenario, and it NEVER works. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

You can do that now...just have a crotch zipper put in the jumpsuit! Ah, no,, it doesn't work that way for women, unless everyone in the plane will enjoy the sweet smell of a urine soaked jumpsuit and legstraps on the way to altitude. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
