  1. I am a violin maker by trade, owned a music shop for 12 years, and have some guitar building/repairing experience. (about 26 years worth) The accoustic guitars that needed the MOST repair - Ovation followed closely by Martin. I never saw either one come from the factory with a quality set up, and for the most part they were close to non playable. I quit selling both of those brands because they were so poor straight from the manufacture, and required so much time in the shop that I felt guilty selling them to the poor schmucks who thought they had to have a "name brand." Yamahas have a long history of being very solid, nice playing guitars, but the guitar who's company stood behind it the best, and provided the fewest bad instruments straight from the factory was BING BING BING Takamine. I have probably had several hundered of them thru my hands at one time or another, and have only ever totally rejected ONE. In addition to the quality of manufacturing, they use very good quality Sitka Spruce in the tops of the solid top instruments, and if you are lucky enough to be able to afford a solid top with Rosewood back, you will never go wrong, and you will have an instrument that you can hand down to your kids. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
  2. Fly Free, and many thanks to you. I hope that God is with your family thru this trying time. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
  3. I work outside all of the time. I go thru PHONES like water. Cuz I get wet ALOT. I have the World Free FAll Convention phone on me at all times, plus my own business cell phone. I have had 3 WFFC phones this year, and killed another one this week. I found a really cool thing. One of the local music stores carries discontinued phones that I can get WITH CHARGER for 14.95! Then we switch over the SIM card. At least it works. Not beautiful, no real perks, but it works. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
  4. I have taken a year of jumping and am starting to crave for a big boogie. I must say it has been nice spending weekends with my girlfriend for the first time in our 5 year relationship I have also spent more time with Streaker this year, than I have in any year since I started with the WFFC. Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Personally, I'm thinking about squatting on the Rantoul Air base, and claiming it in the name of skydivers everywhere. Anybody know where I can get a lawyer or judge who is good in adverse possession? Heck we did a lot more in improvements on that property than most folks do in a lifetime. Hope to see you in 08 BigWay! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
  5. I am writing this to everyone who has been kind enough to support Don and Susie, but I am responding to BigWay, since he obviously OWNS this thread! Thank you everybody, and I am sending a link to this to Don, since I know he rarely has time to scour the forums, and may miss this thread. I know he will really appreciate all of your thoughts and good words. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
  6. I'm pretty good at sing language. Billy Vance is really good at sign language. He even taught me to sign "Rock Island". Oh, and I can sing it too. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
  7. I'm with YOU! Not only does it come off easier, it doesn't keep unrolling when you pull off a little bit. Glad you read what I had posted in that other thread, you can come and visit me ANYTIME unannounced because I don't need an extra roll for you! It amazes me the number of people who voted for the "wrong" way, what are they thinking? Shit..yesterday it was over...now under??? Arrgh! Streaker[/reply No, for 32 years it has been UNDER. YOU on the other hand like it OVER. I change it when you leave... skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
  8. It just shows how important this subject is. It touches all of us..........HAH!! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
  9. In a really satisfied kind of a way, I am assuming? skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
  10. Our French friend here has packed canopies all over the world. He is a "round the world" packer. Patrick, you can pack a canopy for me ANYTIME. I love watching you undulate on the floor while you are doing it! BTW, I found your closing loop necklace when I made up the place where you were sleeping last at my house. I gave it to Dean to use til you get back into our sweet little fold here. Hope you haven't been missing it too much! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

  12. Years ago, we had someone break into our house, but our dog, Sydney, chased him off. He had gotten thru the kitchen where he had opened all of the cupboards, and partially thru the dining room where he had gotten thru the buffet. When he got to the VCR, Sydney didn't like that, and chased him out. We know what happened, because they took finger prints at our house, and caught him in the act several days later. He told the cops all about Syd. Good dog. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
  13. It goes OVER the roll!!! Ok, I'll hang an extra roll for you if you come to visit! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
  14. My WORST experience in someone's home: going to a party and watch the host knock over a guest's wine, staining the carpet and blaming the guest for putting the glass where instructed THEN telling his wife 'see, thats what I meant about inviting ANYONE I don't see the 'medium'. You can come in my apartment and spill something, I have a mop and paper towels and baking soda. But if I come to your house and something spills, I don't want to be in a lineup! (lost my train of thought..I guess its under the pile of clothes on the chair)~~April Hey, when you move that pile of clothes, will you see if my keys and cell phone are there? I'm with you April. My house is "lived in" and the door is always open. Even if I'm not here, you are welcome to come to my house anytime, and stay as long as you like. It's not the cleanest place, it's not the dirtiest. But it's mine, and I like it most of the time. When Streaker comes to stay with me, it gets a little hairy, cuz he is pretty military when it comes to things like hanging up clothes, and whether the toilet paper goes UNDER or OVER the roll, but I can deal with it. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

  16. I think we are all "treading" lightly here! And Turtle, I thought it was first per PERSON per INCIDENT, which by my count makes it three cases. Make mine Corona You are right - I'll have Dos Equis Ah, Dos Equis! One of the few (dozen) Rodriquez Bros I would allow to see me naked.... Gee, I hope I get to see him again soon! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

  18. It sounds like it's a first all around, sounds like LOTS of beer to me! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
  19. My son in law got this game last weekend. He is a drummer, and the cues really are something he is cued into. He brought it over last night, and my son and I (both real guitar players) were laughed off stage, so my son went and got one of his guitars and while my son in law played GH, my son jammed to the music. I see a neat new bar game coming that will beat the hell out of Karaoke! However, we did decide that real guitar players will struggle with GH because you want to play real notes, that aren't there. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Sorry I didn't read this earlier, I spent the night awake, watching tv, I would have called you at 3:30 and said WAKE UP!! Hope you have an ok day at work! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
  21. Have you had your furnace checked? You've had that headache quite a while now. Is your furnace on? What do you mean? Is this a hidden joke and I'm not getting it? Oh...you mean like carbon monoxide or something? Our furnace is old and crusty and terrible. Would a store-bought carbon monoxide detector show low-levels of carbon monoxide or only like 'you should be dying momentarily' levels? I'm not a professional, all I know is that a friend of mine felt crummy at home, a little better when she was gone from home. Because she was the mom, she was home the most. Anyway, they had a leak, and she got very sick. I think that the gas and electric company can check it cheap or free. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
  22. I have a bad enough headache as it is... Oops. Wrong guy to b*tch to about headaches. [/reply Have you had your furnace checked? You've had that headache quite a while now. Is your furnace on? skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
  23. If you wanna be retired, put it on the history channel or the discovery channel and veg out. ITS THE WEATHER CHANNEL! YEA! I can spend the whole day watching the WEATHER CHANNEL! Hey Cocheese, bet you're getting the 45 mph winds we had yesterday, and so that's why you're taking the day off, like I did yesterday. Well today I picked up leaves that fell 2 states west of here, so you'll be seeing my leaves tomorrow. Have fun cleaning em all up. Oh ya, I got to take a couple thousand begonias out of the ground today, cuz it's gonna be 20 degrees tonight. Have fun doing THAT too! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
  24. Your seat was yellow? Lucky you! Mine had a floral print. And one set of streamers in the handlebars had come out, so you tried to pull out the other so they would match, and all but a couple of dinky strings came out. My bike was a handmedown that my dad painted the COOLEST green. I can still get a good feeling about whenever I think of it! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
  25. You've been in my old stash!!!! Those captions did improve my reading skills. Streaker Hard to do brail when your hands were busy, huh? skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
