Ghees! Why the heck over analyze the situation and destroy it. Be happy for today, and if it repeats tomorrow, be TWICE as happy. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Sure there is, he's a skydiver! I just assumed he wants to be laid off in time for jumping season. We've had lots of people quit their jobs to be able to come to the Convention. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com -
I guess I'm just getting jaded by all of these "parents" who spend ABSOLUTELY NO TIME with their kids, never discipline them, and stand up for them every time they screw up. Some idiot kills or rapes some neighbor kid, and the media interviews the mom who says "but he is such a GOOD boy!" Yea, I'm taking a leap here, but where are peoples morals? skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Man, I can't imagine stealing a cheap movie or 6 and threatening a lifelong career with decent pay and benefits. What kind of moron raised these people? skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

We drove down from Wisconsin and Illinois, so the lack of electricity was not a problem for us. I did feel sorry for Packin'Cathys kids who were still packing at 10 PM with no electricity, just the lights from cars to help them. Man that was a hot day. Kept the plane running tho, I think it was 42 loads that day. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com -

Hey Chris! Tell Dale we are really sorry we won't be able to make it this year, and he should give you our chickens. Man was that delicious! Hope that there is power on the dz this year, it was a LONG hot Saturday with no power last year, but everybodys vibe stayed high. Streaker has a picture of Dale with said chickens, I'll see if he can upload it. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com -

The only bad thing about eating vegetables is having to dress them and put them back in the wheelchair afterwards. I'm pretty bad at hooking the catheters back up, too. Pain in the ass skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com -
WFFC asking -- would you go to WFFC 2008?
Snowwhite replied to chango's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Hey Greg! We LOVE this kind of enthusiasm, and it's just exactly what the Convention has always been about. The past conventions (in Quincy) had their first senior staff meeting about 6 to 8 weeks prior to the event every year, and the year we moved to Rantoul, well, we didn't even FIND Rantoul til February that year. So yea, we know it can be done. When you have 300 volunteers and load organizers to call on, who mostly have YOUR brand of enthusiasm the job happens. It's more a matter of do people really still want our kind of an event. Even in the last year, our numbers were about 3X the size of the biggest event I went to last year, and I think I hit most big boogies. When we have a temporary dz, and all of the aircraft are flown in from all over, it costs a BUNDLE to put on the quality that people have come to expect from us, and I really don't want to dilute that. I will be happy with a smaller size as long as the terrific "Convention Vibe" is still present. What was really cool about my travels last year was hearing over and over that people were still hoping for a Convention. I'm wanting to make sure that Don Kirlin sees that kind of excitement, since he didn't get to go with us last year when we traveled. His financial backing of the WFFC is what always made it happen, and I'm sure we'd all love to have him be a part of it again! The Convention can be the coolest thing on the planet and a huge pain in the ass all at the same time, so it's really important that those of us who appreciate it let Don know that we do. I have never worked as hard as I do at the Convention every year, made as little money, sweated as long days or made as many friends. I love every minute of it, and almost every person who works it feels the same way. I always tell Don thanks for taking me on his vacation with him. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com -
It's the dwarves that get me into trouble. You know, Drinky, Feely, Sleazy, and all those other guys. They are just too cute to resist. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

When we get it organized, I'll let you know what the plan is. Sure you can come. It's fun to drop in on the town and see everybody. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

It's really cool when everybody starts checking in with us again. Last week I got an email from him using that name, and it kinda is an exciting thing to see our name in caps again. He's really good about helping us with the whole web deal. And what's really neat about the WFFC is that he is only one of about 300 people who help out. I've been hearing from some of the skydiving medical people for months and the skydiving grounds people (wow, THAT'S a weird thing to say) have been conversing with me daily since the last Convention. We're getting together in a week or two to drink in Rantoul. I guess it's just one of the things that makes the Convention such a cool and unusual thing. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Go without an appointment. If she really sees the future, you won't have to call in advance. I always wonder why they put their phone numbers on the billboards and cards. I had a friend who's six year old daughter identified the resting location of a missing friend. She had no idea what abduction or murder were, she just kept telling people that the friend was under the leaves in farmer so and so's field. No one would listen to the kid who eventually was shushed into submission. In the spring, when the farmer plowed he found the body. So yea, I guess I kinda believe. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

[ 5. Making mince-meat out of thumbs Streaker used a pry bar and a hammer to make the last part of his thumb into six seperate pieces..... 10. A thought-provoking item - What the hell is a "peen" anyway? It's something to do with your balls, right? The only thing I have ever done that was really creative with my circular saws, is to cut the end off of the electrical cord. Lots of really pretty nice sparks when you do that, and then it doesn't go around anymore... skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Yea, and technically a trumpet is a Brass family member, and Saxophones are members of the Sax family, so this list is a whole bunch of stuff that you blow that you on, but are not really necessarily members of the "wind" family. Ok, so the thread goes down hill from here. On the other hand, I had a boss who was a tremendous sax man. He was highly in demand, and members of the tonight show used to come in to have him repair their instruments. Hey, not bad for middle Illinois. We were really out of the way. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

You mean closed door sessions or not represent us? Cause, I'm thinking both are true. C. All of the above Our little USPA, is all grown up and just like the big boy politicians. Aren't we so proud? What is really interesting about closed door meetings and the "open meeting act" is that the Senate is immune from any of the laws regarding it. I only know this, because I am a member of a couple of groups that are governed by it. We have to announce what the meeting is about ( property acquisition, or disposition, or personell,) when it is going to be held ( a posted date at least 3 days in the future )and we have to keep records that will be disclosed at some specific date in the future. All organizations that use, or spend tax funds are required to keep this. The Senate is not bound by the same laws. The only thing keeping them on the straight and narrow is the media, and I"m not really fond of them either. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

We used to have Newfoundlands and that is a breed that is prone to HD. Now they OFA certify hips on some of the breed, and if I were going to get another Newfie, that is something I would request from the breeder. That aside, the dog could still have the disease, but you would be given a new pup to replace the one that would have to be put down. Once again a heart wrenching thing to have to go thru. We have had various degrees of problems with dog hips, one of our current buddies has a really tough time in bad winter months. We have a prescription for Vioxx that we give her sparingly during those bouts. She is about 11 years old now, so it has been a decent response to her situation. There have been about 4 or 5 years of this kind of treatment. My sister had a Golden with Dysplasia that had a broken leg at one point. The dog had very severe walking challenges, and swung the left leg way outside and around in order to walk. Funny looking and painfully obvious when she came running/limping up the drive to meet you. However, she lived to a ripe old age of about 12, with a moderate amount of discomfort, until she got so bad that she had to be put down. My sister had a chiro do adjustments for about the last 3 or 4 years and it was amazing the results that the dog had. Swimming with your dogs? They are really lucky to have you Bigway, this is probably one of the best things for them. Gentle excercise that helps to build up muscle tone, and is easy on the joints. I have spent incredible amounts of money on my animals, but the days of borrowing money for animal care are behind me. I wish you well in your tough decision. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
