The joke that was just made up... There was this competition where they judged the best looking sheep. All year long people spent a lot of money on their sheep and fed them well and groomed them. The competition day came and as the judge was walking the line he noticed just how good all of the sheep looked. He began the judging by walking up to the first contestant... Who wants to add on?...

This leads me back to my previous thread of Dropzone Business Management. I hope this post does not go without any responses. I know a lot of us believe that ASC has backstabbed some of the competitive dropzones in the area through marketing and direct sales. To a point where a lot of people will not ever jump there anymore. I personally was one of those people. What you really have to remember is that skydiving, like business, is a competitive sport. If someone opens a dropzone it is unlikely they will have a huge return on investment if they even make money. I am not talking about some of the largests dz's out there...ie; Perris, Elsinore, etc. ASC does have good instructors and a good mix of disciplines for skydivers to participate in. Ben and Cary may have exhausted every means necessary to make their dz out in the middle of nowhere successful but they also had investors who wanted it to be run like that. They took a small airport and turned it into the headquarters for the Regional NSL meets as well as a numerous airplane experience. Whether it is Mullins King Air (or his kids jumping at this dz year around), the Frankenotter, Skyvan's, Casa's etc. anyone who stays out of all the political ownership bullshit can and will have a good time at this dz. They may not own planes but they have a wide variety on any given weekend. Summary, stay out of the political business aspect and enjoy the jumping.
