What I mean is that if my main canopy is not landable at 2,000 feet I will cutaway and deploy me reserve. I want to have plenty of altitude to make it back to the dz or to be able to find an alternate safe landing area. Like others have said you still have to pull both handles if you have a RSL. Saying that you don't have to deploy the reserve by pulling the handle because you have an RSL is like saying you do not have to deploy the main because you have a AAD.

500 feet is NOT ok! I will let someone else like Bill Von answer this question but my personal harddeck is 2k.

Roy sold the DZ to Alex. But I have jumped with Roy about 70 times doing RW. Terry was in those as well. I got my gear from him too. He really is a nice guy.

hehe, We never got our party at his house for rolling the odometer over so I bet he won't.

The DZO at the Naples dz gave me mine. I think it was around my 50th jump or so.

Like a new canopy of your choice from the dropzone? I like that idea....

Moving to Boston on the 26th for a new permaneant job assignment. I have only jumped at Orange once in the month I have been here. Weather hasn't been to good here.

Should I bump or stick her?

We always turn down the road less traveled!

I'm with you Kevin. I am considering whether or not I am going to attempt the hour and a half drive to Orange anyway on Saturday. I still have $80 pre paid at Orage manifest and I hope I can use it before I move. Have you been to any of the Wednesday loads yet?

Are you British? Lisa my bad. Sorry Bill Von it was Viking in the speedo not you. I will never think or post anything about Bill in a speedo anymore.

Because you subscribe to Playgirl instead!

No joke. I lived in Florida and only went to the beach twice. Something about watching snowbirds clap at the sunset didn't appeal to me. So I went out to a mosquito infested airport out in the middle of nowhere and jumped from planes instead.

As Richard said hop and pops are a great and necessary way to learn your canopy. Now that you are off AFF ask your jumpmaster if you can do a few hop and pops before the coached jumps. Jump out at altitude and deploy once you reach terminal velocity. Watch your altimeter and figure out the average amount of feet it takes once deploying to get a full canopy above your head. Then work on flaring and different turns. Have fun doing some spirals. After doing this you feel much more confident about your canopy.

Good memory. Sometimes people don't like that I remember everything.

I can't believe I lived in Florida and never went to it. I guess it is one of those things that you don't feel it is important until after your away from it. At least I don't have to say that about skydiving though!

When are you going to Venezuela? Where are you staying?

Same here. Blue skies all week and raining today and it is supposed to rain through Sunday. Supposed to be blue skies again on Monday. Go figure. I guess I will have to skip work on Wednesday if it is nice.

I only have 105 skydives and I see the amount of time I spend jumping decreasing because I am taking on a new job assignment and I am moving to New England = Bad Weather. My new goal is to become a Wingsuit Flier when I can jump so, Chuck, or any qualified WS flier please tell me what I need to do. Almost 95% of my jumps have been RW.
