    As I've heard it, the British 2 finger salute dates back to the the middle ages. When French soldiers captured British soldiers the would sometimes cut off their first two fingers so that they could not shoot a bow. This developed into an insult when British soldiers would taunt the French by showing them that they still had their fingers. The American "bird" possibly comes from the Greek/Roman influences, where a single digit held up (usually the thumb or first finger) was an insult or command to put someone to death. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.     No way. The PIA and the companies that it is comprised of are too self serving to be able to regulate the rigging industry without a conflict of interest.     That will work. Just remember it's going to put your pre-planned breakaway handle REAL close to your actual breakaway handle. If you have the ability (read rigger or rigging skills and equipment) you may want to think about both relocating the housing and handle, and creating a loop handle that feels/looks different from the actual handle. There is an incident in history resulting a fatality of a well known and accomplished skydiver who had a problem on a pre-planned breakaway jump. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.
