I really want to see this movie. Unfortunately I don't have cable nor am I likely to in the foreseeable future. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Agreed every Knight/former Knight I've met and/or jumped with has been professional and friendly. They do a difficult job very well and I thank them for their service. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

IMPORTANT: Dropzone.com Management Announcement

Jay, thank you for your work, it is appreciated. Willem, would becoming a Premier member again help things? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
Yes. And my vote is..... ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

It is not, it was debated at the BOD meeting and found to be unenforceable and unneeded, but rather a focus on stable approaches, and encouraging operators to police their staffs for unsafe behaviors. It would have had no effect on the panic turn into the wind incidents in the last two years, since they were not intentional performance turns to begin with. Probably the best thing to come from the dialog was Bill Booth's comment, quoted in my current sigline. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Tandem dive for a guy with ALS in the Kansas City area?
diablopilot replied to k8fan's topic in Skydivers with Disabilities
I've recently been given the privilege of jumping with an ALS patient. Even after 5000+ tandems I was pretty nervous about it, however I must say that jump and the 3 that have followed with him have been a true pleasure. -
The DC law is based on the California list. The article and JR are being deceptive by focusing on the "color" of the part in question. The Cali list is a crock of crap - a gun that is safe one year doesn't suddenly become unsafe because the manufacturer didn't pay the $200 / model danegeld. DC is going to get their ass handed to them again, if they're not careful. Now if we can just get the CA DOJ to chew on a piece of their own ass.... ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Skydiver in the wire... Question pertaining to BASE...
diablopilot replied to leroydb's topic in The Bonfire
Of course. Got any real world examples? A cliff strike rescue in Moab, a bridge strike in TF. MY 2 cents is that bot the illegal jumper or the legal jumper in EITHER sport is completely responsible for their actions including the cost of a rescue. If the rescuing agency decides to take pity on a guy and can afford to absorb the cost of the rescue, then bonus for the jumper. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. I think you still can take pride in your accomplishments Jerry. It's the type of event that I wish I could attend so that I can learn, and enjoy the experiences of those Pioneers, before they are gone. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. I've been pleased with every one of my FliteSuits, not so much with my Tony Suit. YMMV. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Do I NEED an A license right off the bat?
diablopilot replied to Mazz's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I live in LA. I have basically 3 options in my area. Elsinore, Perris, or Camarillo. All of them are expensive except Camarillo and they dont offer the program yet. Elsinore and Perris are a 2 hour drive away too Camarillo has a DZ??? I don't think so. Are you looking at this url http://www.soaringsports.com/skydiving/Camarillo_California/index.html That page is from a booking agency - not a real DZ. If so, you need to go check out FunJumper.com and this sublink To find REAL DZs, not booking agents, go to CA DZs and type in your zip code to find the REAL DZs near you. The one I recommend is Jim Wallace Skydiving. It's located at the Perris airport too. Elsinore would be second. Perris third and Taft (to the north of LA) as fourth. . Jan I believe he's referring to this one....http://skydivecoastalcalifornia.com/index.html ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
Would your DZ let you use a Baser system to skydive.

Those risers are done. call these guys and get a new set, it's worth your safety. www.velocityrigs.com Risers should be changed every two linesets or so, maybe 1000 jumps...... ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Hmmmm, the responsible member of society takes care of securing their own medical and other needs before luxuries. The irresponsible member of society becomes a drain on the resources of the responsible member and somehow not only thinks this is acceptable but expects more of a hand out. Why should I shoulder the load for slackers? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Small point, but it's far better all around to signal your speed requests to the instructor in the chamber (usually standing in the doorway), rather than the controller. Most controlers will defer to the judgment of the instructor who is responsible for the safety of the fliers anyway. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.
