My experience it the A2 is the worst Tandem main I've jumped (7000 tandems aprox). Horrible flare, rough openings and 2 of the 5 I've jumped have damaged them selves to the point of major repair in less than 200 jumps. On the other hand I've got thousands of jumps on the Icarus (and Precision) canopies and they are wonderful. Good openings, easy toggle pressure (especially when set up in the 2 and 6 config.) and smooth landings. Will straight in just as easily as with a turn to landing. The 330 seems to need some speed to land well, but the 365 has no bad traits. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

do you ever worry about if people like you or not?

Suggest you avoid posting in Speakers Corner, then. Or DZ.com in general. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
Funny that. I have a Matte Black G2. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

USPA's "Championship" Demo Team?
diablopilot replied to airtwardo's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm in total agreement with you Jim. I may just have to start going to Meetings again just to keep an eye on the BOD. It's just such a hit to my pocket book....... ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
It's not an here's why. The D-License is a qualification that you are a "master parachutist". Can you make that claim if you've never experienced a night jump? It devalues the accomplishment to remove the requirement. Don't want to do night jumps? That's cool, enjoy your C license. Why do you need a D anyway? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I agree. I'm a stickler for making people earn things and I can't see a reason to require someone to have a D license to get that award/ I mean one has nothing to do with another. When it came up at a BOD meeting a few years ago I was flabbergasted at the response. Seems like the money won out. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

1st: Don't look at the Airspeed readout and expect it to be the same as you see on your ProTrac/Neptune/Whatever in the sky. You're 25 to 30 lbs lighter in the tunnel than in the sky, so your fall rate will be less as well. 2nd: If you really are in control, the fastest way to get the instructor in the doorway to tell the instructor in the booth (this is the proper chain of responsibility) to increase the speed is to settle to the net in a perfect body position, turn to face the instructor in the door, make eye contact, and ask for more air with a raised thumb. When they see that you are in control, they are most assuredly going to increase the air speed. It should take less than 5 seconds for the instructor to recognize the problem. If they don't, then that's a problem, but if you are de-arched bouncing all over the tunnel just because you are trying to stay off the net, I can see why they might suspect you don't have the control needed to handle higher airspeeds. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. AFF student struggling with stability
diablopilot replied to tomahawkpilot's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Who says you're behind? Do not compare yourself to others performance. YOU are learning in your way, not them. Stop seeking the goal in your mind so hard. Look to what the instructor wants you to do this moment, not a week or a month down the road. From a physical standpoint, your hips should be pushed down hard, to the point where you have your butt cheeks pinched so tight that it hurts. Everything els should be some what fluid. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
Love to know where this sort of thing is accepted so I can avoid it at all costs. Also would REALLY like to know who the USPA BOD member(s) are who are looking the other way if that's true. If it is, then throw the bums out. And I understand the desire for anonymity. I'd hope you keep telling people you trust to help you in the effort to fix something this dangerous. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Has briefed the passenger parachutist before boarding the aircraft. The briefing must include the procedures to be used in case of an emergency with the aircraft or after exiting the aircraft, while preparing to exit and exiting the aircraft, freefall, operating the parachute after freefall, landing approach, and landing. I'd say that teaching someone about "operating the parachute after freefall, landing approach, and landing" is pretty well down the road of instruction. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. And while those two retards are blocking the freq both at Lufker and the other airport within 100 miles that uses the same Freq, I'm busy scanning and setting up my pattern. After they have finished their tea party, I'll make my 3 brief, concise position reports (or not if it's unneeded, or I'm unable) and then put all my focus of doing my best to make sure I don't transfer paint with another airplane. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. I'm not dissing it. I am suggesting that the girl who the OP posted about became to preoccupied with kicking and looking for a response, rather than devoting all her attention to flying a parachute. I don't really care to know if someone sees me, it's my job to see and avoid. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Your friend is right, and those are possiblities, albeit remote. In the history of skydiving, a large number of people have been killed through a failure to deploy a reserve in a timely fashion after a breakaway. A statistically insignificant number of people have died through a complication from their RSL. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I agree with you. Tips are to reward good service, and are by no means required ever. I have a problem with the way things have gone in this country, where employers are permitted to pay servers a lower wage than minimum simply because they are supposed to be making it up in tips. I think that's criminal. I would add that if service was great but the food stunk I would think about complaining but still rewarding the server. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.
