    Do you enjoy the benefits of that overhead? Free pullup cords, rubber bands, advice when you need it, the ability to try stuff on? A DZ is a microcosm community. A little support of the DZ can sometimes make the community you enjoy better. There are unseen costs to every discount.     Sure there are, but just like the rules in other sets of aviation they are flexible to local needs, and sometimes ignored. 1) Low man has right of way. 2) Less maneuverable (or experienced in the case of students) parachute has the right of way. 3) In the event of an impending collision between two parachutes, turn right, UNLESS that would increase the danger of collision. 4) Land the same direction as everyone else on the load. Using guidelines like these is a good idea. Insisting on right of way can be risky sometimes so use of judgement is important. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

    Hmmmm, I started with a 7 cell and won a couple pieces of bling at CP Nats, 5 years later.... of course I had a few parachutes in between, had done bigways, CRW, and generally worked on becoming a proficient skydiver... You both have a point: Why be in a rush is the one I'd make here.

    Sure they have a right to protest as stated in the first amendment, however they rights of an individual only go so far and tend to end when they stomp on the rights of others. They also must comply with laws existing for the protection and safety of the society that guaranty those same rights.     Since it appears that the BOD really just wanted to get a company like Red Bull to sponsor the competitors, why didn't they just start a letter writing campaign? Better yet, when some DZ's tried to attract corporate sponsorship for Nationals, why didn't the BOD step out of the way and let it happen? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.
